Description of Work: Fridge is under extended warranty now. Service techs have been out 12 times now over the past 14.5 months trying to repair several issues. Ice machine still doesn't work. Will make 1 or 2 full trays of ice a month. Top shelf of fridge runs between 40-50 degrees. Bottom shelf runs at freezing or just above. Open door alarm kept sounding for more than a month before they fixed that issue. Techs (4 different techs so far) don't seem to know what they're doing. Management refuses to replace the fridge. They are scheduled to come out later this week for what will be the 13th time. Will never do business with them again.

Description of Work: After looking at every other retailer for our appliances, we went to Judd and Black (our contractor, McCarthy Construction, recommended), and we are so glad we did. We were about to begin a complete home renovation so needed all new appliances. We went to the Hwy 99 store, and the folks there were just great. We looked at several models and the manager answered all our questions and showed us everything we wanted to see, and then some. Thankfully, we were pretty sure about what we wanted, so it wasn't a laborious process. We purchased a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, microwave, washer and dryer and pedestals for each. We decided to go with extended warranty for the washer and dryer and the stove due to all of the electronic components. We explained that delivery wouldn't be needed until mid March. I just received a follow up call from Nicholas, just as he said he would, to check on delivery needs. I referred him to our contractor, as I knew the appliances were ready to be installed sometime this week. We are very pleased with Judd and Black and will recommend them to others. They were great!

+ -1 moreChad gave us a clear understanding of the pro's and con's of each brand without pushing us to a particular manufacturer. After listening to what he had to say we ended up buying the appliances. Chad gave us the installation window and kept us informed as the appliances arrived for delivery. Chad also provided us with the necessary forms and duplicate receipts to send in for both the PUD and manufacturers rebates. The delivery/installation was done in a very professional manner with no complaints or concerns. We had a need for a service call to adjust the gas burners. One call and they were out the next morning to correct the issue. Again, no complaints or concerns. Great service from the time we walked into the store until the morning of the first service call. I feel confident that they will continue to meet our expectations.
Description of Work: We were looking for new kitchen appliances. We had looked at several vendors and finally decided to take a look at Judd & Black. We purchased 5 new stainless steel appliances from Chad.

+ -1 moreThey were able to schedule an appointment for the next day and gave me a two-hour window in which the repair person would arrive. He showed up in the window, was polite, and gave me a quote before proceeding. Luckily, he had the part he needed in the van. He replaced the bearing seal and oiled the squeaking spot. Quick and professional. I was happy with the experience. My only negative was the price. I was willing to pay it, but it did seem excessive for one part, a bearing seal, and about 20-25 minutes of work.
Description of Work: My dryer was making horrid squeaking noises and was catching clothing, creating little burn marks. Preferring to work with local companies, I called Judd & Black to come out and repair it. They came out the next day and were able to fix the problem. It hasn't come back after a couple of weeks.

+ -1 moreUpon entering their store, I was very impressed by the salesperson's approach. I liked the honest information provided and prices. This was my first experience with them. When the installer arrived, it was determined the wrong garbage disposal was brought. It was an upgraded one. The installer stated this was their mistake so it was my lucky day. I would definitely shop at the business again.
Description of Work: I purchased a new Amana dishwasher. It has a stainless steel interior with many features. It is not the top of the line, but higher than the average appliance. Also, I purchased a Kitchenaid garbage disposal. While shopping, they had a Weber grill on sale for 50% off which I bought, too. They delivered and installed everything.

+ -1 moreWhen my washing machine got stuck on the spin cycle, I called Judd & Black because of the good rating they had on Angie's List. The service manager I spoke with on the phone was a bit abrupt, but he set up a two hour window on the following Saturday (the only day I was able to be home) for someone to come out and give me an estimate. The repair person showed up 10 minutes into the window, was very friendly and actually wiped his feet before coming into the house. He determined the problem immediately and gave me an estimate of $250 for parts and labor. We set up a time for the following Saturday for the repairs to be done. Again, I was given a two hour window, and although not as early as the first time, the repairman showed up well within the window. He also was very personable and completed the repair quickly and then figured out the cost, which was $12 less than the estimate. I would definitely call them again.
Description of Work: Replacement of the timer in my washing machine.

+ -1 moreSales and service were fine with this company. The new dryer had a squeak which was fixed without charge on a Saturday morning. They don't do Saturday service in Seattle though. We are in north Shoreline. I give a B for professionalism of the service agent on the phone, because it was a little tough to schedule, but they did the job as their Saturday schedules are limited in time and area. For the most part, I was pleased with the service and have a good washer/dryer set. They haven't delivered or notified me about my dryer rack yet though. It's been three weeks.
Description of Work: Delivered washer and dryer. Repaired faulty dryer.

+ -1 moreTHE TECHNICIAN CALLED TO SCHEDULE A TIME FOR SERVICE. DAY OF WORK, HE CALLED BEFORE COMING TO MAKE SURE SOMEONE WAS HOME. UPON TIMELY ARRIVAL, HE STUCK HIS HAND IN THE DRYER, SPUN THE DRUM, AND VOILA, IT WAS THEN ABLE TO START. HE CLAIMED THAT ALL IT NEEDED WAS A GOOD PUSH. THIS 2 MINUTE FIX COST ME $69. I'M FRUSTRATED THAT THE TECH NEVER SUGGESTED OVER THE PHONE THAT I TRY THIS, ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I SPENT GOING TO THE LAUNDROMAT UNTIL MY UNIT WAS WORKING AGAIN. THIS SERVICE CALL LEFT ME WITH THE IMPRESSION THAT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IS NOT ONE OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT'S GOALS. THEY ARE CLEARLY LOOKING AT THE BOTTOM LINE FIRST. I FELT LIKE A TAKEN-ADVANTAGE-OF HOMEMAKER. I PROBABLY WOULD NOT USE THEIR REPAIR SERVICES AGAIN BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE.
