They were great. They have reasonable price. We have used them in the past and they have been fair. They were professional.

Dan & Justina have always done a professional, thorough job. They obviously love what they do and take great pride in doing solid work. I trust them to tell me that my tall trees are safe. I don't take this information lightly as our neighbor did not take such care and an 80 foot tree fell on my home during a wind storm.
Description of Work: I have used these kind folks a couple of times to trim and inspect the tall fir and cedar trees in my yard.

Champion did an excellent job. A large tree was trimmed on schedule and on budget. The workers are very concerned with their own safety, and they showed a sincere interest in the health of the tree. Champion even cut a top branch at an angle to prevent rain puddles and future decay.

Dan from Champion Tree Care came out on a Saturday to make an estimate, and since the job was not an emergency, later set a date in late November to do the work. The price was very reasonable, compared to other tree companies we have used. Although the Tuesday they arrived was very rainy, the three guys took about 3 hours to do the work. They cleaned up the area very well, and also cleaned up a couple piles of branches that I had previously trimmed from some other trees. They cut the logs into 16-inch sections, moved them off the back lawn, and piled them by our woodshed in the back yard. The total price with tax came to about $1500. They even correctly calculated the tax for Snohomish county, which few other service companies do -- we live just across the line from King county. We are relieved that the trees no longer pose a hazard to our home, are very pleased with Champion Tree Care, and appreciate that they did the job even in bad weather.
Description of Work: Two large fir trees in our back yard had been doing poorly for a year or so. We kept hoping they would recover, but an arborist confirmed our suspicions that they needed to be removed. A bigleaf maple tree by the driveway also had a big limb growing out at an angle that was likely to split the top of the tree. The arborist recommended that the limb be removed.

Dan and his crew did a superb job trimming some giant maple trees in our yard. They're very safety-conscious, and they knew exactly what they're doing. They work quickly and efficiently, and do a thorough clean-up job afterward. I'll hire them again when I need further work on our residential trees. The office was also very helpful with scheduling. The firm has arborists on staff to evaluate the proper care and maintenance of trees.
Description of Work: We needed to have some large branches trimmed from large trees (30-60 ft. tall). The branches were too close to our house.

Description of Work: They were champions from beginning to end; I have never had so much GOOD to say about any contractor I have ever had and I have had many of them over the years. They ranged from horrible to indifferent to okay and occasionally good. This job is A+. I got five bids; Champions Tree Service was the only bidder that told me a rate per man per hour and said it could go longer or shorter hours. The top bid was $3,400;Champion's was $1,200; plus tax for each. I had five bids.Their start time was to be 8:30a; they arrived at 7:55a; rather apologetically said that they were "way early" and seemed ready to wait. I was ready for them; they had the work order; I had my copy and we walked through the job and services to be done; tree by tree. I am picky; I've learned that I'd better be. They did everything right. The were pleasant, cheerful, hardworking and wanted to please. Casey was foreman, Jeff was his helper; they went above and beyond. At times there were strong gusts of wind, rain, and at the last a real downpour. I am so thrilled with the whole episode. I will certainly call them next time I need tree services.

Dan (owner) and Kasey arrived on time and began work promptly. All jobs were performed quickly and thoroughly. It was a pleasure working with Dan and Justina on this project. Have recommended Champion Tree Care to two friends who are looking for a quality tree service. Overall experience was outstanding and will be scheduling Champion for additional work this October.

The company we wanted to use, Seattle Tree Preservation, no longer serviced our area, and they strongly recommended Champion Tree Care to us. Dan came over to give us an estimate on the same day I called. His estimate was very reasonable, but his availability was 3 weeks out. I expressed my concern over the tent caterpillars that had infested our cherry tree, and Dan said he would try to fit us in if there was a cancellation. 5 days later, they called & got us on their calendar for the following day. We had a last minute change of heart and decided to keep the cedar tree that we had originally told Dan to remove, and didn't inform him until he & his crew showed up. While it was obvious that Dan had brought extra crew just for the removal of the cedar tree, he was extremely gracious and understanding, and said it was okay. The entire crew was very polite, professional and efficient. They completed the task in about 3 hours and we were very happy with the result. We would gladly recommend them and would definitely use again should the need arise.

It was great from start to finish. Dan was friendly, professional, and had no trouble being flexible with our work schedule. We were a complicated job -- we wanted one tree felled and cut for stovewood, one tree felled and milled for the planks, a third trunk (previously fallen) milled for planks, and we wanted to keep the chips for mulch -- and he didn't even blink. The finished milled planks are beautiful and we're excited to use them in a project. He even ran our own brushpile through the chipper and didn't even charge extra. His bid was very reasonable and the finished charge was spot on. We've gotten lots of compliments from the neighbors. We'll definitely use him again and we're already recommending him to friends!
Description of Work: Dan removed two trees. One was a large madrona snag that was leaning out over a easement; Dan used rope supports from a neighboring tree, cut the madrona into rounds specifically sized for our wood stove, and ground the stump. The second tree was a medium western white pine that was leaning towards our house; Dan limbed this tree, felled the main bole, and cut it into slabs on the property using an Alaskan sawmill. He also milled a third trunk from a tree that had fallen on the property two months before.

Description of Work: They removed a 25 foot blue spruce that was close to the house. They brought it down in sections so as not to disturb my plants. They also pruned a plum tree. They ground up the tree and limbs and raked the area. Very pleased with the service.

Justina and Dan are the husband and wife owners of this company, and are both certified arborists. Justina came to my house to do the free estimate and Dan performed the tree removal. I had met Justina once before and was impressed with her professional manner and extensive knowledge. My back yard is bordered by a small forest with mature Douglas Firs, a Cedar, a Hazelnut, and a Vine Maple. She not only gave me information about how I should care for the trees, but gave me advice about planting in the center of the yard, which I intend to landscape in the near future. I had expected a little damage to the Rhododendron that surrounded the Vine Maple that was removed, but Dan performed the work carefully and not a bit of damage was done! He also did a great job of cleaning up afterward. This company will take care of all my future tree needs, and charge about half of what other companies charge.

They charged me $246. They came out and gave us recommendations regarding options about the tree. We had another ornamental tree in a corner that needed shaping and some branches removed. They also did that. So 2 people came out and cut and shaped our cherry tree and seemed to do a very nice job on that. The tree had a bunch of caterpillars on it. They protected our windows with big boards so nothing happened to our windows. It was my first time using them.
Description of Work: I used Champion Tree Care yesterday to take down a bout a third of our cherry tree. They took the branches down and cleaned up well and they put them in a chipper and blew everything that was left and drove it all away.

This company is very professional. When out to make a bid we were listened to and heard regarding what we wanted. The recommendation of what could be done to meet our wishes, and quote were prompt. The crew arrived on time as scheduled, completed the work as scheduled and did a complete cleanup. The new trees were much larger than we expected which was a very pleasant surprise. Would recommend without hesitation and will use again.

Dan and his crew showed up right on time and was quick to start work and finished within hours. Everyone was professional and cleaned up after themselves without fuss. I have nothing but good things to say about Champion Tree Services and the fact that Dan has a side business of rescuing cat from trees will definitely have me using their company again. Thanks
Description of Work: Dan from Champion Tree Services was quick to provide a free quote about two weeks ago and was able to trim up large limbs on the bottoms of nine pine trees and remove a large pine tree.
