Vic and his company did an outstanding job on our bathroom remodel. He kept us up-to-date on work schedule and needs. His knowledge of permits, modern styles, and timelines were a great help in the beginning. When we had some additional work needing to be done, his contacts worked out great, and kept us on schedule.

Vic Johnson helped us through a very difficult kitchen restoration project after a water leak. He was especially helpful in our negotiations with our insurance company, writing up separate estimates for restoring the kitchen as it was and for doing some upgrades we opted for. Vic has an excellent set of subcontractors, and they were able to bring the project in under budget. We would definitely hire them again.

In 2022, we decided to add a new kitchen and substantially remodel our mid-1960s Edmonds rambler. Johnson and Sons Construction gave us an estimate to replace everything but the flooring in the primary bathroom. It was beyond my budget and Vic was very amenable to reducing the scope of work to a point that the re-do was affordable. I was also able to do some work to reduce the costs (painting and installing light fixtures). They gave great recommendations for the finishes and styles and worked with my work schedule to make this project happen. I appreciated their flexibility and they were on schedule and on time when they promised. I'm very happy with the results!!

Vic Johnson and his crew were extremely knowledgeable about construction in general, friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process answering a multitude of questions, pivoting when needed, helping educate us homeowners of the hows and whys, and bending over backwards to make things right...when work wasn't going to plan (and remodels never go perfectly as planned). I interviewed several contractors before choosing Johnson & Sons and chose them after speaking to three of their references. They received outstanding recommendations that went FAR above “5 stars…they are great.” Each of the references had a story about how their experience with Johnson & Sons exceeded expectations, about how Vic was a superior project manager, about how they hired Johnson & Sons for project after project. After hearing several horror stories from people who had worked with others, I am delighted to report that our experience with Johnson & Sons for a master bath remodel was accomplished on time, under budget, and as promised! Vic excels at communication, Jon is a skilled contractor, Tony is skilled at almost everything. Another item for the “plus” column is that Johnson & Sons has found success using certain sub-contractors repeatedly, and we benefitted from those long-standing relationships

Johnson and Sons have done remodels for out kitchen (in 2016) and two bathrooms (2021 and 2022). I don't think we would ever use another contractor. First of all, Vic Johnson is an excellent communicator, giving helpful advice and ensuring that all parties understand what will be done, the budget, the timeline, etc. The work that he and his team do is of top quality. The one time we were unhappy with a counter, Vic redid the work at no additional charge to us. The subcontractors that he uses as part of his team are all top-notch. In addition, after the work is done, he is always available to help on a timely basis with whatever questions or follow up we have needed, even if it's not directly related to the work they did.

Johnson & Sons remodeled our 1990's kitchen and replaced all of the flooring on the first floor and staircase of our home during the months of May - August of 2022. We met with multiple local companies to bid the work and Vic's bid came in under or comparable to the other estimates we received. We chose their company based on referral, price, and comfort level with Vic. Vic is fantastic to work with. He is knowledgeable, responsive, and creates a culture of partnership on his team's projects. This was our first time tackling a renovation project of this scope and using a general contractor. Vic and his team made the experience comfortable and as enjoyable as it could be considering we had no kitchen! :) There was a long wait time to get the project started due to Covid-caused supply issues on Johnson and Sons other jobs (we originally met with Vic in June of 2021 and the work did not start until May of 2022). It was hard to be patient, but it actually worked in our favor. Being able to choose and purchase materials in advance meant no supply issues or back orders once our project got started. Every sub that Vic and Jon used on our job or vendor he referred us to was professional, kind, and did a great job. If we ever had a question about quality or how the job was progressing (and we had a lot -- remember we'd never done this before!) Vic was patient, flexible, and worked with us until we were satisfied. As our job progressed, issues within our home were uncovered that were not in the scope of work included in our kitchen remodel. A water leak was found in an adjacent wall when kitchen drywall was removed, and holes in our roof were discovered when the electrician was in the attic running conduit. Even though these setbacks were not part of our kitchen remodel, Vic's guys jumped in and found solutions or recommended sub contractors to solve problems. There were multiple times that we had questions and within minutes either Vic or Jon were on site to address a concern or answer a question-- even after our job was complete. We could not be more excited about our new kitchen or pleased with our choice of contractor. We are already planning to hire Johnson and Sons again to renovate our primary bathroom!

Johnsons and Sons, once again, make the vision a realty. New floors, cabinets, countertops, paint, lighting in our Laundry Room/Mud Room-entryway (and new fireplace!). Top to bottom: perfect. Vic's communication throughout the project never left us guessing who was coming when and what we could expect on a day-to-day basis. He was always very clear on the cost and timing, no surprises. Jon gets the work DONE; I'm not sure there's anything he cannot do. And Tony . . . his tile work is second to none. We've asked Tony to tackle many and varied tile projects; his attention to detail has never left us disappointed and his finished product has always been the highlight. The Johnson and Sons subs (flooring, drywall, paint, electrical) are courteous, professional, and timely. When things are "missed" or overlooked (as ALWAYS happens with ANY project), the subs promptly return to get the work done, never a problem. Two more rooms to go and Johnson and Sons will have touched every room of our house.

Vic and his crew were amazing. He has high quality subcontractors and he is amazing at getting everything lined up. We’re very impressed by the attention to detail and are madly in love with our new kitchen.

Fantastic result with a crew that is like having family around my house

Vic and his team are amazing! They took our terrible tiny kitchen and turned it into the showpiece of the house. It is the kitchen of our dreams and we love to show it off. A couple years later and we still absolutely love the work they did and have hired them for every project since! As impressive as the actual work, I really want to compliment their communication, we always felt in the loop and like we were really being listened to. At every step of the way we felt like they were really doing everything they could to make our ideas into reality, not that they were trying to sell us on anything. You will definitely underestimate how stressful and disruptive large remodels can be and you want your contractor to be a trusted partner in the process, and that's Johnson & Sons.

