Allied put an interior drainage system in my basement several years ago. Paul is a fast-talking, conniving man who will take no responsibility ever, for any work that was done poorly even with a warranty. He will deny, deny, deny endlessley and come up with the most ridiculous things and will try turn everything around on you no matter what it is. I had him out within the first year after the project because the concrete was cracking. Insects were coming in through my basement floor which used to be in great condition before they cut it and did poor concrete work. At that time he said it was fine and left. I should have known that now, several years later, when I had him out again because the concrete is even worse and has raised up about 1/8 of an inch, that he would have the same useless response. I'm about to install tile and the tile installer has told me that it's going to crack the tile especially because it's continuing to move. Paul will say anything to avoid responsibility. It must be a tree root, he said, even though there are no trees anywhere around. Then he'll say that it's not cracking even though I and others can see it with our eyes. Then he'll say that he can fix it for a fee even though I have a 10 year warranty. Then he'll say concrete cracks, even though the rest of the concrete in the basement is 100 years old and is not cracked, nor are the other areas that they did. Just the one area that he's denying is even cracked. Then he'll say well, it must be your floor that's moving, nothing is wrong with the concrete we did. No, my original floor is still in the same place and looks great, to which he says, how do I know? Don't waste your time. Go with a different company. If things go wrong, you can't rely on this company to do the right thing and your warranty is useless.. I had to tell Paul to get out of my house because he was yelling at me and talking down to me like I must be stupid as if I must be seeing a crack that doesn't really exist. Other contractors who have looked at it said it should not be cracking. And the contractor who was here asked Paul if they used rebar, to which Paul replied no, nobody ever does. Another lie. Then he couldn't believe that I told him to get out of my house. If you're going to be an ahole, expect to receive it in return. As he was going out the door, he turned and demanded to know what I do for a living. I had to tell him to get out of my house again. It doesn't matter what I do Paul, but I can tell you that I take responsibility for the services I provide and I do not lie to my clients faces. What a rude little man and completely incapable of doing the right thing. I already knew that before I had him out the second time. Don't let him fool you when he comes out to give you the initial bid. He's real helpful when he's going to get money out of you but he is slimy and conniving and cannot be trusted when things go wrong. The pictures are from today. The epoxy was just put on the other day by the tile guys but they think that it's hollow underneath. When they tap on it it feels hollow and moves a bit like there's no gravel under it and the epoxy just went in endlessly for the same reason so the gap can't be filled because there's nothing inside of there. But of course Paul said that's not true either. They also sloped a corner upward which is going to affect doing flooring and then Paul denied that too and said that it's not really like that I'm just making it up. Then he told me it must have already been like that. I told him it wasn't. He said well how do you know that, and that he doesnt don't know that so therefore it must not have been. Because it's my house Paul and I saw the floor before you got to it and ruined the Integrity of it. There was a contractor there with me witnessing all of this rediculousness and he could not believe this man lying to our faces and taking no responsibility.

Allied Waterproofing just finished a complete overhaul of my storm drain system, and I am very pleased with the results. Having worked with a great many contractors over the years, I can attest they are at the top of my list for professionalism, work ethic, excellent field and office staff, and making sure all commitments were met with regard to design and follow through. I could not be happier because my system was designed to meet the higher amounts of stormwater occurring in this area.
Description of Work: The category of 'Excavating' does not adequately describe the work Allied W. did. They dug trenches for installation of 4" water pipe to carry rainwater from long sloping driveway and multi-level roof, installed a new channel drain the width of a double garage, connected the channel drain with a 10" catch basin on the side of the driveway that connected the 4" PVC pipe and four downspouts to the main. Two other downspouts on the backside of the house was connected to the main via a separate trenched pipe due to their location. The job required them to remove a section of the driveway to install larger channel drain, removal of a section of the concrete on the side of the house to connect the 4" pipe from channel drain to main on backside of property. They did a beautiful job replacing the concrete sections. Also added were connections fitted to each downspout that allowed for protecting the downspouts from dirt, gravel, or any other objects getting into the the system, and filters that easily are removed and cleaned thus creating a closed system that would ensure the underground pipes were protected from most sources other than what came through the channel drain which could be kept clean from the front catch basin located next to the driveway since that is where silt and pine needles, etc. can fall into the system. Everywhere else is seal off from any material at ground level, and the downspout filters which are easily cleaned, captures anything coming from the gutters. I was greatly impressed with the workmanship displayed throughout the project. The cost reflects the many work activities that brought this project to fruition.

Paul and everyone else at Allied were a pleasure to work with. They showed up when they said they would, gave me a very fair, reasonable bid for the work and managed to work this small job into their busy schedule within a week. I had questions while the work was underway and Paul was quick to respond to every question via email. I will use them again for any drain issues I have.

