This is a great company to work with. Paul is VERY knowledgeable, very thorough and professional. He was prompt, courteous, and a joy to work with. I've had him here twice (rerouted the line from the sump a few months later), and would not hesitate to call him if I ever had a drainage problem again. I received bids from 2 other companies and all were very similar. Upon meeting Paul and his crew, it was an easy decision to make. They're VERY honest, hard-working, and prompt. Even though they had other jobs going simultaneously, Paul went out of his way to fit my project in. Everything was completed in a timely manner and they cleaned-up afterwards in a way that you'd never know any work was done...spectacular. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with Allied Waterproofing and Drainage.
Description of Work: Replaced a crawlspace sump pump, rerouted a line from the pump to a line that connects to the city strorm-drain, and installed a new drain line from gutter/downspout runoff.

I am very grateful to have found them on Angies list and have used i to find other workers and have been very satisfied with the reviews, which have proven accurate.
Description of Work: I have ten acres in a rural area and have been plagued with water standing around two sides of my free-standing garage for a few years. I looked on Angies list for someone to correct the problem and called Paul to come out and give me ideas of how to correct the problem and give an estimate of what it would cost. Paul is prompt and open to suggestions and answered all my questions accurately. If he says he or the crew will be here at a specific time, they are, or Paul calls to let me know when they would be here. They dug a new drainage ditch around two sides of the garage and installed both perforated pipe to drain off groundwater and solid pipe to be hooked up to downspouts. Partway through I added a job which included building a small retaining wall with my own concrete blocks, and using up my own stored gravel. It was no problem for them to accommodate me. They even had to move debris to get to the materials. The crew did a great job and used the materials I asked them to use. I have more work to be done and will have Paul and his men do it. They are completely trustworthy and conscientious. I had to leave for several hours on two mornings and left my garage unlocked so they could get to materials stored there and they always locked it when they left for the day.
Paul (from Allied Waterproofing) is VERY responsive, kind and flexible. His crew worked tirelessly on the project, even though the "soil" surrounding our house is glacial till and solid as a rock. Paul worked within our budget and was open to any work we wanted to do. His bid was a bit lower than others, but it was his personality and professionalism that convinced us to go with him. I had interviewed about four other companies, some local some national, and most of them were either gruff or just seemed like our business meant nothing to them. Allied, on the other hand, cared about the quality job they were doing and whether we were pleased with their work or not. I met with Paul about two months before any work started. I told him what we need as well as what we wanted. What we needed was a full sewer line replacement, what I wanted in addition was waterproofing the wall outside the basement window, a line to the garage, concrete removal, and a giant hole outside the back of the house for a future basement window. About two months later, work started -- the crew showed up and started removing concrete to gain access to the sewer line. Then they dug down to find the only lines coming out of the house and within a day or three, had already pipe bursted the line. We probably didn't have bathroom usage for an afternoon at most. They were that quick bursting out the old line and putting in the new one. Most of the time they spent -- about a week -- was digging, cutting, backhoeing, and doing the extra work I requested. If we had just done the sewer line itself, it probably would have been about a grand or two less than the other bids. The men on the crew were very nice and cleaned up the property nicely when they were finished, replacing anything that was damaged during the work (a walkway needed fixing as well as some sod).
Description of Work: Allied Waterproofing redid our sewer line, which came out both sides of the house and met in front before diving down a 20 foot rockery to the main. They also waterproofed outside the basement bathroom, added cleanouts, ran a line to the garage for a future utility sink, cut and removed concrete and excavated a giant hole for a future basement window.

Paul from Allied Waterproofing quickly responded when I called, came to evaluate the job and I got an offer within a couple of days. He was excellent explaining the work and what to do in order to fix the issues the previous owner had caused having a sump pump installed completely against code and ignoring basic quality standards. The crew showed up in time, did a great job covering floors and avoiding damages, and I think the price was good for the work and quality delivered. Very happy with the results and I would hire them again at any time.

