I've worked with Joe for almost 20 years. His work is impeccable, he's rock solid on scheduling and I would recommend him to anyone.

Perfect! If you want absolutely perfect hardwood floors hire Shorewood Hardwood Flooring. Easy to work with, fair pricing, perfectionist’s. Would hire over and over again. They repaired and refinished our main floors, installed floors on second level and basement. Don’t hesitate to use them.

The Shorewood team was awesome. They showed up on time, completed the work on schedule, and were super friendly. The floors were completely restored to their former glory, probably better!

Joe was a pleasure to work with, start to finish. His bid was not only the most competitive but we also decided to go with him because he has was knowledgeable and we trusted him immediately. His crew showed up on time and the job was completed within the timeframe. He ripped up our old carpet, tile, fake hardwoods, baseboards, worked hard to make our subfloor level, and provided me with a custom stain color. In addition, he ended up having to rebuild one of the staircases which he did not charge us extra for. He also applied nonslip finish to our stairs at no extra cost. When he was here, we always felt that he was giving us his full attention and made us feel like his most important job. He always took the time to answer all my questions. We have gotten so many compliments on our floors; the contractor that we hired after the floors were finished even commented on how great they looked and asked us for Joe's info so that he could possibly use him. We are so glad we went with Joe. We highly recommend him!

FANTASTIC. Joe and his crew did a phenomenal job. The floors were hand sanded along the edges and lightly sanded over all. A clear sealant was applied and they look brand new. I really appreciated the work Shorewood Hardwood Flooring did for us and would highly suggest to anyone to consider them first over any other refinishing company.

Had the work done while we were on vacation. Had the floors not looked so great you would have never know they were here.

He came for the estimate, was very nice, took measurements but never got back to me with the estimate. I called a week later to remind him but never heard back.

It was a wonderful experience dealing with Shorewood Hardwood Flooring from the time of the estimate to the completion of the work. The owner, Joe Brower, came out my house to discuss my particular flooring needs and provided excellent information about my options. Joe and his workers, Kevin and Zach, are professional and skilled flooring experts. Once the work started, they showed up on time, left things tidy at the end of every day and completed the job in the estimated time. There were a few small finishing details that needed to be fixed and these were responded to promptly. Some of the old baseboards needed replacing and they were so well-matched to the baseboards being re-used that I can hardly tell the old from the new. The maple floors are just beautiful, so much better than I had ever imagined!! My friends all are amazed at the transformation to my house. You won't go wrong choosing this company.

I got an estimate from the guy. Took awhile for him to respond but when he did he provided very helpful information. Ultimately I decided to get my flooring from another outfit. But I felt this guy was very knowledgeable and professional and would be an excellent choice for flooring needs especially if one were choosing hardwood.

The floors turned out PERFECT! We are so pleased and actually a bit surprised. I had a number of companies come look at the project and I learned it wasn't an easy straightforward job. Joe and his team are competitively priced, professional and did an amazing job. Couldn't be happier.

Our floors turned out fantastic. Joe and his crew got into our house and made quick work of our 800 sq ft installation. Joe told us up front how long job would take and delivered on time and the final product was beautiful. They took time to plastic wrap our cabinets and pictures hanging on the wall to minimize dust etc, and then removed it all, leaving us with minimal clean up after completion. We could not be happier with the service received from Shorewood Hardwood Flooring.

From estimate to completion. The service and quality could not be beat. Prompt, professional, friendly and perfection. I was expecting a great finish and I got better than I expected. My jaw dropped when I walked in. Highly recommended!!!

Joe and his guys exceeded my expectations! Gutted a 1942 home, moved some walls and there was a lot of repair work to be done. They were professional, did excellent work and would not hesitate to hire them in the future. The transition from the old to the new flooring that they installed was seamless. Joe takes great pride in his work and the guys that work with him follow in his foot steps. Beautiful work!

Using the "contact us" form on their website, I contacted Shorewood to request quote for refinishing fir floors in my home. I never got a response.

Joe was nice, and easy to speak with. Said he'd send me the bid and got my email address. I never heard from him again and contacted him twice asking for a bid, and if he was still interested.

We chose Joe/Shorewood as a bidder for our hardwood flooring project based on the phenomenal reviews from Angie's List. Not only was Joe the low bidder, but he was prompt with his estimate and flexible with the timing of work. As a former project manager, I am very skeptical that work will be done as budgeted/estimated and on time. Joe did not charge a penny more than the estimate, except for one change I threw in at the last minute. He told me the work would be completed in five days and it was. We could not be happier with the outcome. Joe shared with me that he learned his trade by apprenticing at luxury homes in the Seattle area - this was an important factor (beyond the low bid) in our decision, and we were not disappointed with the level of detail in his work. When I requested a top finish layer of Bona Traffic Anti-slip be applied to our stairs, Joe investigated if it would work with his finish process. We are extremely happy with that choice and appreciative that Joe was willing to look into our request. I would highly recommend adding the anti-slip finish for stairs (not for regular floor surfaces) as it makes a significant difference in traction. Be prepared for the mess that follows work of this magnitude. Despite completely taping off with plastic those parts of the house not in the "construction zone", there was dust on every surface in our home. Joe and his crew did a good job of cleaning what they could, but anyone having this type of work done must be ready to do extensive cleaning afterward; that's just the nature of the beast! My only suggestion for improvement in service would be more preparatory communication; I felt I was asking a lot of questions about the process that could have been addressed without my prompting. That said, Joe was always prompt and courteous in his response - he never seemed annoyed, no matter how inane some of my questions may have been! We would highly recommend Joe/Shorewood to anyone looking to have anything done involving hardwood floors.

I'm very, very happy with the work Joe and his crew did. I highly recommend this company! + Competitive price. I got four quotes from different contractors which are all top rated on Angie's List. Shorewood provided me the most competitive price, which is about 20% lower than the highest one. + Quality: I love my new floors. The newly installed floors look exactly like the old floors and you can't tell the difference. + Clean up: They cleaned up their work every day. It's very nice. + Punctual: Joe and his team always showed up on time as we scheduled every time. + Easy to communicate: Joe always responded to my call or emails very quickly. + Care about their work: You can tell that they care about their work and reputation. (1) They missed counting two oak flush mount vents in their quote, and when they found, they ordered two extra oak vents without charging me any extra money. (2) I changed my opinion from oil based finish to water based finish after the contract was signed, and they accepted the changes without any extra charges. (3) They helped move around the furniture before starting out their work, and placing them back after the work is finished. Some other companies that I quoted clearly told me that they wouldn't do that and I had to hire another moving company to do so, in spite of the fact that I haven't fully moved in my house and there are only a few pieces of furniture. This actually is a very important reason for me to choose Shorewood. (4) After the whole work is finished, I told Joe that I found two minor problems around the fireplace. They are actually not so bad and you have to look very closely and carefully to find out the problem. But Joe still came over to my house and spend two half days to have the problem fixed. All short, I'm very happy to find Shorewood and ask them to do my hardwood floor job.

Joe and his workers did a very nice job, but we did not think the finish was right for our home. So, Joe did it over with a different gloss as he wanted us to be happy with the outcome. And did another very nice job. He did not want to charge us for the do-over, but we worked that out with him. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Nice people working with him, as well. Very careful and didn't do any damage to our walls/baseboards.
