Great. I was awakened at 2:30 in the morning with he detecters sounding off LOUDLY, again many times. We had replaced many of them 10 months ago. The loud warnings (along with EVACUATE! EVACUATE!) were horrible and my pets had a rough time, as did I. After taking the alarms down, I thought they wouldn't go off again, but they did. I called G&S at 1:30 Friday afternoon and SOMEHOW, Gary and his crew came after finishing a job earlier than expected. Thank goodness. He was very professional, sympathetic and got to work quickly. He found the wiring in a couple of the alarms was wrong, had to replace two faulty ones, reset the electrical box, showing me which ones would shut them up in case they ever went off again. I really appreciated their quick response, knowledge of their task and caring they didn't leave a mess behind. Thanks guys! I will certainly recommend them again. G&S was my second ductless system bid. My townhouse neighbors use the roll around portable A/C units to cool isolated sections of their homes but I wanted a system that did it all. Initial consult with Jesse was thorough and professional. Follow up scheduling, payment planning and customer care by Dawn was equally professional and accommodating. Workers got here promptly on appointed day. Immediately assessed the workload and called backup. They got it all done between 8:30 and 4:30 which even amazed them. I had one refrigerant leak after 3 weeks. Technician was out here during 4-hour scheduled window and repaired leak. All is well and I'm freezing happily ever after.

We called Saturday when our hot water heater went out. A nice, professional technician came out promptly, said he thought he could fix it but had to make sure he could find a part. He said he'd be in touch Monday and gave us his cell number. Monday morning we texted for an update, "Any news?" Got a text back, "Not yet." Tuesday morning we texted for an update. No answer. Wednesday morning we texted for an update. No answer. At noon I called the company to find out what was going on. A nice young woman sent me to someone's voicemail, saying that she was "out on a job" but would get back to us promptly. Wednesday evening, and nobody has gotten back to us. Now we have to pay another company to come out and do the diagnostic before we can get it fixed, so $230 down the drain. And I haven't had anything but cold showers since Saturday. Update: It's now Friday evening, and we've heard absolutely nothing.

GS Heating replaced my furnace with a Lennox energy efficient system. With the exception of the install techs not showing up when they were supposed to, the work was done well and went off without a hitch. Additionally, I had a cracked cooling pan in my a/c unit which the installation tech (Ryan) inspected to let me know if I would need to replace the entire a/c or just the cooling pan. He found out that they would be able to obtain a cooling pan from the manufacturer to replace just the pan and that I wouldn't need to replace the entire a/c unit. He decided at the time to calk the two areas where the unit was leaking in the garage and asked me to wait until summer time to see if that fixed the issue or not. Summer is here and I noticed that his solution didn't work so I called the office to have them come out to replace the cooling pan. At this point, the office manager/receptionist (Diane) indicated that Ryan had not put anything into their system as a note and that she would have to charge me for a tech to come out to do an evaluation. I told her what Ryan had shared with me but she said, "Well, there are no notes in the system, so we have to charge you to do an assessment of the system." What's unfortunate is that I had a great experience with them for the installation of the furnace but now I feel like they don't care that I'm a potential repeat customer. She told me that since I opted to not have the a/c fixed in the winter (which Ryan told me to wait until summer to see if the calking of the leak might fix the issue) I have to pay for another tech to come out an confirm what Ryan told me they could do - replace the cooling pan. She went on to say that since it's summer they've got a lot of people who need/want installs and essentially the gist of what I was getting from her was, "we don't really need to do anything to win your business again". I guess when it's winter time, I'd get better customer service for the a/c than now in the summer???? I'm disappointed to say the least. I don't want to pay what I consider a redundant fee for what has already been diagnosed needs to be done. The owner, who I spoke with back in November was the main reason I went with GS Heating because he was upfront and seemed truly interested in winning my business. I called Diane back and asked her to have the owner call me to see if he's able to resolve this situation. Since the install tech didn't put notes in their system about my a/c issue back in November, I feel I'm having to pay for someone to come out and re-diagnose what he found in November. My rational for giving GS Heating a C on Professionalism and indicating that I wouldn't use them in the future is due to a lack of follow through and attention to detail by the tech in entering notes into their system about the potential business they could have in replacing my cooling pan.

He was able to confirm some of my issues with outdated electrical wiring and the need for a panel upgrade. He checked all outlets to determine if they were grounded and took a visual look around. I did expect a bit more of an in depth inspection and a more detailed report. However, I should have taken the time to ask details on what a whole house inspection would involve. Overall, the inspector was nice, punctual, and knowledgeable. He provided a quote for the upgrading the panel in a timely fashion.

