Center Construction did a really good job. The guy was nice.

Boyd (Pooi) and his team are outstanding. They are wonderful from start to finish. Pooi showed me his portfolio of projects while he wrote the step-by-step detail bid. Our project was started on-time, completed on-time and on budget even with the unexpected complication caused by the cable lines. Our and our neighbor?s lines from both cable companies were just an inch underground instead of the required depth. They were dug up during construction. Pooi and crew added several tubes for the cable lines and waited patiently for cable companies. Our lines are now buried safely under the driveway for the first time! Pooi refused to accept additional money for the unexpected work and time wasted. After the driveway is done, they spread out the extra soil and made the side of our driveway much cleaner. They also made the driveway and transition to side walk a little bigger and nicer with no extra cost. The driveway is beautiful! It makes the house look bigger. We highly recommend Center Construction. They are experienced professionals you can trust. They do honest and quality work. They show a lot of pride in what they do and they are a great family crew to work with!

Boyd and his crew were absolutely fabulous! Hard working, professional, diligent, dependable and thorough. I found Boyd via Angie's list, compared his company and several other choices including cross checking licensing and BBB sites. Boyd came out tops across the board, without question. (Now I know why - he is the best of the best.) Still nervous about choosing somebody to do this job, upon meeting Boyd I immediately knew I was dealing with a professional, knowledgeable, honest and dependable person. He very patiently answered all my questions. His bid was written out step by step that I could easily understand and he did exactly as he had mapped out. There were no surprises. The driveway is fabulous! The tie into the porch is fabulous! My immediate neighbor hired Boyd at the same time I did to do their driveway as well as a very large patio in their backyard. They are also delighted with the results! The day the driveway was poured another neighbor could not wait for me to get home from work to tell me how beautiful the driveway turned out so she called me on my cell! One of her friends who retired from construction was so impressed with the work site he watched the pour and made it a point to meet Boyd and his crew. He was extremely impressed with Boyd, his crew and the driveway!! I am not the only happy camper - all my neighbors are very thankful that my eyesore is gone and they can safely walk up my driveway without breaking an ankle! I can't thank you enough, Boyd.

I just moved here from California. and needed some concrete work done so i joined Angies list, and like the reviews i read about Center Const. I called and Boyd stopped by that day. Boyd is very honest and does very good work.. I will have Boyd do all of my concrete work in the future

Center Construction was absolutely fantastic. After a terrible experience in starting our project with a different Angie's List concrete contractor, we called Boyd, who had done our other bid. Hindsight is always 20/20. We explained the situation, he came back out, and gave us a new bid based on some newly discovered issues. He is experienced, honest and fair; and he clearly knows what he is doing. During the course of the ~2 week project he met every deadline he offered (e.g. start date, length of pour, etc), except when circumstances were out of his control (e.g. the city decided to pave our street the day he was supposed to bring the concrete truck and pour....). He maintained excellent communication with us throughout the project. Our next door neighbor, a licensed general contractor, monitored the work while we were out of town for a portion of it, and was equally impressed by Boyd's work and professionalism. Boyd and his crew were always on time, they worked hard throughout the entire day (no smoke breaks or hour long lunches, for example) and kept our home, basement, and property clean and tidy at all times. They even washed the concrete dust off of the street! Boyd and his crew absolutely treated this project as if it was their own home and we already plan to hire them again when we replace our retaining wall and garage floor in the future. We could not be more satisfied. I absolutely recommend Center Construction for all of your concrete needs. They may not give you the cheapest bid (which we got from the terrible people we ended up firing), but Center Construction's bid will be absolutely fair and reasonable and the work will be done RIGHT. One of the hardest working crews I have ever worked with-- I can't say enough about what a positive experience we had.

