I have been around construction my whole life as my father was and is still a custom home builder and designer. I worked for him up until around 2004 during which we did ground up construction and remodel projects. I also went to trade school for architectural CAD drafting for 2 years so I sometimes use this skill to provide drawings for my projects. I was able to learn all the different trades working for my father and some of his subcontractors through the years. Since then I have had my own construction business and have been working here in Spokane WA since 2009. I enjoy construction and take pride in my work. I mainly do all the work myself with a helper. I subcontract plumbing, heating, and electrical to subcontractors that are licensed and bonded in Spokane.

Please search the Angies List website for how much general contractors charge per hour. The 1st answer is 45-85 per hour. I am thinking of raising my rate! Anyway sorry you weren't completely satisfied. I have to make a certain amount to stay in business.
David was immediately contacted to be the general for our repairs, we knew from the moment the storm started and the news showed how bad it was getting that a GOOD contractor would be impossible to find for many, many months. Initial insurance estimate was substantially less than we expected, however then our insurance company called in a structural engineer from out of town. That took us to nearly Christmas getting that inspection done and the write up (a large tree hit the house causing damage). We did find out that more of our rafter structure was severely damaged from that inspection. The third set of estimates came from David when the house could actually be inspected with no snow on the roof. Since David's estimate was more than the first couple of insurance adjustments, a third agent was dispatched out to inspect the house with David showing him the work he wanted to do and what was needed vs what the initial agents estimated. The insurance agent complimented me on a great and fair contractor and quickly accepted the full amount of the bid with no quibbling. He told us how "lucky" we were to even have a contractor as all of their recommended list had long ago stopped even taking work. As an aside one of my neighbors was still waiting for a recommend by the insurance contractor to do more than get his contract signed and disappear for literally a year! We had to wait until May to get started, needed long enough with good weather for the entire roof to be cut off the house, rafters and all. My only quibble with the job David did comes then, I would have requested drop clothes be put under the house when the roof was cut off. We worked with David to make improvements to the house that we paid for over the top of the insurance repairs which really dramatically improved the house for us, changed the look substantially, and have greatly increased our satisfaction with coming home to our NEW home. We were able to remain in the home the entire time David was working on the massive repair, we had to give up the living room and dining room for many weeks so we would not be tracking construction into our living space, but as soon as was possible David got that finished up so we could again live in the full space of the home. We completed final inspections in July 2016, while most of the homes around us had not even got simple shingles replaced, we had a major renovation done on time and on budget. I felt completely safe not being home while David and his workers were on site, felt my family was completely safe. Next time we do remodeling work, David will be doing the work.
Description of Work: After the famous 11-17-2015 windstorm, our entire rafter structure, roof, sofits, gutters, gables, had to be replaced from a 55' triple trunk tree falling on the house.

It could not have gone better. We were very pleasantly surprised when we finally returned home after 6 weeks out of the country to a gorgeous new master bath. During that time David sent me perhaps half a dozen short text messages, asking a question, clarifying a detail, or asking me to chose between alternatives. He made sure that every little detail was exactly what we wanted. When we returned and carefully examined his work, it was impeccable and perfection. I had considered doing the work myself... I'm glad I didn't. With his experience, expertise and attention to detail, he did a better job than I could have done, and I don't often admit that..
Description of Work: David helped us design and spec a total master bath remodel, and then over a period of approximately a month, WHILE WE WERE OUT OF THE COUNTRY, he figured out the intricate details and measurements to get the new shower, tub surround, and cabinets we wanted to all fit together beautifully into a somewhat limited space. He built a custom shower pan and curb and tiled the shower floor and walls with different sized ceramic tiles, around numerous shower heads and controls, with beautiful patterns of inlaid natural stone. He also built a custom shower seat, footrest, and wall niche; all with granite seats or sills. He installed a custom vanity, and then built and painted a custom tub surround to match the vanity, with a granite top. He then called and coordinated with the granite supplier, the glass supplier, and the plumber we had previously chosen, giving them his final exact measurements and time schedule and then overseeing delivery and installation since he was the one with a key to our house while we were gone. He also installed an underfloor electric floor heating system, and then installed a beautiful ceramic tile floor, on a diagonal. with 4" borders around the edges.

Dave did an excellent job putting in a mud set for a shower/bathroom in our basement. It was a small space requiring lots of cuts and Dave's work was virtually flawless. He built a shelf in as well, which was something he added on the fly. He was always punctual and professional. We would definitely (and have already) hire him again.

We were very pleased. The tile is beautiful and should last a long time. The grout is a synthetic type and while it was odifirous and caused the the contractor some discomfort it is very durable and will not pick up mold like some grout and it will last a long time. The contractor put in a built-in double shelf on the wall of the shower for bottles etc. which is handy. When the tub was installed we added two grab bars one vertical to the left and one horizontal which has a soap dish attached. We had had a jacuzzi tub but it was old and leaking. The new one is acrylic and very nice. No tubes underneath to leak. We will probably have David Rosetta back again in future to do some other tile work we have in mind.
Description of Work: Electrician wired for new bathroom lighting and a combination light and fan routed to the outside. Plumber installed a new bathtub, faucets for tub/shower and sink and elevated toilet. Contractor did the tile work for the shower and floor. All done very well.