We decided to hire Allied Waterproofing & Drainage to install a new drainage system for us because of their professionalism. Paul showed up on time (early actually) to do the estimate and took the time not only to talk to me about the project but also to record measurements so that his bid reflected the exact work to be done. The estimate was highly detailed, so we knew exactly what we were going to get. In addition, we had talked to the city about options for addressing our drainage issues prior to beginning the project, and Paul's recommendations were right in line with the information we'd gotten from city resources. We were unable to be home at the time the work was ultimately scheduled to start, but we were assured that this would not be a problem. We have gotten emergency calls from contractors after such assurances in the past, so we were pleasantly surprised that they really did not need access to the house or garage to complete the work. One reason we opted to hire a professional for the project was because the work involved digging around a lot of utilities; there were no unexpected complications due to hitting wires/cables/pipes. They were actually done earlier than expected, so we came home to a finished product. We have now experienced a couple of heavy rains that would have created puddles in the past, but our new system handled the water with no problems. Despite being at the higher end of the bids we received for our project, we feel that the quality of the work and the ease of doing business with Allied was well worth the cost.

Sump pump works beautifully. Paul's estimate was lower than the 4 other contractors I spoke with. No unforeseen difficulties or charges. Nice job on the concrete, and his team saved all the plants between the 4-plex and the parking lot. The job was two full days, with a small team. A pleasure to have them!
Description of Work: Installed a sump pipe in the crawlspace under a 4-plex. Ran drainpipe all the way to the storm drain across the parking lot (included cutting concrete, digging a trench, and patching the concrete).

Paul was timely on all counts (somewhat rushed at times) and very accessible via phone. The job was to take 4-5 days but was completed in 3. There was some miss communication regarding the electrical part of the job but Paul did not hesitate to say he would correct the issue, and working together it was corrected. Allied had to make a return visit to re-do the vapor barrier his crew had installed improperly, woefully short of contract specifications. Pieces of vapor barrier were cosmetically placed to give the appearance of complete coverage but was one or two inches of overlap as opposed to the minimum of 18 inches. The crawl space is a wet place because of the high water table which was the reason we wanted to have a good job done as we are placing new hardwood floors. This would not have been discovered had I not gotten on my hands and knees and physically checked out every corner of the crawl space of this $7500 job. What job boss would skimp on plastic sheeting other than one that was betting that no one, especially someone over 65, would check out his work. I now doubt that the vapor barrier placed by this crew was 'new', as per contract, and think they may have reused some from the previous job which was far more impressive with overlaps pinned. The sump pump works.
Description of Work: The contract specified sump pump system in crawl space of 1500 sq ft rambler and connection of 4 down spouts to tight pipe to street gutter. Reinstalled vapor barrier in crawl space.

We had been having problems with standing water in the crawl space under the house. Based on favorable reviews on Angie's list I contacted Allied. The entire experience with Paul (owner) and his crew was excellent. Paul came and identified the problem as resulting from excess groundwater, the surrounding topography, and poor natural soil drainage. He proposed an interior perimeter french drain with a sump pump, tied in with the exterior gutter drain. Going into this, I had no clue what the cost would be to fix this drainage problem, but his bid turned out to be near the low end of the range I had been guessing. The 3-man crew showed up at the appointed time, and completed the job in a day and a half which amazed me because of the cramped conditions in the crawlspace. They were extremely courteous and respectful, and highly professional, and left the space very clean and tidy. They were also very careful to not soil the interior of the house or garage they had to pass through to access the crawlspace. Part of the process was also to inspect the interior of the entire length of the of the outside drainpipe using a cable-mounted video camera. This identified two portions of pipe that were either partly crushed or had severe damage from tree roots. As stated in the contract, replacing these pipe sections was an extra charge, but was definitely worth a few hundred dollars to save me the heavy labor. And they restored the landscape so it looked like it had not been disturbed. The real measure of the success of the job will be a dry crawl space after the next rainy season, but I really have no concerns. Paul guarantees his work for 10 years. I would definitely recommend this contractor.
Description of Work: They installed a french drain in the crawl space, around the interior perimeter of the house foundation, with a sump pump. They also replaced portions of the exterior drain pipe.

