Painless experience! I'm very pleased. They repaired 3 dead circuits, including replacing 2 breakers, for their minimum dead circuit troubleshooting charge of $264 + parts + tax. Lucas is very professional. He returns phone calls in a timely manner, showed up on time, stuck to his estimate and was very pleasant to work with. After having trouble even getting quotes or phone calls returned by other contractors, I would have been very happy with 'satisfactory' service, but they provided excellent service. I am extremely pleased to give In-House Electric an A rating in all categories.

I have used In House Electric on a number of occasions for both my home and for community projects at a condominium complex. I contacted Lucas regarding a project installing new lights in two parking garages. The response time was good, the project was completed in a timely manner and the end result was very satisfactory. I will continue to hire In House Electric for future condominium projects.

The week before Christmas, our lights flickered again, they started during the last storm...but this time half the lights in the house went out. PUD came out (super fast!) and checked the lines, then down to the house and it turned one of the two circuits that the meter completes had been arcing for quite some time, we had lost about 4" of insulation and the spring clips that connect to power had melted away. Scary. Most electricians we contacted couldn't help us until the new year, but these guys came out same day, gave us our options (replace just the external box or both external and internal) and an estimate that was right on. Work started the next day, they helped us work with the PUD to disconnect the power and managed the inspection and the lights were back on the first day. They came out the 2nd day and replaced the breaker box and clearly labeled all the circuits, cleaned up after themselves and were just great guys to invite into our home, as far as I could tell. I would do business with them again. Oh, the PUD apparently has a rule about the height above the roof that your power comes in at. Their installation passed state inspection, but PUD said it needed 3' of clearance. I was surprised they hadn't run into this issue before, but they totally took care of it and paid the extra PUD fees for having them come out and shut down the power and re-inspect it afterward again. No extra charges for us and only a minor inconvenience.

We were under some time constraints with our contractor to get things going since we have been without a kitchen for 2 months. I was really happy with how quickly we were able to get an electrician out to take care of everything. David was our electrician and he was great. He completed everything exactly how I pictured it. He was great at communicating with us and confirming where we wanted our fixtures. Everything was completed quickly and looks great! I wouldn't hesitate to use their services in the future!

David came out for what we thought would be a small fix. He started in and went through every outlet and wire we have in the house (all three floors.) For awhile he was stumped. But he NEVER gave up. He figured it out 3+ hours later. He even fixed a mistake my husband had made in the bathroom fan/light combination. I think what really impressed me is that he tried to eat some overcooked salmon that I offered him. ;) (Since it was well past dinner time.) Thank you Lucas (owner) for sending David out to help us. I will never again be afraid to call an electrician. Sincerely and so happy I called, Jeff and Shelly Murphy

The electrician was very nice, punctual, and appeared competent. Whole house inspection basically means they remove the main breaker box panel and visually inspect the wiring for any potential problems. We did have a few other items which we discussed and upon completion of the inspection and discussion of additional projects I was told I'd receive an estimate for the other small projects within a few days. As of 6/23/14 I have still not heard back, even after leaving a few messages.

In House was pleasant, professional, prompt and great to work with! They did a walk thru with me and provided an estimate within a day with a detailed breakdown of work to be done. They were available to start within a couple of days and from Day one until the job was finished 10 days later; it was an incredibly pleasant experience. The crew boss, Eric, kept us informed; asked for our opinion where choices were available and never brought an issue to our attention without a detailed and clear solution. The work proceeded as they had indicated and they left the site clean and organized each evening for the next days work. On one day; we had 12 or so electricians who all had their work assignments laid out and they all descended on the house and got to work and stayed at work until the end of the job. It was like watching a ballet to see how they managed from the crawl space to the knee walls in the second story. The house was built in 1922 and had had some "do it yourself" work done which was not done correctly or to code; In house called out all the work to be done during the estimating process so that we knew what the dimensions and cost of the job were well in advance. All of the crew seemed to take great pride in their work and treated our home with respect.
Description of Work: We bought a small house built in 1922 which had been in foreclosure. We had an inspection done and knew we needed extensive electrical work done to make the house liveable and safe! We needed to have the house completely rewired from the power pole thru the strikepoint to the house to the wiring in the house, new switches , outlets, and breaker box.

