Half of my house lost power and it was a Saturday. I called Lucas and left a message. He promptly called me back and I explained the issue. He provided me with the fee for service since it was a Saturday and the cost for troubleshooting. He got here and quickly showed me the issue which was a burned out switch. He explained to me what happened and that it was covered under the cost. He even offered to fill the open spaces with old switches so that no one shock themselves in the slots open. Overall great service, timely and well work the money!

I spent more than $6000 on that work. They were absolutely the best. They did what they said they were going to do and when they said they were going to do it. They picked up their mess every single day that they were here. They always left me with power. It is an old house and they went through a lot of trouble to maintain the integrity and the character of this house and it was hard for them to do that, but they did it. They took the trouble to rewire the house without ruining anything.

The original service call was done efficiently and in less than 1 hour. When the company sent the electricians to replace the main breaker box they did a great job and there was hardly any cleanup after they left. After they left I checked in the attic to see if they had replaced the run of 10gage wire that was supposed to be replaced. I found that it had not been replaced where I was checking. I called and the electrician that had wrote the estimate came and found there was a misunderstanding by the electricians that were doing the work and the original estimate. The estimate did not make it clear that there were two breaks in the 10gage wire. They were supposed to replace the whole run which was done. All in all I am VERY happy with the work done and in the future if I need electrical work done I will call them.
Description of Work: The original visit was to determine why there was no power to my outside shop. They determined that the problem was a bad breaker in the shop. That was replaced and all is well. After they completed the original service call they told me that the main breaker box in my house should be replaced. They said the box was the second worst ever made and has a history of the breakers not working correctly in an overload condition. They gave me an estimate for replacing the main box that I felt was quit reasonable considering all of the wires involved. They also informed me that the 10gage wire that went to my shop had been cut and 12gage wire had been spliced into the run. This wire was on a 30 amp breaker which is not according to code. Correcting this condition was part of the estimate given.

They did excellent work. We had an inspector come first and then the guy came to do the patch up work. So, the whole thing was done by the 19th of May. I spent $7700 for the job which included the tax and everything. The man who does a lot of the estimating and the contracting came out. He indicated that he really wanted to see why the outlet in the kitchen stopped working. So, he opened up the surrounding outlets and then found the burnt purple twister connecting nuts. The end of the wire was also burnt in one of the outlets. I also have a friend who is an electrical engineer and he informed me about an article which had the dangers and hazards of aluminum wiring. The article essentially recommended against the purple twister nuts that are commonly used. I got approximately 6 estimates and one of them was as low as $1200. I went against the general trend of thinking. In-House Electrical had a very competitive bid. They are fairly young guys who work together. We had as many as 5 of them at a time in the house. I found them to be very friendly and very cooperative as the process was going on. I added some things which cost another $1200 or $1500. I wanted a new wall panel where the electricity enters the house. So, that added to the price considerably. There were a couple of other adjustments done. We added some things and I found them to be very cooperative for making adjustments along the way. I wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again.
Description of Work: In-House Electrical Services Inc. replaced the aluminum wiring for me. They started on May 9th and finished on May 16th. They installed some lights in the living room to focus on the mantel. They installed a light in the closet and an outlet in the front of the house that had not been there before. They put in all new switches and all new outlets. They also did the whole patch work up to the paint, but they didn’t get involved with the painting.

The electricians from In-House Electrical Services Inc. Company did a great job. They were courteous. They were professional. It was a two part job as they had to order some parts. When the parts they came in they came back. The work was done in a timely manner. The price would have been more but they worked a deal with us. I would use them again in the future.

It never went anywhere. There has been time to e-mail or call me by now. If I got an e-mail saying not interested, then that is fine. I put a lot of effort into reviewing and finding contractors and Lucas had such great ratings
Description of Work: I rely on Angies list and have had very good luck with most contractors/providers. In-House Electric was an odd experience. Lucas came out on March 16th to see our project. He was on time and professional. He said he would have a quote to me by Friday, the 18th. I left a message for him with a reminder of my e-mail and contact information on March 18th . He never called back.No quote came by today, March 22nd. It's odd. He seemed like he was interested. If there was no interest, he could have e-mailed by now.

In-House Electric has set the bar for all other contractors we use. We have had several contractors in the past six months for various projects, and this company has been the best -- by far! They work very hard, and their goal is to make the customer happy with their service. We would love to see other contractors emulate the way they started the job. They arrived on Day 1 with the sales representative and all workmen for the project. We walked through the job all together. This eliminated all the confusion between the sales rep and workmen that seems to be the biggest problem we see with contractors.
Description of Work: Rewired nearly all outlets in house and added several outlets. Upgraded electrical panel.

Our house had a nearly 50 year old electrical panel that had been recalled. I called several electricians. Got two bids. In-house answered phone promptly, arranged for estimate quickly. Patrick called ahead because he was running about 30 min late. He provided a detailed written estimate at a good price. He described the work and told me there would be "some" hockey puck sized holes in the ceiling. It turned out there were over 30. The ceiling looks like Swiss cheese and will cost (per his initial estimate, $800-$1000 to repair). That was a bit of a shock, esp since no one called me to tell me that's how things were going. Patrick did call me back and offered to make some accomodations to have the ceiling repaired, but we have not scheduled yet. They did arrange for the required permit and inspection, which went fine.