FANTASTIC! As another reviewer said, this is the best experience I've ever had with a contractor. The service and quality of the work are absolutely wonderful. Within hours of Paul coming to my house to look at the water in the crawlspace, he sent a beautifully detailed bid, with precise drawings of what he would do to resolve my problem. The price was extremely reasonable for the work described. My brother-in-law, who's a brilliant engineer, was quite impressed with the bid. Paul's crew did the exterior work first, to accommodate my work schedule and the fact that I have two dogs; then they did the crawlspace work. It took a total of 4 days - 2 outside and 2 inside. The crew was very respectful, skilled and professional. They simply came and got to work - and the quality of the work is fantastic. When it turned out that the water flow was more than expected, Paul came back to look and they revised the pump outflow routing and extended the original exterior drain pipe without hesitation. These guys do a great job and then stand behind it! I wish they did other things - I would hire them for everything my house needs if they did. Awesome - I can't say enough good things about Paul and his crew. Hire these guys - you won't be sorry!
Description of Work: Installed a french drain system around the inside perimeter of my crawlspace; installed sump pump at one corner; installed exterior drain pipes and connected several downspouts into it; took drain pipe to street with overflow catch-basin; connected sump pump outflow to sewer line.

This was the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. I first contacted this company after being dissatisfied with a bid I received from a general plumbing company. I decided to find someone who specialized in drainage problems, and boy, did I hit the jackpot. From my first phone contact to the conclusion of the project, I was impressed with the high level of communication, collaboration, and competence. Paul, the owner of the company, could teach a class in customer service. He responded quickly to my initial phone call, arrived promptly for the initial visit, emailed me the next day with a detailed estimate (including drawings), and arranged for his very experienced crew to do the work in a timely manner. He was easily accessible, and I particularly appreciated being able to ask questions by email and get prompt responses. Paul told me that he is a perfectionist, and I could see evidence of that in the work. The two guys who worked on the project were very meticulous, and when the project was complete, everything functioned well and looked good. Not surprisingly, Paul didn't mention that he is very kind and highly ethical, but that was also very apparent in my dealings with him. It was worth the cost of my Angie's List membership just to have found this company. I would recommend Allied Waterproofing & Drainage to anyone.

Our new house had severe water problems in the crawl space, much worse than we expected. Based on Angie's list reviews I hired Allied waterproofing to address the issues. I didn't collect other bids because I wanted someone I could trust to fix this in the best way and not just the cheapest bidder. I felt comfortable from start to finish that our project was going to turn out well, and it did. At the start of the project our crawl space was deep mud with channels and streams of water flowing across it with a large plastic sheet floating on top of the whole mess. After three or four days of Allied waterproofing working down there is looks like a pefectly ordinary crawl space with gravel around the perimeter and a nice new vapor barrior over it. It looks pefect, we would trust them with any project.
Description of Work: We had them install a french drain around the inside of our foundation that directs water to a collection barrel in one corner. The barrel is gravity drained and doen't require a pump, which is a big deal considering how much water we have here. We were able to make use of an existing drain pipe once we got outside the crawl space and to the corner our the house. We chose to put the drain system around the inside of the foundation because we have a septic system, underground utilities, and porches all obstructing any work along the outside of the walls.

Be aware of contractors that immediately starts talking about digging up the dirt next to your foundation and somehow, "water proof" the foundation. It may be the right solution, but there may be much simpler solutions to your problem.
Description of Work: Owner came out, did a quick inspection of our basement. As opposed to other contractor we talked to, he immediately focused on the integrity of our gutters and if the piping they were connected to had any breaks. Came back a few days later and did a video camera inspection of the gutter drain pipes. Found a crack and a connection joint that was broken. Repaired it all and that took care of our basement flooding.