David shows up on time and calls ahead to confirm. The work space was cleaned up every day so it wasn't a huge inconvenience to have this project going on during the days. The tile work is amazing. We had a few changes somewhat mid-project that David rolled with. This was a small, crappy guest bathroom that is now the best room in our house. I wish I could spend more time in there, it's that nice. I'm staying in a high-end resort right now, and their bathroom work is nothing compared to David's quality. I highly recommend Rosetta Construction for any household remodeling project.
Description of Work: David Rosetta took my late 70's bathroom (which was past its prime in the early 80's) and turned it into a modern masterpiece. A new tub and tile surround, tile floor and chair rail, new vanity, new lights, new door, new paint. The new plumbing is awesome and the fixtures look great.

When I called David Rosetta to get a bid for doing some work in my house, he definately came in with a reasonable price estimate. The work was done with great professionalism and care. David not only remodeled my bathroom but he also did some drywall repairs for me. His tile work on the bathroom floor is impeccable and done with great care. He installed a new vanity sink and cabinets for me as well. If I ever need work done in my home again he will definately be the first person I'd call.

We bought a 1908 home, which we love, but some things had to go. Somehow he figured out how to redesign our basement steps! Before they were horrible and scary! Now they are beautiful, not too steep, plenty of headroom and tread. Really amazing work. He restored our old balcony so we can use it. He built perfect steps off our deck and poured a cement slab for us. He has done a room of laminate flooring, and it turned out fabulous. Really, we would never hire anyone else. He is a great guy, easy to work with, has great ideas, and is a master craftsman!

What an incredible job! We purchased our own tile and faucet, but David installed it all. He removed the ugly pink tile we had for the past 25 years. What a difference! David offered suggestions on the size of tile to use and how he would install it. It is now totally more up to date. David showed up on time, always followed up with a phone call. He was great to work with. We will definitely use him again when we redo our other bathroom.

I liked Dave from the very first time we met. When I had first contacted him his father in law Bob had just passed and he was preparing for his funeral. I guess Bob had been Dave's partner in business for many years and Dave's right hand man. Did not know how this would effect Dave's performance being that I would be his first job without Bob. His instructions in the beginning was to basically finish the basement in a rustic theme with a bath and laundry room. Starting bid was 22k. There were no exact blueprints in the beginning because of my lack of vision. Dave helped me that vision one step at a time. The ideas started coming little by little as the work was done. The basement had 2 finished bedrooms and 1 unfinished. The unfinished was dismantled to add more room in rec room. My house was a 5 bedroom, 2 bath with 3/4 unfinished basement in the beginning. Now is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath with finished basement. Total project took approx. 3 mos. During that time the basement transformed into a rustic, unique design in which, I think, both Dave and I didn't In vision. Dave was always on time and always kept me informed. Communication is a big thing with me. I give people little slack in this day and age of cell phones and texting. Dave occasionally had the help a kind and courteous staff consisting of Josh (mudding and floors), Brandon (sanding and staining ect..), and Dave's lovely wife Summer who is a master painter. Dave also retained the help from Brent (plumber) and Solomon (electrician). Brent was a professional fellow who did all the plumbing for the bathroom, laundry room and also ran the pipe and did the propane connections to the fireplace. All the custom cut wood came from Brent's property of which he has a mill. Solomon is a very kind, courteous and overall pleasant young man in which there was no challenge he wouldn't tackle. He did all the lighting and electrical to the basement, installed LED lighting in entertainment center and ceiling, rope light, electric heaters with thermostat, installed 5 ceiling fans in all of my house, installed 8 LED motion lights surrounding my house and pole barn, and installed a security camera system with 8 cameras. He even helped me get the cameras set up (thru tech support) on my computer and cell phone. He's my electrician for life. I'm sure I have left some things out that they all did but the bottom line is that I am extremely happy. I have a 1 of a kind rec room (man cave)of which I am the envy of my buddies, an awesome bathroom where the first words out of everyone's mouth is "WOW", a very clean and beautiful laundry room with tons of storage. I went over budget a little because of the extras I added but it was worth it. I have a few more things to do with this house and hope that Dave is up for the challenge. One final note. I am recently divorced and moved here with my 19 yr old son who has autism. He sometime has trouble communicating with people which translates to others feeling uneasy, uncomfortable, and sometimes distant. Dave, Solomon and the entire crew was extremely nice, professional, and courteous to my boy and actively engaged him with conversation which is exactly what he needs to boost his communication skills and confidence. My son loved them all. In the end I'd like to think that not only have I succeeded in finding the right people for all of my remodeling, electrical, and plumbing needs but also have made some friends.
Description of Work: Finished a 1200 sq ft basement. At start the basement was pretty much framed and insulated with basic plumbing. Created a Rustic rec room (Man Cave) with a custom built in entertainment center with built in propane fireplace. Custom rustic built in knotty pine shelving surrounding the entire rec room with half log accents applied to heavily textured sheet rocked walls to give the illusion of trees growing in walls. All custom wood was milled by Dave's friend(who was also the plumber) Brent. All woodwork was sanded and double clear coated. Heavily textured ceiling with built in cans wired for pool table light and a rope light accent on 1 side of the room with crown molding giving a soft glow in room. Bathroom is completely custom with more rustic knotty pine built ins (corner built in bench and corner built in cabinet. Shower done in Italian tile and a pebble like tile giving the effect if a flowing river which starts at bathroom door, continues into shower floor and up the wall of shower to ceiling. Brushed bronze fixtures. Built in bench in shower made of a wood look tile. Travertine tile flooring in bath. Custom ordered sink called "Jurassic Onyx" sitting on a custom built, knotty pine and aspen pedestal. Laundry room has built in cabinetry throughout with custom pedestal built in to raise the washer/dryer. Pantry closet has built in oak shelving a knotty pine bi fold door. All doors done in solid core, knotty pine highly clear coated.

