Professional and knowledgeable. Identified issue that had likely been increasing electric bill. Paid 215 for inspection and then extra 300 for the filters, new pump, and to replace the fuse. New pump was around 200.00 and 80.00 to change the fuse. Seemed expensive to me but overall happy with the outcome.

It went very well. The service man that was here did an excellent job. He even called out a secondary service to check for mold and moisture under the subfloor. The bathroom was clean before he left.

It was terrible. I have had my home remodeled several times, so I am familiar with all levels of contractors and subcontractors. It is their responsibility to communicate in an understandable method- not to use short hand, nicknames and acronyms. I had no idea what a "home Run" was re: electrical wiring. Despite my frustration about continually having to ask what he was talking about, there were at least two areas of concern with regard to the wiring- adding to the breaker box, and re-wiring the island in my kitchen. The team that had come out said that they would have their sales manager call or email a bid for the suggested changes. It has been 6 weeks - NOTHING. Another complaint is that they moved furniture to check outlets, and then left it that way all over the house.
Description of Work: They were hired to perform a complete in-home electrical inspection, and make suggestions regarding areas of need. During this time I identified areas of concern.

They were here a whole bunch of times. They could make the heat pump work properly. The wiring is good, but they had to come back twice, to make things work properly.

I asked G&S for a quota on an AC unit. A sales rep, William, was prompt and thorough. He ran test that another company did not bother to do and discovered that I had an issue with the air flow in the system. Because of that the installation of a conventional AC unit is risky and he did not recommend it. The other company did not bother to run the required test and gave me a quote. If I accepted that quota and had AC installed it is likely that I would have significant problems with the coil freezing up because of air flow issues. I appreciate tradesman like William who are professional, thorough and honest - even though I did not end up doing what I wanted, based on his recommendation.

Both SNO PUD and Angie’s List had G&S on the list of highly recommended heating companies with excellent reviews. I had two other estimates previously but G&S had the best price for a ductless heat pump system and install so I went with them. I called them back to accept the bid and they were able to schedule the install three days later. The crew was on time, very professional and did exactly as the sales person said they would. I made a mistake that was completely my fault when I had them use an existing power supply rather than adding a new circuit in my panel. My service panel had the space for a new breaker but I wanted them to just use the old one I was disabling from the wall heaters that would no longer be used. The electrician asked me if I was sure several times and then he did as I requested. Well, of course I had screwed up and forgot that the bedroom heaters that I will still be using are on that same curcuit so needless to say, on the coldest day of the year so far, my bedroom heaters didn’t work. I only found this out when I woke up freezing and realized my mistake. I called G&S the next morning and explained the mistake that I had made. I told them that I realize that I will need to pay to have them come out and add a breaker to my panel and reconnect the two heaters. They were very busy but fit me in the next day as an exception (they actually offered to come out the same day but I was unavailable). Once the installer was done fixing my mistake I thanked him and told him I would call the office and make my payment right then. He told me that they were not going to charge me and that they would rather have a satisfied customer. They could easily have charge me hundreds of dollars for their time but they opted to put customer service first. I can’t thank G&S enough and I highly recommend them based on my great experience.

The guy spent 10 minutes in the basement, got freaked out by some cobwebs, then spent 10 minutes upstairs, quoted us over 10k. We got two other quotes for 2k and 3k by other respectable electricians. They did show up on time.

Great! Showed up on time and completed the job even faster than I was expecting. When they ran into some challenges (removing the old system) they just adapted and disassembled the old unit in the attic. Good guys too. They answered some questions my wife and I had. Will use them for all future projects that they are available for.

They did a really good job on everything, but they originally quoted me like 3 or 4 days and it ended up taking them, like, 10. It just took them a lot longer than they originally estimated. There was no problem with the work or the price. It was just a matter of like saying they will be done in 3-4 days and it took them a long, long time to get it all resolved. It was the estimation that was really the issue, but once the guy who came out to do the work came out, everything was perfectly fine after that. It was just the estimation that was way off. They were always there when they were supposed to be.
Description of Work: I used G & S Heating Cooling & Electric for a full house rewire.

Disappointed in there in ability to work with me to provide a bid outside of normal working hours. My wife and I work Monday through Friday the only time we were available to meet on site was evenings midweek or weekends. G and S provided no other solutions to work with us. I'm sure they do great work but the lack of flexibility didn't work for me. Will move onto another contractor.