This was an excellent home repair experience. Paul was very responsive, came out within 48 hours of my call for an estimate. He provided a written estimate within 24 hours. The price was right in the middle of two others I obtained. When I called to schedule the repair I informed him that I had a big social event planned for mid Sept and wanted to have the work done by then so I could get rid of the corrugated drain pipes that had been attached from the downspouts into the yard as a temporary fix. He was able to work with this schedule. The work itself was done in half a day. They cleaned everything up and left the garden looking great. Today we had a huge rainstorm and I can testify that the work is excellent and my basement is bone dry. I would not hesitate to use this company again or to recommend them to a friend.
Description of Work: I had exterior drain pipes along the foundation that had cracked so that storm water run off was pouring into my basement garage. Paul dug out the pipes, replaced the cracked section, sealed all the ties and reattached the downspouts.

. I highly recommend this company, and have already done so to a neighbor!
Description of Work: Allied Waterproofing had installed a sump pump system in the craw space of my home and a french drainage system 12 years ago. Both sytems worked beautifully over the years. This past year I decided to deal with the water run off from the downspouts and asked Allied to do the work. Paul, the owner drew up a plan, and I trusted his expertise. The crew was very friendly and respectful, and did all the work as agreed upon. I did not have to be home as the work was being done, and each day the workmen left the work area in a very tidy manner. The job took a total of 4 days. The price included the removal and disposal of 2 large cypress trees (which I had requested) and the purchase of a new sump pump to replace the old one.

From the start, Paul K, was very responsive to my emails. He showed up when he said he would. His estimate was very fair for the work performed. In fact it was 1/3 of another offer I got. The installers showed up on time and worked very hard to get the job done in less than a day. The end result is better than I imagined it would be.

I was extremely impressed with the quality and integrity of this company. Paul's crew consistently worked hard from 9 am to 4 pm each day. They paid very careful attention to the care of my property, restoring it to better than it's original condition. From the very beginning of this project, I could tell I had made the right choice in companies. Paul (the owner) instilled a level of sincere confidence that his crew would work hard and they did. He explained the entire process beforehand, and answered my many questions with a lot of patience. I was concerned about how my landscaping would be left, and I needn't have been as it was left in perfect condition. This was a large job that took 3 weeks, and I was on site to see most of it completed. These folks really care about doing a good job! The crew was efficient and knowledgeable, courteous and sensitive to my property and its needs. I am on 5 acres, so the drain pipe to the dry well was quite a long ways down the middle of my driveway. I came home to happily find fresh gravel laid over the natural scars of their work, so you couldn't even tell they had been there! That was an amazing 'extra' that they did. I would not hesitate for an instant to call them for other work and I will! Thanks Paul; your company really cares about doing a great job!
Description of Work: After having my daylight basement and garage flood several times, I needed to replace the original French drainage system all around my home and out into the woods with an exterior gravity-fed foundation drainage system and dry well. Allied also replaced damaged concrete under my entire deck with washed rock and landscaping ties, and replaced the concrete on part of my front walkway. Allied also waterproofed the entire exterior perimeter of my home and daylight basement (aqua seal, drain membrane, filter fabric, aluminum flashing, silicone sealant), replaced catch basins, and added brand new downspout filters to make clean-out easier for me.

The owner Paul is very nice and professional. They had four men present to do the job. I was a little suprised to see them using hand shovels to make the trenches, but maybe that is the most efficient way. It took the men 7 hours to complete the job. They appeared very experienced and knowledgeable. I did think the price was a little steep for 28 man hours of work, but they did waive the initial inspection and clearing of one pipe ($450). And I don't know what the sewer pipe materials cost the company.
Description of Work: Allied installed underground drainage pipe all the way around the house and connected to existing sewer lines and gutter downspouts.