We got quotes from 3 different service providers and although they were similar in price, G &S explained more about the different types of furnaces available and seemed more knowledgeable than the other two providers. They were very professional, arrived on time, and completed the job in less time than was originally estimated. The owner also came back a week or two later to check on the system to make sure it was operating properly. This is the second time we have used them, the first time was for electrical work and we will most definitely use them again.

First, we called the company about our old furnace, that was doing a weird noise. The attendant told me that the visit would cost $85. Then they sent the diagnostic expert to see what was going on. After around 2,5 hours of service, the specialist said that we needed to replace the furnace, as the 28 years old one was condemned. At the end of the visit, they charged $85 for the visit + $(*) for every 15min of service. *I don't remember exactly how much was every 15 min, but the total was around $450. I was not told about the extra cost for every 15 min of service. They have a deal was that if you replace the furnace with G & S, they won't charge you for the diagnostic. In a first moment, I didn't want to continue the service by G & S, as I didn't like the surprise of having to pay 5 times the price I was told. I cancelled the next visit and was already looking for another company to have the job done. However, this got to the knowledge of the owner Roger Thompson, who promptely called us to understand what was going on. His attention with the case made us changed our mind. He investigated, and admitted the there was a mistake from their side. He offered to charge us only the $85 that I was told. After seeing his care about the case and honesty, we decided to give them a second chance. And We're happy we did it. Than the schedule a visit of a salesperson, who presented to us all our options. After we decided which one we wanted, things happened really fast: on Monday they sent a guy to take the measures (sorry, i don't know how this profession is called). On Wednesday, the guys came early and and got the job done. At night, my house was warm and nice again. On the week that followed, they sent the same salesperson again, for a quality follow up. Everything was perfect. Very nice job. Trustful company.

G&S sent out separate teams of technicians for each of our jobs, and all were very professional and courteous. The water heater service fee was $129, which was eventually removed from the total invoice. We ended up paying $2,095.83 for the replacement of our water heater. The service fee for electrical work was waived, and the technicians communicated well with us on what we were planning for the future in regards to the eventual upgrading of additional circuits within our house. Drywall was removed to install the larger electrical panel and wiring, and it was replaced but the finishing work was not included in our cost. Our invoice for these tasks was $3,607. Overall, care was taken by the technicians - they removed their shoes when inside and laid down dropcloths and cardboard on our hardwood floors. We do wish that technicians had laid dropcloths or sheets (or advised us to do so) around the electrical panel, as dust from drywall removal got everywhere.
Description of Work: Water heater service and electrical upgrades G&S replaced our 14-year-old water heater (removal of existing 50-gal electric tank; installation of new 40-gal tank; added earthquake strapping, expansion tank, drain pan; sealed hole at furnace/coil connecting; insulated refrigerant pipe at furnace). The cost was awesome and they even talked me into a deal where I do a bi-yearly program for way cheaper and it fits me on a preferred customer list if I have a problem and I don’t have to pay any weekend charges if I have an emergency. The guy that came out took apart every part of my furnace and my heat pump and checked every single thing you can check. Even though it was winter time, he did my air conditioning part too for me because I was concerned that it was making a funny noise and he explained everything to me. He explained that those make a noise like that, but he also did make it less. The guy who came here made me feel comfortable and he was just very comforting and professional.

I contacted them on 1/26 for an appointment about servicing my heat pump. Was told the appt. was Wednesday 1/28 between noon and 4. On Wed, I was home at noon and called their office to let them know I was here and available. After taking five hours off work for this appt, I was told the appt was for the following day. I told them I had taken the day off and was not available the following day. They agreed to get it done that day. By 3 pm no call. I called them. Response was that I was next on the list. At 4:15 no call and no show. I called them. I was told the same thing - I was next on the list. At 4:30 I received a call from service tech Eric saying they were on their way and would be there in 15-20 minutes. They arrived after 5 pm. When they were done testing the system, they mentioned that the system was 22 years old yet was working fine. Also let me know that a replacement heat pump system was $12,000 to $20,000 and that I should start saving now for that, if I have not already. Then they told me that the Run Capacitor should be at 75 and 10 microfarads, and that it was at 38 and 8 microfarads. Replacement cost for the capacitor is $165 included in the bill. They did not have one with them at the time, but they could bring one tomorrow on the way home. Then I was bombarded with the sales pitch for the service contract, which I opted out of. Ten percent off on parts,and no overtime labor costs. So, if the system breaks, I win, by scoring savings, but if it does not break, I lose twice. Once because I have paid them $275 per year and the other I lose because I did not win the savings. I agreed to the $165 to keep the thing running optimally and I paid them by check. After they left, I went out to check what they did. I expected them to do a preventive maintenance. I had told them that the fans seemed noisy. They did not check the fans. The previous service tech I had here to do the same thing, left the heat pump and furnace clean of cob webs, and checked the brushes in the fan motors. I know they did not check the fans because you cannot remove the fan covers without removing the cob webs. After paying almost $600, I need to replace the brushes on both fan motors myself. The appointment was yesterday. Tonight when I got home from work, they had not been here to replace the high dollar capacitor, and they never called to tell me they were here or not. Never left a business card. The cover was not removed on the system today. It was taped in an inconspicuous spot and it was not moved. I feel scammed. I took five hours off work for nothing. They wrote the appointment date down wrong. They were over an hour later than the latest time they told me to expect them. They did not do the entire job I expected. They led me to believe that I needed the Run capacitor and lied to me about coming back to replace it the following day. No call. No show. No job. Never again. Beware of doing business with them.