In-House electric was very friendly and professional. They provided an estimate that included the cost for the basic work I wanted done, and then what costs would be for additional items I was considering. The estimate was accurate, or, in any case, they stuck to it. I was 1000 miles away while they were doing the work, so had to have someone else be their local contact, but I appreciated that they contacted me to ask me specifics of what I wanted on a couple of items - that said, there were a couple of other small decisions they made without asking where I would have made a different decision. Once these items were pointed out, though, they fixed them to my satisfaction without any additional cost. If I had been able to be on location - or at least check in regularly while the work was being done - I have no doubt there would have been no communication issues at all. They did end up starting the job about a week later than originally scheduled, though I'm not sure how much of that was their scheduling conflicts and how much of that was what they arranged with the relative I had locally overseeing the job. Overall, I was very happy, and if I have any further electrical work to be done, I will definitely plan to hire them to do it. In fact, after they were done with the job on my house, my parents hired them to do some work at their house. I would highly recommend In-House Electric to anyone needing to have any electrical work done, whether the job be big or small.

The company had to reschedule the installation appointment once but when the work was done it was professional! Even the process of getting the orignal estimate was great. Lucas said he could do all that I was looking for, gave me a bid and a timeline. Everything was done in one day. Lastly, the cost was actually lower than I'd recieved from two other electricians. I would definitely recomend this company to my friends and family.

The first part of the job was estimated to take two days, which took exactly two days. The second part they estimated would take four days, but there were some serious difficulties with the way our house is built (multiple additions) and then the various additional requests that we ended up having them do. In all, it took nearly three weeks but as I said--they did A LOT of work, and most days there was just one electrician. The crew was extremely professional, always polite and friendly with our two kids. They would arrive every day at about 8 AM and leave around 4 PM. We have been given a gift certificate for a house cleaning service that we will definitely use!
Description of Work: Our home pro inspection six years ago revealed numerous problems, but it took us a while to get around to fixing them, as we knew it would be a very extensive job. Originally, we had them come out to move an electrical panel to make it up to code, fix the wiring in our kitchen and move a generator switch to the inside of the garage rather than the inside of our house. The original bid for the work was about $1500. In the course of doing the panel, they found out that more than half of our house was on old knob-and-tube wiring from 1959 that had never been upgraded. There were also many places with splices and electrical tape holding things together along with some blackening of the surfaces around the splices. They recommended rewiring all of the old stuff and we added a few extra outlets, new lights to the inside and outside of the house. The rewire portion was estimated to cost about $5500. The garage was also found to have poorly done wiring, so they did that as well. In the end, my husband also had them run ethernet cable and install ports in four rooms. In addition, they hard-wired smoke detectors, replaced every light switch (some with dimmers, occupancy detectors, etc), changed out every electrical outlet, installed two external outlets, fixed a fluorescent light, reinstalled our home thermostat, and installed various new light fixtures in several rooms. They did A LOT!

They arrived when they said they would and gave a fair bid. Once hired, there were some complications and delays but it seemed that PUD had a big part in that plus it was pouring rain when the repair work was being done. Lucas communicated very well through the whole process, which in my experience with these types of things, is half the battle. He also did not charge us for some things so our actual cost was less than the bid. We will definitely use this company again for our electrical needs.

I was pleasantly surprised by the price. They spent a lot of time doing the work and didn't charge as much as I expected. They had to go through the attic in order to drop the new electric lines through the wall space.
Description of Work: Lucas came with his partner and they did a really efficient job and were really patient, the price was reasonable. They brainstormed with us as to where the outlets should go. Ours is a 60s ranch style house and they were laying 3 new lines through the attic so the plugs could take stronger electric heaters.

When the appointment was set up, Patrick provided an estimate for the services discussed. Both he and Lucas arrived a bit late, but they had called to let us know this. They easily surveyed the work to be done and started on those items that could be completed at that time. For several of these items, additional materials were needed to be able to complete them. They offered useful suggestions and help when installing the new light fixture. The provided information regarding where we could purchase replacement fixtures to solve one of the problems. They scheduled a second appointment before they left to complete the remaining tasks. Their advice and help in installing/mounting the cable wires for the TV was fantastic.
Description of Work: We had several smaller items to be taken care of: 2 light switches that "changed settings" independently, a dead wall socket, a dead recessed light fixture, a dead outdoor recessed light fixture, a wall switch that "heated up," changing a cieling fixture, and wall mounting/moving cable connects for a TV.

Initially we settled on one small company, a referral from a friend, but when we got the demo done, we called several times over several days without any response. This is after that particular electrician had agreed to do the work for us. We quickly looked to Angies list for a replacement. We got several electrical bids before we started the job. Very few of the companies we got bids from were very professional, punctual, or reliable [we'd have to phone many of them several times just to get them to send us the bid]. Those that were, were just charging way too much. We also came across InHouse Electric on Angies and it was the best experience we've ever had with an electrician company. The other guys just weren't in the same class. Patrick came out to do the bid, and did all the roughin work. He and Lucas did the finish work together. At all times they were punctual, professional, accessible, and extremely polite. They were also the only ones who really worked within our budget and helped us get the most for our dollar. The inspections went smoothly, and the job was completed on time and budget, just like they promised. They did a couple complex circuits for us so we could control multiple lights from multiple parts of the house, and always cleaned up at the end of each day. It was really a totally different experience from any other experience we've ever had with any other electrician [and we've done 3 major remodels so we've dealt with many contractors] I'd have no hesitation in recommending Patrick and Lucas, they were just great to work with!
Description of Work: Patrick & Lucas did a complete rewire of our entire upstairs, including all bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, attic, etc. The did everything from roughin to final, including permits and inspections, and came back afterwards to help us with a faulty fixture [the manufacturers fault, not theirs]. They were great.
