Smith Drilling

I hired Smith Drilling to install a water well for my new house. Thier head well guy showed up promtly and was nice and curtious. After meeting him I decided to have Smith drilling install the well. Two days later they showed up with thier well rig and started to drill. I gave them specific instructions to stop at 225 feet. When I showed up at the property at the end of the next day they told me they went down 500 feet (at $37 per foot)! I asked why and they said that they hit water at 384 feet but wanted to give me some storage. They also said that they had never drilled that far before. I immediatly called thier office to discuss the problem and was told not to worry about it and the owner would take care of it. When I got the bill they took $500 off the price. After months of negotiating a "fair" price they installed the pump and pipe in the well. When It was installed they charged me for 1.25 inch pipe and installed 1 inch, did not install check valves as per thier work order and the pump manufaturers installation instructions. Needless to say after 4 months of use I had to have the pump and pipe replaced with what should have been in the well. I also had the check valves installed like the manufaturer mandated, all at an extra cost of $3300. I chose to use a different provider for this service this time around. I will never use Smith Drilling again and would advise everyone else to do the same.