I had a horrible little galley kitchen with a partial wall that separated it from the living and dining room area. It had very little counter space and was in desperate need of an update (circa 1983). I hired Johnson and Sons and they did not disappoint. I now have an amazing open concept kitchen with tons of counterspace. It still amazes me how big the kitchen and living area feels now. Ok so down to some details. They replaced cabinets and countertops, installed an island, tile backsplash, new flooring and scraped and resurfaced the ceiling (I had the old acoustic ceiling) for the kitchen, dining room and living room. Vic, Jon and crew were professional, honest and did beautiful work. Vic provided guidance when picking out materials and kept communication with me throughout the remodel so that I knew what to expect and when to expect it. My house is an older home and it is not without its issues. I really appreciate how hard Jon and crew worked to make the old look new again like the extra texture on the walls to help match to new ceiling and find solutions for a few of the uncovered issues like a joist where the hood vent needed to be, beat up base trim and older electrical wiring. They really went above and beyond, and I couldn’t be happier with my kitchen remodel. I highly recommend Johnson and Sons Construction and would hire them again.

We had water loss in our house. In addition to the restoration work, we decided to do a broader remodel at the same time. We actually hired a different company that promised to make our house all new again, but we had a lot of delays and communication issues, and ultimately walked away from that company. We had already moved into temporary housing for the remodel, and needed another contractor to step in quickly. Johnson and Sons rose to the occasion and were able to get us back into our house quicker than the first company would have. Our remodel was basically the whole house. Floors, interior paint, all 3 bathrooms and the kitchen. The price was competitive. The timeline was good. The communication was outstanding, which was very important to us. Vic was always available to answer questions and proactive in letting us know what was going on. Jon and Tony were patient and willing to make adjustments as requested. We did discover an issue based on a previous contractor's faulty work, but Vic was quick to explain the situation and give us options and prices. We would definitely recommend them to others.

We are so happy to have worked with Johnson and Sons on our project. After nearly 6 months of planning and bouncing around with an unresponsive contractor, we were struggling to get our project (an 8’ x 20’ addition + master bed and bath remodel) off the ground. Once we connected with Johnson and Sons, Vic quickly spent time getting to know us, understanding our vision, and offering feedback and recommendations. We were able to start work as soon as all of the permits cleared. Throughout the process, Vic and his team were transparent, courteous, and communicative. I especially appreciated Vic’s responsiveness throughout the process. He was proactive in giving updates and provided same day responses to any questions or comments from us. Vic and his team were nothing short of professional and I would recommend them to anyone looking to have bed/bath/remodel work done in the area.

We waited 1 year from project completion before writing this review for the 'honeymoon' period to wear off... but it never did. We went into this project with our eyes wide open, having heard so many stories of other peoples remodel projects ending in less than stellar results. Our experience with Johnson and Sons, from planning and project quoting thru demo and remodel, more than met our expectations. We would not hesitate in using them again and/or recommending them to our friends and family for their projects.

I called Johnson & Sons for a quote on our project to build a new attached garage. Vic answered the phone himself, and while he convinced me that we are too far outside of their normal area of business to be practical, he did spend over 30 minutes answering my questions, and offering some very generous advice and references on how to approach my project. I have to say, I did not expect someone to be as forthright and open with their knowledge and ideas, especially to someone they would not be doing business with. But after reading his other reviews, I can see that this is exactly the kind of expertise and service once can depend on receiving from this highly rated company. Thank you Vic!

From tip-to-toe everything was organized, efficient, well communicated and professional!!! We are sooo incredibly happy with our bathroom that went from drab 1980s style to exactly what we wanted! There was never a time where we felt left out on an "island" without any communication or information and we knew what would be happening on a daily basis. Not only was the communication top notch, but the work was professional over and over again. There was NO mess afterwards and each and every contractor was absolutely respectful of our property. We can't say enough on how happy we are with the finished product. I would hire them over and over again.

We hired Johnson and Sons to replace some old worn siding and to rebuild a rotting overhang above our front door. They were responsive and got started within just a few days of us reaching out. Results were fantastic and helped us get prepared for a whole house painting project. Vic always does a good job suggesting a few options depending on cost/goals. He doesn't try to upsell and is very honest and straight forward. Would definitely work with him and his team again.

From start to finish Vic and his team did a great job with our kitchen. We had an extensive remodel done, gutting the original kitchen and completely changing the layout. Vic and his brother Jon listened to what we wanted, made suggestions to improve it and built exactly what we were imagining. Vic made several suggestions for a kitchen designer, suppliers and cabinetry and stayed in touch through the whole process - being our first major remodel this really helped us feel comfortable through the process. When the inevitable hiccups happened during the remodel Vic and Jon made sure we knew what was going on and handled all the details to make it right. The end result is a kitchen my wife and I love and we came in on budget and with only minor delays.

Vic and his team were able to complete our kitchen remodel even though we dealt with shutdowns amidst the start of the pandemic. They did a full kitchen overhaul and we are delighted with the results.

First impressions go a long way. I sent out a request to several Angie's List companies to get a quote for our master bath remodel. Vic was the only one to reach out to us. While I have heard it's good to get three quotes, when no one will respond, you don't have much choice. We were novices, and when we met with Vic he walked us through our ideas and let us know what would work, what wouldn't, and was attentive and listened to our ideas and concerns. The quote may have been higher than we might have paid elsewhere, but I am firm believer in you get what you pay for. As for his team, they were a pleasure to have working on our project, from the electricians to the plumbers to Tony, who did a great job with the tiling. Even if you only get one quote, I feel that Vic and his team are well worth it. Kitchen next?
