This installation went exactly as expected, and actually for a little less money than the estimate. I had done all prep work, removal of baseboards, door jamb trim, toilet and laid down the underlayment plywood myself. Abbey Carpet was happy to quote the price of just the vinyl install and replacing the toilet. That was great as it allowed me to reduce total cost of this fairly small project. I couldn't even get their local competitor in Everett to give me a quote. for the job The Abbey guys came, set up the job and tools, and after patiently listening to a couple things I wanted to point out, and answer my questions...they went to work and 2 hours later it was completely done. All cleaned up, and their use of drop cloth kept carpet clean. It looks great, with the vinyl pattern (sheet has tile-like appearance with simulated grout lines) nicely aligned in the doorway. The pattern break ends at perfectly at the tub. The caulked edges look great with a nice bead. I'm very happy.

The new floors are beautiful. The material, Moduleo Vision Sicilian Slate Luxury Vinyl Tile, is a great product but should be installed by an expert to take advantage of its quality and beauty. In that respect, Abbey Carpet excels, as the installer, Tim, was remarkable. He is an artist, who insists on an installation that is as near to perfection as he can manage. On several occasions, he completely redid a section because he discovered that one of the tiles was 1/32 inch off true parallel with the other tiles in the section! Abbey is a local, family-owned business, with members of the family managing the several branch stores. In our case, Todd, the manager of the Everett store, was absolutely a treat with whom to work. First, he has an excellent eye for color and was of great help to us in finding the right product and pattern for our project. Second, the emphasis of the company of customer service was demonstrated in the most positive manner when we were forced to postpone the original installation because it turned out that the damage to our kitchen floor by a water leak was more extensive than we had anticipated, requiring a complete tear-out of our kitchen. Todd's flexibility in rescheduling the project (a delay of about 6 weeks) was without the slightest hint of inconvenience, even though Abbey had already ordered and received the product from the manufacturer. Our offer to pay in advance for the product because of the delay was politely declined, with the assurance that they would set the time for the installation whenever we were ready for it. In the future, whenever we or anyone we know is considering flooring of any sort, Abbey Carpet will be our only serious candidate. In fact, we were so pleased with their selection, pricing, and service that we also had our master bedroom carpet replaced last month, the carpet coming, of course, from Abbey Carpet.

DESIGNER (DIANE) WAS EXCEPTIONAL--WAS ABLE TO KEEP WITHIN BUDGET AND FIND COLORS/TEXTURES THAT WOULD COMPLETELY CHANGE THE LOOK/FEEL/SMELL OF THE HOUSE.