I had a list of electrical items that either needed repair or replacement (note above) I will say upfront, this was about as perfect an experience as I could’ve hoped for. Please consider the above list…there’s the potential for all sorts of things to go wrong, but nothing did. First, I called the provided number and got Lucas, who scheduled a meeting to come out and do an estimate the next day. He was right on time…I mean, to the second. He was super polite, listened to all my questions and concerns, and answered them in a way that I could understand. He was also very positive and if something was either difficult to do or too expensive to do, he was able to present options that I could appreciate. We scheduled the work for a few weeks later and, on the date scheduled, the crew showed up right on time. The lead of the crew was Ryan: he was also super polite. In addition, you could really tell that he knew what he was doing. It took two days for them complete every project and they were diligent every moment they were in my house, constantly laboring to get the job done. Concerning the work itself, it looks great: very clean and squared away. The city inspector (I guess they have to inspect all work like this) said it looked great – it passed the inspection with flying colors. Their carpentry technician, David, started his part of the repairs about three weeks after the primary electrical work was done. His focus was to patch all the sheetrock. Like his counterparts, he was helpful, very polite, and a meticulous worker. The repairs look great. David also did some add-on work for me: installing a GFR in the bathroom and finishing repairs on the doorbell. As noted, it was all super high quality – I am very happy. I can’t recommend In-House enough. They do great work and they put the customer first. I don’t think you could ask for much more!
Description of Work: - Replace a mid-century circuit breaker panel. From what I understand it was made with poor quality aluminum and had the potential to explode into a ball of white-hot fire at any moment. Bottom line: it was old and didn’t get anywhere near meeting code, which meant, at the very least, it would make selling the house a problem Relocate the same breaker panel. Once again, one of those “has to be in code” things. It can’t be in a closet or a bathroom. So we had to move it about 15 feet, along an outside wall - Replace four wall mounted heater units - Repair one wall mounted heater units - Install an outside GFR outlet - Install a shed light switch - Repair the doorbell - Wire a motion sensor so it could be switched off - Patch repair any sheetrock damage required for the above repairs

** 2/24/2015 Its been a year - no inspection. Going to call the city and pay for my own inspection. Although I do have some more electrical work I would like done, I will not use this service again. ** As of 8/6/2014, I am still awaiting official inspection on the work which was quoted in the price I contacted them back in June and will attempt again this week. I still believe the work quality was good, but do not consider the job complete... Because of this I will begin marking down the responsiveness and professionalism. Technician (Chris) showed up for pre-inspection promptly for hot tub rewire/install. After discussing what needed to be done, I asked a few questions about getting a new main breaker panel - process/cost/etc. He answered all of my questions and provided me with an estimate for the hot tub work AND a separate estimate for the hot tub work + the new panel (with them being performed at the same time) AND a separate estimate for the panel install as a separate visit. I decided on getting them both done at the same time (it was a bit cheaper). Day of work, Chris showed up a little early and ready to go. Hot-tub rewire was completed plus most of the prep work for the new panel. Day two started with permit in hand, and about an hour of work before coordinating with the PUD to secure power to the house. ~ 4 hours later, power was back up and the new panel was in place. Last day was just some labelling and circuit chasing. Overall, Each day started promptly and ended as scheduled. Work site was cleaned each day. Service was friendly and professional. Answered many questions over the course of the work. Bottom line - I received quality work for a fair price with service that was friendly, responsive, and professional at the time of work. Follow up permit inspection was not performed even after I called and requested. The service's ability to navigate permits and inspections appears to be questionable. I will not use the service again.

They were scheduled to start at 8 am, and they arrived early each day and waited in their vehicle until the scheduled start time. I found all the workers to be courtesy, respectful and professional. Three different employees from the company worked on my project. All were focused on their work and took limited breaks. All the workers kept their messes to a minimum and did an outstanding job of cleaning after themselves. The project took three full days, with 1 employee working on the first day and 2 of them working on the second day. After all the lights were installed and the wiring completed, the company hired and paid a city inspector to come to the house and approve the work. The inspection passed with flying colors and then the company sent a 3rd employee, who came out and patched all the holes and finalized the project. The project turned out great. It both enhanced and modernized my house, and increased my home's value. I'm a very satisfied customer.
Description of Work: They removed one piece of track lighting and 4 flush mount ceiling lights and installed 11 recessed LED lights and dimmer switches: 4 lights in my living room, 3 lights in my kitchen and 4 in my recreation room. I bought the lights and dimmer switches separately. They patched the holes from the existing lights they removed, plus holes that needed to be created to run the wiring through my very narrow downstairs ceiling (two story house). They also removed an old Chandelier and replaced it with a new one I purchased, for no extra charge.

They were very professional and polite. They cleaned up after themselves and and kept me informed the entire time of things that needed done. They also saved me money when they could. Lucas would check in with me to make sure everything was taken care of at top notch. They even worked on the trench in the rain one day. There was a point where I had to leave the house while they were working and I felt totally comfortable with them there. They were fantastic! I would definitely use them again in the future. They were totally spot on and I can't say enough good things about them!
Description of Work: We have a 33 foot RV and we needed to have electrical power routed to it from our home. They had to dig a trench in our yard to get our electricity from our house to our RV. We also had some wires that were burnt in our fuse box which they fixed as well so we wouldn't lose power in other areas of our home. This could have potentially been dangerous and sparked a fire if they hadn't fixed it. He also put up a light sensor so that a light would go on when you came up in our driveway as well as our walkway.

Listened closely to my questions and addressed them all in terms that I could understand(I'm not very technical). They arrived right on time, were courteous about taking off shoes and careful in my house, even when going behind heavy large furniture. The report that I received when they left was clear and concise and they walked through each item and answered any questions that I had. I would definitely use them again for problem areas identified in the inspection or anything else that might come up.