Boyd and his crew did a fabulous job. Very fair price. It took four days to remove old concrete driveway, remove tree roots, lay out and grade new bed with wire mesh, and finally pour a new driveway. New driveway included some custom pouring and a stained stripe (foot wide) down the middle. Boyd asked me to stay off the driveway for a month and it will last forever. I did the final sealant myself. Boyd returned to check my work and gave me the green light. This family team is fair, thorough, friendly and totally professional. You will be lucky to have them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I explained to Boyd that we needed our back patio extended and wanted it to match the existing exposed aggregate. I also needed him to collaborate with my deck contractor to pour footings. I had a couple of estimates, but chose to go with Boyd's company because I am a fan of small family businesses (my dad owned a small family business), even though it was a little more expensive. After the initial estimate and after he met with my other contractor, he randomly increased the price by $200, even though I decided to have him pour a little less that what we originally discussed. He spilled concrete all over my yard when hauling it to the back. When I asked him about it he said he would clean it all up; he did not. In the past when I have had concrete hauled, plywood was laid down to protect the grass. Unused concrete and removed soil was carelessly tossed all over my property (yard, herb garden, rose bushes, etc) and there was concrete spray all over the back and side of my house. When they removed the 3 shrubs, they tossed 2 of them on top of our blueberry bushes and strawberries. One worker, I think it may have been Boyd's father, smoked in our back yard and tossed used cigarette butts that I later had to clean up. When I called an gave him an opportunity to clean up the messes, he came back and cleaned some of it, but I still have concrete in my herb garden, much of my lawn has died (shaped in the path they used to haul the concrete), and my favorite rose bush is sick. Likely, related to the lime in the concrete. He damaged a sprinkler head (I paid our sprinkler guy to have repaired); I was very clear that I did not want it damaged prior to starting the work. When he was pouring the concrete, I asked why he did not add rebar. He said it wasn't needed. Later, I found out it was needed. In addition to the messes they left for me to clean up and increasing the cost just before starting the project, the concrete did not have enough pea gravel, the color did not match, does not have rebar (so I suspect I have cracks to repair in the future), and it is not level with the existing concrete. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience and I still have to clean up messes. I wish I had gone with another contractor.

Center construction did an outstanding work from the start. Boyd came out the same day I called for a bid, and was considerate of my time. Boyd has wonderful customer service, and he worked hard to make me happy. I had them pour concrete in my back yard, and they redid my walkways with a custom color & design. He still needs to apply the finish to my walkways on 07/29/13, but I have no doubt he will follow through. I can?t wait to see the finished product. Thank you Center Construction for making me happy!

Perfect. I could not have asked for a better experience my first time using Angie's List. Center Construction was professional, prompt, and responsive in everything that they did. History: I actually received a quote two months prior to signing the contract. During the period of time I solicited multiple bids from other Angie's List contractors but ultimately knew that Center Construction would be the one I went with. From my initial inquiry to my job to meeting with the owner they were very professional, prompt, knowledgeable, and responsive. When I finally was ready to move forward Center Construction moved very quickly in order to finish before a party we were throwing for my son. I signed the contract on a Monday evening, on Tuesday the work area was cleared and framed, on Wednesday the concrete was poured and the aggregate exposed. On Saturday we had our party and got to show off our new patio. The patio was exactly what we wanted and matched the connecting patio and walkway very well. I would not hesitate to use Center Construction in the future and have recommended them to a number of friends outside of Angie's List. Thank you Center Construction

Center Construction bid the job and scheduled it quickly. They were on time, professional, easy to work with and very knowledgeable. The went so smoothly, it was done before we could believe it. They cleaned up all remaining debris, hauled everything away and left things looking spotless, The entire process took two days. I would highly recommend Center Construction! I wish all contractors worked this way!

They were on time and completed the work in the estimated time frame. We received other estimates, but felt their estimate was the best. The clean up was really good and were impressed that we received a follow up call to check if we were still happy.

From bid to finish, Center Construction's rep (Boyd) and his crew gave and left an impression of competence, dependability, and integrity. He was patient with delays in the building permit process with the city, punctual with all appointments, responsive to questions and plan changes, and accomplished the job promptly with a minimum of time, expense, and complication. The results are excellent. I would recommend this company to anyone with a similiar project.

I submitted an inquiry through Angie's List and received a follow-up call within 2-hours. This was on a Saturday morning. We scheduled a walk through for that Monday afternoon. The walk through went great. We really only had a rough idea of what we wanted to do and didn't know how much it would cost and were open to ideas. He brought several ideas to the table and exuded confidence and professionalism the entire time. He was able to provide rough estimates working with me to understand what we really wanted nad how much we were willing to spend. However, we ultimately ended going with pavers instead of concrete.

I called and Boyd was onsite the same afternoon. He gave me such a good estimate that I had his crew start the next day. The slab removal was tricky because even though I knew the gas service line was positioned underneath it, nobody knew it was only six inches below the surface essentially at the underside of the slab. They removed the slab without incident and brought the matter to my attention. (PSE was called and they are scheduled to install a new service line at an approved depth.) A fence had been installed on top of the slab (long story) so they had to remove the fence and re-install it. They did a great job pouring the footings for the post saddles at grade and even trimmed up the rough edges of the fence making it look better than ever. Great attention to detail. The crew had me approve the forms for the walkways and I requested a couple of changes. They made the changes without complaint. Boyd recommended that I have the exposed aggregate sealed for best appearance. I am glad he did. I highly recommend Center Construction. They provided me with an honest value and quality work. There were no surprises from my end and the job turned out even better than I had hoped.