We had them put in a unit for us and they come and service it yearly. They're a good company. We have been very pleased with them. We have this buzzing sound in our unit. It's working fine, but what is causing the unit to make this little beeping sound? It beeps when it's off. There is nothing that they can do, there is nothing that we have, I think it has to go back to the manufacturer. But they check it. Other than that, there isn't anything. They're very prompt, the company cars are marked, they've got name badges, you don't have any question that it's them when they're here. They're good if there are any changes. Their prices are right in line with other places. The people have been fantastic. We had two units in and it was a few thousand dollars and then it's costing about $100 and something yearly for the maintenance. They come and check the unit and make sure that it's heating and cooling properly, they clean the filters. So basically all I've got to do is, dust it once in a while. They come out once a year. We've got the yearly maintenance now for three or four years. They've been really good about it. We haven't had to call them and remind them that it's time. That is a very good thing. That's what I look for. When I get on a maintenance program with a company, I want them to keep me notified that it's time. We are pleased with them. We wish they could figure out this little buzzing sound, but they've checked it out and everything is working fine. So it's just something in the unit and they're working on it and I'm sure that they will get back to us on it. In the meantime, it's working, there is nothing anybody can do. They've been out twice this year, just to put my mind at ease, which is great. They are a very good company. If somebody called and they were looking for somebody in that job, I would recommend them without hesitancy.

Referred to G&S through COSTCO. After some confusion by the new sales rep over just what needed to be done and what the cost would be, we got it ironed out and accepted their bid. Their inspector visited a few days in advance of the installation to determine what the installers would need to bring. The installers arrived on schedule and removed our old unit, installed a new Lennox unit, modified the indoor air handler and replaced the thermostat. Then they thoroughly tested everything and patiently explained how everything worked, including how to work the new thermostat. Cleaned up everything before leaving. Great job. COSTCO provides a gift card for 10% of the price of the unit, excluding tax.

Every staff member I interacted with was professional. The a/c job took longer due to the challenges my attic space presented well as a wiring issue. Michael and Issak kept at it till they found a workaround to get everything installed where I wanted and the system to work fully.

About 4 years ago, I bought a York furnace and a natural-gas powered standby generator from G&S Heating. The furnace collection box cracked in several places, which caused the furnace to stop heating in January 2016. The after-hours service call cost $250 plus another $100 to have the technician clean the sensor, a fix that temporarily restored heat most of the time. The company ordered a new collection box, a part that is a known defect on this York furnace. York should have recalled it, but it did not, and now York is not paying for the part. However, G&S voluntarily paid for the part, and I'm grateful for that. Since it was January & it was cold, I assumed that G&S would ship the part by overnight or 2-day shipping. I was mistaken. It took a full week to get the part. During that week, no one from the office called to give me the status of the repair. If I wanted an update, I had to call them. The three times I called them about the pending repair, the people were extremely nice, but no one took the initiative to call me with updates. I’ve since talked with the service manager, and he said he is working to ensure that customers get timely updates. I also suggested that they ship parts by overnight or at least 2-day express. He is also taking that suggestion under advisement. Finally, eight days after the furnace went out, Allen, the technician, came and installed the new collection box. Allen is an excellent technician and he did very good work—at least the furnace is still working. The cost of labor to repair the furnace was $746. The technician was here approximately 1 1/2 hours. Doing the math, G&S charged $497/hour. Combined with the first service call, the total repair cost approximately $1,096. I talked to the service manager about this shockingly high labor charge on the second call, but he stood firm on the price. Eventually, however, he offered to pay for the upcoming service on my standby generator that was scheduled in a few weeks. Thankfully, that will save me $400. In summary, I give the technician and his work an A. While the customer service was lacking, I believe the service manager when he says he is working to improve communication with the customers. Also the plus side, G&S paid for the part (something that York should have done). If you use G&S, be sure to get an estimate for both parts and labor and ask them to give periodic updates on the ETA for parts.

Our electrical system is wonky in our bedroom. We asked G&S Heating to help us out. Two guys showed up and kind of fixed the problem. When they left we noticed that they burned out a brand new timer switch for a fan we had installed in another bathroom. We had no way of turning off that bathroom fan. So it stayed on until we could get them to come back to the house. They came out a few days later to resolve the issue and put in a temporary switch until we could buy a new one to replace the nice one we had installed. We scheduled the appointment for Thursday (Christmas Eve) as that was their earliest appointment. No one showed up. I tried contacting the office and they were gone for the holidays. Basically, we waited around for nothing. The person who scheduled the appointment did apologize and offered to have the guy come out today but with such a bad taste in my mouth I don't want them in our house. We spent good money and I feel like we got poor service and even poorer quality of work.
