Center C Construction

This company did an excellent job. We hired Center Construction to widen the driveway, demo our old patio, and pour a new 16 x 40 patio, including new steps out the back door. First of all, out of all the places we called, Center Construction is the only place that bothered to call back. Boyd, the owner, made us feel like he valued our business right from the start. After he gave us the first bid, I decided I wanted the entire back patio replaced, including the steps out the back door. Boyd did not bat an eye, just came up with a new bid by the end of the day. He also gave us his opinion on what would look best, based on his years of experience. He was very gracious with his advice, and very easy to talk to. We welcomed his opinion, and took his advice. Communication was outstanding all the way through. Work was scheduled to begin on Monday, but the weather report called for rain. Boyd called Monday morning to let us know he did not expect to begin work that day, but would watch the weather report for changes. He called again later that day to let us know that he hoped to begin Tuesday. He called on Tuesday morning to say that rain was again expected, so he would not be out that day. At that point, I was a little concerned. I didn't need to worry. Wednesday morning, Boyd and his team came out and began the demo work. By 3:00, most of the demo was done. Thursday, they finished the demo and hauled everything away. Friday, they poured, and were finishing up both the driveway and the patio by 3:00. Yes, that fast. We are thrilled with the work done by this company and would hire them again. And you can bet we used that patio every day this summer!

From the first meeting to the end of the job the owner, Boyd, was punctual. He was polite and friendly and did exactly what he said he would do when he said he would do it. His primary concern seemed to be that we were happy with the job. He provided suggestions to help us make good decisions, and we are very happy with the result. He even came over on a weekend to raise the form because we changed our mind on slope, and he did not charge extra. We have hired many contractors over the years, and based on our experience, we would highly recommend Center Construction.

After a month of no responses, no shows, or overpriced quotes we found Boyd and Center Construction. Boyd was easy to work with, showed up on time and was able to work our small project into his schedule. After I had obtained the needed permits Boyd and his team completed their work the following week! We are very happy with the end result too. You won't find another concrete contractor that is this reliable, has reasonable prices and is willing to work on small projects in a short time frame. I would recommend Boyd to anyone who is looking for concrete work to be done.

It's hard to find a reliable concrete contractor these days, especially for a small job with so much construction going on now. Center Construction (Boyd) was able to fit me into a gap in his busy schedule for a relatively small one day job. Boyd and his crew poured and finished a concrete pad for a Cabana bath house in one long day. The results are, as usual, excellent (I've used Center Construction before). Extremely pleased with the results. I would recommend Center Construction to anyone with a similar job.

Boyd was very courteous and explained various options and helped us make our final decision. The crew showed up on schedule and even thought the weather didn't cooperate, they pushed through and got it done. The driveway and walkway look great, I told Boyd it was a shame to park a car on it. We took other estimates and Center had the best price by far - good price, great results, can't beat it.

Boyd showed up for the estimate as scheduled. He was very knowledgeable on what needed to be done to accomplish what we wanted. After several other estimates, we chose Center Construction. It was not the lowest bid, but very competitive, and the company has very good reviews. Plus Boyd showed up on time unlike some of the others. He and his crew worked most of one day to prep the areas and place the forms. Two days later they returned to do the concrete work. They were impressive in how they did the work. Everybody knew what they needed to do. The end result is excellent. It was in the 90' and high 80's on the days that this was done. But that didn't seem to slow them down much. The concrete had to be pumped to the areas. I don't know the name of the pumping company but they did a good job. We have two other areas that we would have liked to have done, but didn't want to spend the money at this time. When we are ready to do this, Center Construction will be the first ones we call. We highly recommend them to anyone that needs concrete work done. t

I called and left a message for this contractor in June. I received a call back days later on 6/30/15. He took down my address and said he would come out and bid my job. He never contacted me again and never came out to the house.

