Mike and his team at FSE did a great job with their work on our house! They helped scope the project to keep within our limited budget and did a great job. They also left the house clean and livable each day after work was performed.

Mike and his helper (can't remember her name) were very professional and did a very nice job. They communicated with me every step along the way. The final results look great!
Description of Work: They installed an outlet and ran a chase for HDMI for a projector in the ceiling of our 1st floor family room. This involved running a line to an existing circuit, fishing it into the garage, up the wall, then inside the ceiling between floors. They also ran smurf tubing for the HDMI chase. In addition they also installed a USB outlet where they were hooking in the electrical line, installed a ground fault outlet, and fixed a 3-way switch installation.

I first reached out to FSE (through Angie's list) on August 8. I received a response August 9 stating that they were booked out 4 to 6 weeks, so I agreed to put on a wait list. Contacted them again on October 2 to see if my work was close to getting scheduled. They put me on the schedule for Oct. 16. This was approximately nine weeks from original contact. I received a call prior to the visit stating that the charge would be $85/hr and confirming the appointment. The electrician was scheduled between 8am - 9am. Two electricians arrived at approximate 8:57am, one being an apprentice. The new outlet was knocked out fairly quickly by the senior electrician. The apprentice started by investigating the floodlight. I did notice that the senior electrician spent at least half his time with the apprentice. The floodlight problem was due to either a broken or improperly set sensor. The issue with the lamp was, well, a bad lamp. The work was completed at approximately 12:05pm (three hours, eight minutes after they arrived). I was billed at a rate of $150/hour ($85 for the electrician, $65 for the apprentice) for four hours. I am disappointed that I did not receive the rate discussed, and I am fairly confident that the experience electrician could have knocked out all three tasks within three hours. My primary reasons for giving less than an A were: Price (D) : for charging $65/hr more than discussed, and for charging a full four hours for barely over three hours work. Quality (B) : primarily for the time it took to discover what I expect are fairly routine issues Responsiveness (B) : tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but I suspect I may not have gotten on the schedule at all if I hadn't contacted them again Professional (B) : again, giving the benefit of the doubt, but charging for two people when a good bit of that was one training the other, and charging the full four hours for both when I probably got a total of 4-5 real "person-hours" of actual work on my home
Description of Work: Install an outdoor outlet, investigate a problem with a floodlight and a wall lamp.

Response from Full Service Electric, LLC
[Member Name Removed], I am sorry your experience with Full Service Electric was less than ideal. I have revised the invoice to include only 3 hours of labor for each 1 journeyman & 1 apprentice. I wish you would have contacted us directly with your concerns as I'm sure we could have done even more to remedy the situation. I was completely unaware that you were unhappy until I read your review. The $85 an hour rate you were originally quoted (which is our old rate, it has since increased slightly due to increased business costs) was for having 1 journeyman on site. The additional $65 an hour was for the apprentice at a lower rate. I agree we should have let you known at the first conversation that there may be an apprentice working with the journeyman. I am going to give our field crews more flexibility to reduce hours on an invoice if they feel the time spent was unproductive or progress was slower than normal due to something in our control. We will utilize this review to make some changes where needed to facilitate our ongoing endeavor to provide a positive experience for each & every customer. Best, Mike

Full Service reviewed old electrical wiring/ panel, and upgraded to current specs. Rolled new hot tub to location, wired it up, tested it. Tub only worked reliably for a few days, but this was likely due to failure of tub component. We are scheduling a hot tub repair service to review/ replace component. We were very happy with Full Service Electric and will be scheduling additional electrical work with them in the future.

Mike and his team did a great job updating the electricity in my 1950's house. They were punctual and professional and willing to work around my schedule. Mike was upfront about the prices and the time needed for the jobs, which were both very reasonable considering the amount of work they did. Mike was the most knowledgeable and communicative of the electricians that came out to provide estimates. I would hire FSE again and recommend highly to anyone.