I recently sold a home in Seattle. Like many homes in the Green Lake neighborhood, it was built in the 20’s. We found out the hard way that there are a lot of issues with the old sewer lines. When our buyers scoped the sewer line some significant damage was discovered so we had no choice but to repair it to make the sale go through. I did my due diligence. I received four bids from all the most notable sewer repair companies in the area. Not only was Paul’s quote literally THOUSANDS lower than the other three, it was by far the most professional experience I had. The others ranged from handing me a business card with an “estimated cost” scribbled on the back to verbal quotes. I felt like I was being taken for a ride with the others and I now understand why plumbing a sewer repair companies can have bad reputations. I felt like I invited three used car salesmen into my home to fix my sewer! It was pretty clear to me that once the other companies started the work they were going to begin tacking on additional repair costs because they made no commitment to the final total. Paul was upfront from the beginning about what the damage was and exactly how he’d repair it, which was really refreshing. He replaced our entire sewer line that ran under a sidewalk and a retaining wall with landscaping as well as our driveway. If you saw it now you’d never know anything ever happened. His crew was professional, courteous, and punctual. I’d recommend them to anyone in need of a repair.

Excellent work- I called a couple of folks but got these guys from my neighborhood blog in west seattle with a recommendation. They did a good job, explained it, drew a picture and then came out and tore up concrete, replaced drain and patched it up. It looks good and everything works well.
Description of Work: Old West Seatle home with exterior drain in stairwell to basement. The drain was backup and couldn't clear it after trying to snake it myself, called plumber, he tried to snake it (big waste of money) so I called for two bids to come out and crack out the concrete, replace the drain and put the concrete back in.

I worked with Paul, and I have to say (even though no one WANTS to deal with sewer issues), this was perhaps the best experience with a service provider for repairs that I've ever had. The house is over a hundred years old and you never know what you're going to find when you start digging. Paul's crew came out many times over the course of a couple of weeks, sometimes spending hours doing exploratory digging to make sure we knew what the real problem was. It turned out that this was really important because no one ever could have guessed how things had been mis-routed. In the end, the price was really reasonable and I found it really easy to work with Paul as the job morphed requiring some re-estimations. His crew went above and beyond on several occasions to make sure that they got everything taken care of. If you're from the school of thought that a bid is a bid, I'm sure Paul can accommodate that, but for me with old houses, I always am super sensitive to bearing the burden of things that can't possibly be known so that service providers don't feel like they need to cover every contingency in their bid. Working this way requires a pretty trustworthy relationship, and I found Allied/Paul to really be great in this way.
Description of Work: Diagnosed a sewage problem related to a sketchy drainage situation installed by the previous owner. Ended up upgrading and repairing a significant part of the exterior sewer lines.

Paul Koronovsky was prompt with his estimates, and the crew was very clean and professional. They started the job when estimated, and they finished to the day that Paul had planned. There was no break in work to handle anything at an different job site. The crew left all landscaping in as close to the original condition as is possible. I am very pleased with their work, and I would use this company again, without hesitation.

Paul responded to our inquiry and showed up right on time to review our basement flooding situation. We had some water in the basement during a couple of recent downpours. Paul was very easy to work with and practical in quick suggestions, giving us some no-cost and low-cost options. He mentioned that they are able to locate drain lines, so I decided that having them scope our lines and locate them for this 52-yr old house would be a good idea. We needed to know the location of our septic field lines so that we would know where NOT to dig for a future project. When Roland and Sergei arrived, I had the D-box exposed and they were able to locate the three field lines as well as tell me their depth in less than 30-40 minutes . The second project was to locate the exit of the footing drains. House was built in 1963, so a lot has happened to obscure things since then Roland and Sergei went right to work and located the troublesome drain outlet with their echo finder followed by some digging. A broken and plugged tile was the culprit. Good. Now the other footing drain. The builder had told me that the footing drains ran parallel to the sides of the house and that was true of the first one. The second drain -their scope stopped at about 3 feet from the downspout entrance, under a concrete slab sidewalk. I wanted to know the problem and was willing to bust it up with a sledge but Sergei suggested prying up the (relatively) small slab and was inventive at getting that done. Opening things up a bit, it turned out that the drain was completely plugged and headed off in a 45 degree angle, going under the concrete slab of the separate structure garage. Evidently the drain water was just being dumped out through the seam in the sidewalk and pouring across our driveway without our realizing what was happening. Hmm, so for the time being things were closed back up and a little thinking is to be done about how best to handle it. Roland and Sergei did a great job of efficiently applying themselves to the job from beginning to end and were a real pleasure to deal with. They got everything cleaned up in a jiffy and after a quick phone call from the office from Brooke to arrange payment, they were on their way. The good reviews that I had read on Angie's certainly proved true for these folks and I would highly recommend them if you need help with drain or water problems. They know their stuff and are great to work with.

