CEMAS CONSTRUCTION

I was taking care of my dads house repairs. He had minor repairs needed for roof. He has dementia and Alzheimers so I was trying to help him out due to him forgetting constantly. His neighbor is this Construction Company/friend. We already had hired another contractor that was at the house going over the needed repairs when Cemas heard about it from the landscaper. He went over after the contractor left and talked my dad into signing a contract for a roof replacement and also talked him into getting the insurance involved. This was not needed but since my dad forgot most everything, he signed the contract. This all happened on Fathers Day, 2012. I called him on the phone and told him we had a verbal contract already with the other contractor. He told me too bad, he already had the estimate/contract signed by my dad. All I could do was say....WOW. I have copies of this contract...ie: Free roof inspection...$100.00 What? FREE??? How do you charge for a free roof inspection? When I asked him why it is being replaced...he said that insurance will replace, then why not? Well, because it didn't need it and now his rates went up. If he has another claim within so many years, he could get cancelled. This was not up to CEMAS and he knew we already had another contractor because he argued with him in our front yard. He also did not pressure wash the house prior to the paint, even though he charged for this so I expect the paint job will not last very long and will have to be redone again. This is just another example of the kind of businesses I have experienced in the Wenatchee Valley. They constantly take advantage of the elderly people due to the memory issues that they have and that they are mostly retired. He has had caregivers steal, contractors over charge...the list goes on and on. It has taken me a long time to attain copies of all these contracts and go over them. I know have proof even though it is too many years ago to sue him but I can write a bad review to help anyone else out. If you want proof...I can send a photo of contract.