Great! I needed the heaters installed quickly. Most electricians I contacted gave me dates a month or more out. FSE did the job that same week. Arrived on time. Brought the heaters I needed plus two thermostats, did the installation, took all the old stuff away. Neat and clean. Great job. Work well. I would definitely hire again.
Description of Work: Installation of baseboard heaters. Replace old heaters - two in the living room are 8 feet and 27 inches. One in the bedroom is 36 inches. Plus 2 new thermostats. Heaters, thermostats and labor to install.

After about a month of off and on attempts at self diagnosing my issues. And just short of removing my drywall to see the wiring. Mike came as planned with help. Explained how much per hour he charged. Within about an hour he had everything figured out and properly functioning. The circuit breaker for the hot water tank wasn't properly seated in fuse box. For the first time since purchasing my house I have light downstairs and couldn't be happier!! Thank you!!! 100% satisfied.
Description of Work: I had a wall with light switches that had no power to it. Which equally no lights to my downstairs den. A brand new hot water heater that would periodically not heat the water. Outside decorative lights that did not work either.

Mike is very prompt in returning calls and was on-time and on-budget. He installed beautiful bright LED recessed lights with dimmers which are nicer than what we were expecting in our high-ceilinged living room and also the hallway. He also installed 2 arc fault receptacles that will shut things off if arcing occurs, which it did shortly after when a painting contractor powered up his sprayer so it's nice to know those catch problems in the system. While he was there, I mentioned to him about an under-the-cabinet light fixture that was no longer working in the kitchen even though we'd replaced the bulbs (this was not part of the original bid.) He said he'd take a look at that for us. It was such a busy day (other contractors were there working on other things at the same time--Mike graciously worked around the others) that both he and I forgot about the kitchen light. After we'd paid him for the job, I called him back to see if he could stop by for the kitchen light when he was in the area. He did within a few days, took it apart and found a loose connection and fixed it--no extra charge. We are already using him again--to install a bath fan for us. Mike's great and we highly recommend him and will use him for any electrical needs we have.

Arrived when he said even though he got lost. Mike and his helper drapped the room and cleaned it nicely when finished. I had suggested one arrangement but he had other ideas which turned out much better. He made other helpful suggestions and even set up a light so I could see what the lamp looked light before they started. He suggested the dimmer switch and made suggestions for under cabinet lighting that would be an improvement.

It went well. He came and inspected the areas of the house that needed the work. We gave him a written list of the basic items we wanted installed and where. He sent us an estimate by email and gave us a choice of outdoor and indoor fixtures to choose from and educated us regarding types of light (spectrum - warm vs cool). We made one addition to the original plan - an additional outdoor outlet, prior to the date of service. We were able to schedule around my spouse's work schedule - so someone would be home. His employees were on time. The work was finished in one day. The only minor glitch was that the one old outlet in the basement was removed and we didn't notice that until a couple weeks later. It wasn't on the list to be removed but in retrospect we are glad it was. We contacted Mike who came within a week and installed a new outlet on the wall where the previous one had been. The written installation directions for the timing and range settings of the outside security lights was not well written by the manufacturer. So after a couple days of changing the settings, we contacted Mike and he explained exactly what to do. Which we did, and they are now working great! The 'dungeon' is now a well lit enjoyable space. And we learned that it is important to be specific in writing about 'what stays' as well as 'what goes' when working with a service provider, so all members of the team understand. We will definitely hire Mike again for our next project/remodel.

I got Mike's name from Angie's List and was attracted by the fact that Mike's company had received a "Super Service Award" in 2014; not to mention that all of his evaluations were "A" by all of his reviewers. I gave Mike a call and he responded promptly to my telephone inquiry. He showed up on the day of my call to disconnect our old hot tub and then came back the day of our new tub install to complete the electrical connection as promised. Mike's made some good suggestions which made the installation a much cleaner set up than what we had originally. He impressed me as a knowledgeable and experienced journeyman electrician, and is a very pleasant person to be around. I will definitely call Full Service Electric for future electrical needs.