We felt that this company came very highly rated on Angie's List, so we were expecting the great service that we received. Paul came out and gave us a bid on Tuesday and we had the hand written invoice proposal by that afternoon. We decided to go with the company. They started work the next day (Wednesday) and were finished on Thursday. The communication with their office was excellent. Response time was quick. We felt that the price they gave us was very fair for what work they did. We were extremely pleased with the transaction with this company from start to finish.
Description of Work: This company came out and diagnosed where our water pipe was leaking. We made the decision to replace the entire water line. There was a 2 day turn around time from when bid was made and work was completed. We were very impressed with the communication, service, and delivery. We would definitely chose this company again.

Very well. A crew of 4 were here two full days and laid down plastic in the hallway to the closet where the entrance to the crawlspace is. They were punctial, friendly, and cleaned up each day. Once the pump was intalled they wanted to make sure the crawlspace was dry before they laid down the plastic vapor barrier. A crew returned 2 weeks later, made sure the crawlspace was completely dry and installed the barrier.
Description of Work: I had a flooded crawlspace and Allied dug a trench around the interior of the crawlspace, laid pipe on a grade, covered with drain rock, and installed a basin and sump pump to catch the water and expell it away from the foundation through an outlet pipe.

They used electronic equipment to locate the bad pipe and mark the area. When they came back to dig up and replace the drain line were were very impressed with how carefully they treated our lawn and yard. They put down tarps, carefully removed the sod and then dug the trench. They even had to go under our concrete patio and did so without any damage to the concrete. They installed a clean out for the drain line, drain guards on the downspouts, at our request and repaired another area of the drain line at the far edge of the property. Roland and Ivan were very friendly, answered our questions and were very professional and hard working. When it was time to fill in the trench, they put all the dirt back, raked up all debris and relaid the sod. After they were gone, we could hardly see where they did the work. We were more than pleased with their work and very pleasant attitudes. They enjoyed d*** the work and were very good at it. We very much enjoyed working with the owner, Paul, too. He had excellent communication with his office staff and workers. A very well run operation. They let us know what was going on at all times. We would definitely call Paul if we have any further drainage needs.
Description of Work: Our downspout drain pipes overflowed every time it rained. Roland and Ivan showed up promptly for appointment and correctly diagnosed where the problem was. The drain line was crushed in the yard so water couldn't flow correctly away from the house. They replaced parts of the drain line, cleaned the drain line, installed drain guards and a clean out in the yard.

Paul went out of his way to respond to frustrations we had with our misunderstanding regarding work that his company was not able to perform on a different problem. He helped us think through what a solution might be for the problem and was willing to try to fix it even though he was clear it might not be possible with the kind of work he did. In the end it turned out it wasn't needed, but I appreciated his responsiveness. We left a prior review that reflected our frustration and now want to commend him and his company for sticking with us and seeing it through. As a result of this we used the company to install a french drain in another area of our yard. He is diligent and committed to doing right by his customers. They do know what they are doing when it comes to drainage! I would definitely recommend Allied.

They arrived on time and got straight to work. Put down matting and plastic to protect the carpet (the only access door to our crawl space is inside the house) and even covered the garage floor to keep dirt off the concrete. They did really great work and even apologized for the noise, when they had to break through some rock while digging. Everything went very smoothly and the work was finished within the original time estimate. They tested the sump pump once it was in place and it worked great. It's been six months and it's still working just fine, we no longer have the worry of the family room and office flooding. I would hire them again and recommend them to friends and family for any drainage/waterproofing work.
Description of Work: Scoped existing french drains in the yard to make sure they weren't the problem, which they weren't. Put in a crawl space drainage system, complete with french drains on each side, a trench on the lower side and a sump pump. Ran a pipe out of the crawl space and connected one of our existing rain gutters to the new pipe. Also put down new sheeting over the entire crawl space area when finished.

I called Allied to schedule an appointment for an estimate for drainage work. Vicky (the receptionist) set up their next available time, which was 11:00 on 04/'05/14, two and a half weeks out. At 10:15 on the scheduled day (45 minutes prior to the appointment time) I received a phone call from Paul (owner) that he was cancelling the appointment due to my home being too far away. He comes from Everett and I live in Carnation. Odd thing-I work in Everett and travel their five days a week-38 miles one way. I do this because it's my source of income. Apparently Vicky is a new receptionist and was not aware of the maximum distance Paul would travel to take a look, give a bid, and possibly obtain a contract for the work. Paul was apologetic, however saying "I'm sorry" does not mean much when we had a verbal contract for an estimate of costs for work, and he ends up blaming the new receptionist who should not be at fault because she obviously was not properly trained to give out certain information. Allied must not need the work or the money to limit the area in which they will serve. Drainage work is Allied's source of income however they refuse to travel 38 miles to give an estimate.