Boyd and his crew tore out the existing driveway and walkway. put in forms, expanded the existing foot print of the driveway and modified the walkway. Overall the look of the new concrete is very impressive, the texture and color of the walkway concrete stands out from the rest of the neighborhood. He ( Boyd ) was very accommodating with my specific requests for how I wanted the look of the walkway and how I also wanted the driveway to look as well. I asked if the existing lawn could be utilized to fill in where the old walkway was, being that I had grass in the way of my new path to the front door, and it would be simply scraped up and thrown away,......not only did his crew remove and relocate the grass to the old walkway path, they went so far as to water it !! I cant speak highly enough of Boyd`s crew, Boyd himself even came out and applied a sealant to my colored walkway himself to reduce the fading of it over time. I expected a lot of he and his team and they definitely delivered!!!

In additionThe job went wonderfully. He surprised me with great quality, tying in the sidewalk and slab with the existing driveway. I had a difficulty angled sewer access port right in the walkway which he solved by getting a box shaped housing and grate. He dug it out, cut down and recapped it so the grate would fit over the top with a flush mount to the new sidewalk. He also perfectly lined up the grate with the sidewalk so no tripping hazard anymore. In addition, with the direct drains, we were able to get rid of the drain pans that also created a tripping hazard as they crossed the sidewalk on two corners of the house. I am extremely pleased with his work and ingenuity. Highly recommend for any cement work needed. We chose lightly brushed finish and got exactly that.

This was a great experience and we will definitely hire again for future projects. Excellent communication and knowledge in planning the project as well as execution and completion. Due to our previous drainage problems, they took great care in sloping away from house and installing drainage supplies (that we purchased ahead of time) during the project. The areas look great and neighbors keep giving us compliments on the outcome. They left the areas clean and tidy and we look forward to hiring them again--we are completely satisfied.

They did a beautiful job. The man that owned the company worked directly with the crew and he was a very nice man. They were very polite, helpful and did the work in a timely fashion. I would hire them again. They didn't leave until the work was totally finished.

The crew was courteous and thorough in their work, both the tear out and the replacement. They listened to our description of what we wanted and delivered exactly what we described. I really appreciated the fact that they showed up when they said they would and completed the work promptly. I would absolutely use them again.

The owner (Boyd) was great to work with. My biggest regret is letting the owner (Boyd) talk me into keeping the drop in the driveway to the street (versus leveling the driveway out to the street on both sides so that a car could use it to drive into the driveway). At the time, I had no idea how difficult it would be to get a car out of the driveway with only one functioning side that forces you to back out and up a very steep hillside. The owner leveled only half of the concrete driveway to the street thinking that I could just use this half of the driveway to drive my car into and out of the driveway. The issue is that while I'm able to drive into the driveway (get my car into the driveway by hugging the edge), I have a lot of issues trying to back out of the driveway as I'm forced to back out on a very steep hill (going up) and I'm continually bottoming out and/or hitting the front of my car on the cement. Or my tires start skipping/skidding trying to get up the very steep slippery hill in the rain. I've had several others try to use the driveway and they too experience this issue in trying to get back out of the driveway as there is a very large drop off to the street on half of it. and you will literally ruin your car if you go off of this (high center your car). Therefore, I am not able to use the driveway to really park our cars and at some point I will need to pay someone to come out and tear out the concrete next to the road and properly build a sloped driveway out to the street (with a small concrete retaining wall to hold the landscaping back) so that we can actually use the driveway to park. So in a nutshell, if I could go back in time, I would have required they put in a proper sloped driveway to the street so that I could use it to get into and out of the driveway (lesson learned for a newbie).

Boyd and his crew were great! Their work was great quality and much faster than expected. I would highly recommend Center Construction to friends and family.

I would hire Boyd and his crew in a second if I had more concrete work to do. He also added fiberglass to the concrete mix to make it stronger along with wire mesh. The whole project was complete faster than I expected and turned out better than I expected. 5 stars to Boyd and his crew! I will try to post pictures, before and after,

Boyd and his crew did a great job. Boyd was very thoughtful in dealing with my slope issue and solved the problem cleanly. The men were respectful, pleasant and thorough during the job. Boyd's theory of providing a quality product shines through as does his wonderful sense of humor. I would definitely hire them again!