I contacted several contractors by email. The owner of Center Construction called me the same day and came out the next moring to look at the job site and give me an esitimate. The estimate was within what I had budgeted and I felt comfortable with the plan so I went ahead with having them complete the job. They came out with a three man crew a couple days later. They setup the forms, compacted and leveled the base material I already had, tied in the rebar, and had the concrete delivered, poured and leveled in one day. Poii returned the next day to remove the forms and cleanup the job area. I am a stickler for level and accurate measurements and I have to say it is spot on 12x16 and level.

Project was excellently managed. After I called for an estimate, the owner came out the same day and provided a bid immediately. Once I accepted the proposal, work was scheduled within a couple of weeks. Work was performed as scheduled and the result was excellent. The project was started on a Tuesday, with the removal of the asphalt, and the stamped border was prepared and poured the same day. The remainder of the concrete was poured two days later, and the entire concrete driveway was sealed Saturday. So the project took less than a full week to complete. Also, when the green color I had chosen for the stamped border was a little more than I had wanted, the workmen went back and did as much as they could to tone it down. Once it was sealed, the resulting appearance was perfect. My only problem on the whole job was that I had not researched concrete finishing enough, so I initially disregarded the question of sealing the concrete. I wish the contractor had pushed this more in the beginning, since I did end up deciding to have it done. However, he made a special effort to come back on Saturday and do the sealing, so everything worked out in the end, and I very much appreciated his extra effort to still get the entire job finished within the week.

We are very happy with the work Center Construction did for us. Boyd came out and gave us an estimate the same day we called. He understood what we wanted, and had good recommendations to accomplish it. A team of 3 completed the prep work the first day, and a team of 6 completed the pour and cleanup on the second day. Boyd was there working and directing the project each day.We thought the project was completed the second day of work, but Boyd came out the day after to check on the work, do additional cleanup, and even pressure-washed our driveway! We just wish we had sufficient funds this year to have Center Construction replace our driveway, but that will have to wait until next year. We highly recommend Center Construction.

I received a call from the company's owner the same day that I contacted them through Angie's List. The owner was extremely responsive and came out the very next morning to assess the job. He was on time and brought a book of his previous jobs for me to review. He understood the water drainage issue and made suggestions how to remedy the problem. We settled on a price and he brought his crew out that same day to start on the job. They demolished and removed the old concrete slab the first day. The next day they framed the area and had the new slab poured that same afternoon. The owner was on site the entire time overseeing the work and pitching in himself. During the course of their work he informed me that they were not only raising the level of the concrete slab, but sloping it away from the garage as well to ensure that water would drain away from the garage. He also suggested that the finish be brushed since the slab would be exposed to the weather in order to make it less slippery and safer to walk on. My job was completed within two days from the time I contacted Center Construction on Angie's List! We are very happy with the responsiveness of the company, the extra efforts made to remedy our drainage problem and the overall outcome of the job. I would definitely hire this company again!

I called and the owner came out that day to give an estimate. They came out a couple days later, and had the job done in 3 days total. They did a great job, and cleaned up afterward. I have used a number of contractors over the years, and this was one of the best. I would use them again in a minute, and recommend them to friends.

Showed up on time for consultation; was back the next day to level ground and place forms. Returned two days later to pour; returned that night to work on stone finish. Came back two days later to seal and clean up site. Started on Saturday and by the next Saturday we had access to a new patio. Punctual, polite,owner stayed on site throughout the job. In talking with others, found that we had a great price for the amount of work done and done well. Will recommend to friends.

I had been waiting for several years to have a concrete driveway. So glad I found this company. Thee did an outstanding job.

We called Slabjack for an evaluation, and they referred us to two different concrete contractors. Both said it would be very expensive to match the aggregate because it was no longer available, and would have to be screened to supply the small rock. I joined AngiesList just to find a good local contractor for this project. Center construction came out the next day and offered a bid $1K less than the larger concrete contractors. The owner brought a large photo album of his work, which was very helpful. He offered a well written estimate which we accepted, then showed up early the morning of the day the job was planned. The owner was very responsive to questions, and was easy to reach by phone. The crew, some of whom appeared to be family members, were fun and friendly. They did a fantastic job, not only on the concrete, but they washed and cleaned all the surrounding landscaping. The aggregate matches perfectly. They poured the job in sections, so it won't crack in the future. In looks much better than the original. We are very, very please, and would recommend Central Construction to anyone considering concrete work.

Owner works with the crew. On time an outstanding job done. Finished in three days. Great to have the owner on the job.

We were delayed because of wet weather, but Poy always called to check in with me about the weather prospects. Once we had good weather, the crew tore all the asphalt up in one day. The next day they got the forms in place for the walls and poured them. The following day they poured the slabs for the driveway and sidewalk. The next dry day they dug the ditch for the drain, connected up the pipe and covered it up, all in the same day. On the last day Poy power washed the concrete and completed the work on the steps. Overall it went well, especially since we had bad weather to deal with. I had no complaints whatsoever.
