MIKE'S PLUMBING & DRAIN CLEANING

Was quoted "less than an hour" to repair. In fact, the repair WAS simple, to install a correct type tub spout, a 5 minute job. Plumber said that he didn't have a spout in truck and would need to come back. Charged 1 hour and 45 minutes labor ($288.75) and $55.19 for a spout which retails for about $35, for a bill totaling $376.90. Office refused honor original quote. So, in my experience, Mike's Plumbing overprices for labor, overprices for parts and refuses to honor a quote for a simple job. A simple spout replacement should not cost nearly $400.

Crew arrived a little late (less than an hour) but once here went right to work and provided good advice. Issue ended up getting resolved with the help of the city. Appreciated the team's work on the issue.

The company was courteous on the phone and called back to give me the day and time of service, along with the name of the plumber. The plumber was friendly, yet focused on his job. He completed the drain cleanings efficiently and neatly. A positive experience with a plumbing company!

Pipes were in a difficult location. The job was well done and price was reasonable. Some of the issues required a couple of visits, but company kept good communication at all times.

Gave me an estimate on getting a new one. For now did a temporary fix.

No one ever called back so I called another company the next day and they took care of it in 2 days. The company that did the actual work is 1st Response, also on Angie's list.

Returned call after business hours, scheduled a couple of days out, showed up on time, did the job quickly. Everything was smooth and easy.

Alex did a great job. Not only did he solve the problem, but also left the bathroom very clean. He was very professional and hardworking.

It was a little difficult to get a hold of them, you had to leave a message and wait for a return call. They called the next morning, though, and asked for pictures for a quote. They took the rest of the day to get back to us (which was a little bit frustrating), but were able to give us a general quote. We made an appointment for 2 days later. We had something come up that day, and tried to change the appointment but were unable to. That was okay though, it was our fault. The plumber showed up a bit earlier than scheduled (which was great), and was very professional. He was quick (also great), and even flushed the toilet 3 times to make sure it did not leak any more. The price ended up being almost $100 cheaper that the quote, and the plumber even apologized that we didn't make the amount for using our coupon. (Which didn't bother us at all!) All in all is was a mostly excellent experience, and we will most definitely use them again!

The project ran into some obstacles; the clogged drain turned out to be more difficult to unclog than first thought and required to be snaked through the vent pipes on the roof. The storm drain, which we thought had roots growing into it and needed to be jetted, had actually collapsed and needed to be completely replaced, which required digging a fairly long trench through the front yard. Through it all, Mike communicated with us to make sure we knew exactly what was going on, and was very transparent about costs. I felt I received good guidance, and never felt that we were being taken advantage of. Mike is a great person and I will trust him with any plumbing work in the future.

This was a big job and Mike did a great job assessing what was needed, recommending what had to be done vs. things to think about in the future. Will absolutely use again, they were great.

Both Mike and his employee were timely, friendly and knowledgeable. Also the women who set up the appointment was very respectful and worked with me to get the job done asap. They did have to reschedule or initial appointment but they contacted us prior to so that it would be a time that worked best for us. Actually was able to move the initial appointment up speeding up the whole process.

From the initial email response to the fixed drain Mike and his staff were professional, courteous and knowledgeable. They agreed that my requirements would most likely fit within the hour purchased, were easy to schedule and notified me that they were running a bit late for appointment. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again or recommend them to friends and family.

Angies list purchase. Subsequent follow-up by their office was both prompt and very professional. Day of install Mike himself along with one of his team came out - were super focused (yet pleasant and professional) and the work went off without a hitch. They did what they said they were going to do and at the price said they were going to do it for. I'll use these folks again when/if needed.

They sent out someone who was extremely inexperienced. He came out the first time for ten minutes, made two phone calls because he didn't know what he was doing and he left. He came again and didn't know what he was doing. The plumber then came and was there for less than a half an hour and they charged an outrageous price. They charged each time the kid came out and he didn't know what he was doing. I am not happy with this service.

Alex and Cody were on time, very polite, and rebuilt/replaced the parts of my 2 aging toilets in an hour as promised, so the amount quoted was the amount paid. I would definitely use Mike's Plumbing again.

He came out and made an initial diagnosis of a bad faucet, helped me with a warranty claim against Moen and did not charge me anything for the service call! When they came back to install the new replacement faucet they only charged me for the installation. They were clean, polite, professional. I love Mike's Plumbing and recommend them highly.

Mike and his assistant were on time, polite and thoroughly professional. Before he did the repair, Mike made a point of telling us that, while he could do the repair, our very old pipes and fixtures really need replacing and not repairing. As we're at least a few months away from remodeling the bathroom entirely, and the inconvenience of having this shower and tub inaccessible was getting very old, we did go ahead with the repair, but appreciated him double-checking with us. It seemed challenging at times, working with our old pipes, etc., but Mike clearly knows what he's doing. The repair necessitated cutting a hole in our laundry room ceiling, and even with that, they left both rooms they worked in neat and clean. We have now been using the shower and tub for over a month and the leaking has stayed fixed. We couldn't have been happier with Mike's Plumbing and we will be calling them again when we go to remodel our bathroom.

I felt that this was a somewhat tricky job and I feel lucky that I called on Mike to do this. I knew immediately that Mike was the right person for the job when I wondered (out loud) if using a saws all would be faster and more effiicient in removing some of the sheet rock in the basement ceiling. He was using a hand saw and moving it very carefully to remove the sheet rock. Once the sheet rock came out I could understand why he laughed at the thought of using a saws all because behind the sheet rock was the drain pipe (that we needed to remove) along with several bundles of electrical wiring and the hot and cold water pipes. In fact taking out the defective galvanized pipe was more like surgery than pipe removal. Yet out it came cleanly and was later replaced with new piping that drained so much better than I had ever seen it. Mike is a careful, thoughtful plumber and I would recommend him for any tricky job. It was such a relief to have that job completed. Thanks again!

Nicole was very prompt with all her Angie's List messages, was very professional and kind! She had Mike call me right away to discuss my plumbing questions. Mike was also kind and professional as he explained everything I needed AND saved our HOA from needlessly spending hundreds of dollars!!! WOW!! :-) We are very grateful and will call these guys first any time our home or HOA has plumbing needs!!! THANK YOU!

I have now found my favorite plumbing company! My sweet husband tried for two hours the day before trying to clear a sink drain in a rental property we own. My husband is no light weight when it comes to fixing things, but at midnight he gave up and asked me to call a plumber. After reading reviews on Angie's List I called Mike's Plumbing. They answered the phone right away, scheduled me for that day, and were even willing to give me a price estimate beforehand (which was very reasonable). Mike was right on time, professional, polite, cleaned up afterwards, and went the extra mile answering a request I had on my water heater. I will be happy to use them again and again. (My husband does so much already, I'll spare him the torture of plumbing in the future).

First, owner Mike and technician Alex disassembled the main tub shoe & overflow, installed a new joint fitting and washer, new tub shoe gaskets and an overflow gasket. Alex finished the tub overflow connection while Mike cleared the sludge in the master bedroom lavatory sink line. Next Mike cleaned threads on the bass pipe in the wall, installed home owner supplied brass nipple, and reset the p-trap assembly; then ran water testing for leaks. Lastly, Mike filled the tub, drained and found no leakage. All work was done professionally in an hour. Cost of gaskets and tub joint fitting appeared to be at contractor's cost. Mike's Plumbing & Draining Cleaning provided me excellent service at a very reasonable cost.