I contacted Roger Thompson the owner and he called me back and set up an appointment. The next day Gary came out and assessed the job and gave us an estimate. They did the job Christmas week. Great group of guys! They did the job quickly and efficiently. Gary, Robert and all of the guys are knowledgeable and very patient with our questions. Robert advised us that were not receiving as much power as we should and told us to call our power company and have it recalibrated. (PSE did see a problem and fixed it immediately.) January 15, Robert and Nathan came back out to replace a ceiling fan we had ordered and to change the welder outlet as our welder is an older one and didn't match the original outlet they installed. Fantastic job! They cleaned up after themselves and filled the ditch dug for the added lines to the shop. We would definitely call G&S Heating again!!

My zone damper motors in my HVAC system were clicking and grinding so I called G&S Heating to have them replaced. I took a picture of one of the existing motors and supplied the part number to G&S via email. I spoke to the service manager and asked him to order four motors. He said he would and scheduled an appointment late the following week for a technician to come install them. When the technician arrived the first time, he was empty handed and stated they do not order and replace parts at customer's request. They must perform their own diagnosis. I was charged $349 for this. I am extremely disappointed to have been told they would order the parts I requested then show up without them and still charge me for the call out. I understand charging for the diagnosis portion, but would have appreciated them being straight with me up front. The technician said I only really needed three damper motors. I then asked him to order the three plus a fourth as a spare, which he said he would. On 1/16, I called G&S Heating to see if the parts had arrived so I could schedule an appointment. They informed me the technician was on his way to my home with the parts. I had no idea the technician was returning that day so it was fortunate I called since I was at work. Who does this to their customers? Just showing up like this is silly. I was able to get off work and arrive at my house before the technician. He then spent most of the day working to replace the damper motors. The new motors they ordered did not fit on the existing brackets so he said he could leave, fabricate mounting brackets, and come back a third time with mounting hardware. I instead chose to fabricate extensions to the existing brackets while the technician took his lunch break. The technician was then able to install the motors correctly. I was charged $916 for the parts and labor that day. After the technician left, he called and said he forgot to charge me for the spare damper motor and said he would have the office contact me. On 1/20 I called the office to pay for the spare damper motor. I spoke with Joie who stated the cost for the spare would be a bit over $280. I asked why it cost so much. She stated it was because they intended to install it, even though I asked for it as a spare. They only charged me $254 w/tax each for the three the guy spent all day installing, and now have the audacity to mark the price of the spare motor I ordered up even higher when no labor was involved nor was there any intention of them installing it. I am left feeling G & S Heating doesn't follow through on what they say they will do and has questionable billing practices. I will not do business with them again, and would not recommend them to anyone.

It went great! I've used G&S Heating in the past to replace a dead heat pump and furnace and they did a fantastic job; well now it was time to upgrade from our electric hot water heater to a new hybrid (heat pump) hot water heater; the tech showed up time, was clean and professional, explained what he was doing and the options I had, installed the new tank system, cleaned up after himself and then explained the operation and maintenance requirements; I will use them again for sure!

I called for an electrician on Sunday November 9th and was able to get an electrician by Monday early afternoon on November 10th. Gary, the electrician, was friendly, professional and efficient. I have a very old jerry-rigged electrical system and he is going to send me a bid for replacing the panels and re-wiring in the next few days.

We've been using them for four years. Their price was fair, it was good.
Description of Work: They did summer preventive maintenance on our heat pump which they do it twice a year. They originally installed the heat pump and they kept it run.