Boyd responded soon after I contacted him via Angie's List. At that time, we wanted a quote on a Pad in the backyard, cement from the street to the pad and a new driveway. Over a few weeks, we asked Boyd to come back and give us different quotes. He also had some ideas for our cement path/pad, but we soon discovered that it was not to be. We then concentrated on the driveway only. Even though the job was 1/2 the cost of what could have been, Boyd didn't blink. He made suggestions which we loved. The job started on time (down to the minute almost) and took 4 days (including outstanding clean-up). Boyd even came out on day 5 to make sure our driveway and our entire street was clear of any fragments of cement. Neighbors came by and were impressed with Boyd's conscientiousness to detail (everything had to be perfect), his consideration of my neighbors (didn't start digging up cement on day 1 until after 9am), and his impeccable clean-up. Boyd takes his reputation seriously. He certainly gets an A+ from us!

We were very, very happy with Boyd and his crew at Center Construction. After having to fire and back out of the previous company we'd hired due to very shady practices, we quickly created an Angies List account as we didn't want to take any chances. We reached out to the top 4 ranked companies (in our eyes per reviews on angies list) and ultimately ended up hiring Center Construction. My experience with them is consistent and spot on with other reviews they received. After leaving him a message requesting a quote, I not only heard from Boyd after 5pm that same night, but he also stopped by later that evening to size up the job and provide me the quote. He was professional, his bid was fair (and much less than a previous bid I'd received) and he was very up front that they might be 2-3 weeks out from doing the job. I was more than happy to hear they were only 2-3 weeks out considering others had told me 6-8 weeks out. Not only that, but they were actually able to start and complete the job about a week and a half later, roughly half the time we were expecting. Everything went to plan as Boyd had laid out for us and we felt confident and trusting throughout the process. He communicated often and accurately and it couldn't have gone smoother. There was cleanup work afterwards and they took care of that as well. We are so happy with the job they did as well as how customer service oriented they were. I will easily call them again for future jobs and I would highly recommend folks hire Center Construction.

Boyd and his crew were great to deal with. Boyd?s was the second bid I got. It was almost $4,000 less than the first bid. I accepted it on the spot. He started the project two weeks later. It took three days from demolition to pouring the new driveway. The forms were removed two days later. Boyd was present throughout the job, and he and his crew were very hard workers. He rented a larger excavator with a hydraulic thumb for removing the old concrete driveway. The excavator was also invaluable when it came to digging out the roots from a very large bigleaf maple tree that had been taken down four years before. The extent of the root system may have been a bit of a surprise, but they took it in stride and were able to dig it out with the excavator in about 40 minutes. Boyd has two crews working for him. That was very helpful on the day they poured. After the first crew had poured about half of the area, the second crew came in to follow behind them and do a lot of the finish work. Even so, it was a 13-hour day on the job for Boyd and some of his crew. The finished driveway is beautiful. Several people walking or driving by have commented how beautiful it is. Boyd and his crew take pride in their work. We are very happy we chose him to do our driveway.

He was nice but the price seemed very high for a basic slab. It's about 7 a square ft which is way higher than others. That price was before the drain or anything else. Maybe it's an Angie's list thing but that kind of price just feels exploitative,

These guys were great! They take great pride in their work, were extremely punctual for the estimate, and were able to complete our job a week after we told them we wanted to hire them for the job. They tore up the lawn where the patio would go, hauled all of the debris away and did a great job pouring and finishing the patio. They even powerwashed our driveway after they finished cleaning everything up. We would highly recommend these guys for our concrete projects. They are efficient, punctual, reasonably priced, very responsive to phone calls, and extremely easy to work with. A+

These guys are great. They had an immediate opening due to a postponed job, and fit me in. Great attitude, and you can tell they take great pride in what they do. I almost hate to even walk on it, better yet park, it is just so pretty. Talking with Boyd, it is very clear that he pours his heart into his work, right along with the concrete. And the amount of work they get done in a short time...amazing. If you want concrete work done right, call them. You will be glad you did.