I had a prepared shower stall that needed tiling in a hurry. Called D&R and got a pretty quick callback and received a fair quote over the phone. They were currently working on a job but since I was in a hurry they would fit me in as soon as they could. Received a call a couple days later and they were over tiling my shower. The gave me recommendation and told me about latest trends. Day 1 they tiled then day 2 (next day) they came out and grouted. They went above and beyond the work in the original quote and did a fantastic job. They recommended against using bullnose tile for the floor border since it wasn't quite as tall as my shower pan. They cut the tile for this and put a nice grouted edge. I returned $80 worth of bullnose tile. They do much more than tile so i will be looking them up when I begin my kitchen remodel!

:We had a large basement that need to be finished. David, who is the Contractor at D&R Applied Trades LLP and Josh his helper did a really great job! They arrived on time, were very courteous, considerate, listened to what we wanted and got right to work. We had these structural round steel columns that were an eyesore, David recommended boxing them in and they turned out to be architecturally, ascetically pleasing to the room. We are absolutely thrilled with the way our basement turned out and we would definitely recommend them to others.

This was our first time ever hiring a contractor. We had called many contractors and several even came over. Of those only one other contractor gave us a bid that was way over our budget. All other contractors who came by did not follow up with an estimate/bid. David showed up and followed up with a bid. We did to not go with the origianal bid due to price, but I think it was a fair bid and we were just not expecting it to cost that much. Then we asked David for a bid on just the bathroom and we felt it was reasonable. After that we were able to afford adding things on. My husband and I did the demolition and the painting to save some money. David was professional and knowledgeable. He was always here when he said he was going to be. He was easy to be around and very respectful. Really a nice guy. He gave us many ideas and that was helpful since we didn't have a clear idea on what we wanted, just knew we needed a remodel soon since the shower had been leaking and was dated from 1977. He even taught my husband how to tile so we can do some future work for ourselves. And since my husband helped, David took all the demolition stuff to the dump for us when that was our responsibility! A nice suprise when we came home from a weekend at the lake! Overall, the experience was great. We love our new bathroom and it really is the nicest room in our house now.
Description of Work: We have a room off of our bedroom that we wanted as a walkin closet and a bathroom comes off of that room. We wanted a complete remodel of both rooms but decided that was too much for our budget. In the closet area, we had some drywall done and a soffit bulit to cover hvac duct. He skim coated our ceilings since what was there was a funny swirly pattern and textured everything to match what was already on the walls. In the bathroom, we gutted the whole thing and two small closets to make a larger room overall. David installed the mudset showerpan, the hardibacker in the shower and all tile. He also installed drywall, finish and texture in the bathroom. Installed a new vanity cabinet and baseboard, towel bars and mirror.
Bob and David of Applied Trade, LLP were excellent! They showed up on time, did excellent remodeling/repair work and worked without wasting time - so I stayed within my budget. They were by far the best craftsmen I hired when I remodeled my basement. Excellent.
Description of Work: D and R Applied Trade, LLP is excellent! Bob and David are very professional, prompt, hard-working and most of all honest and trustworthy. When I was re-modeling my basement I got 'burned' by a few workers (painter, electrician, carpenter). My neighbor recommened D and R Applied Trade, LLP - and they exceeded my expectations. Bob and David put in a new pantry/mud room, beadboard, hung cabinents, fixed my old backdoor and refinished my old wood basement stairs so they look brand new! I highly recommend D and R Applied Trade, LLP.
