The work went fine. However upon paying the bill we were charged $100 trip charge on a service that cost $179. We had hired them for the same work two years previous and were never charged a trip charge. It seems dishonest to not inform a repeat customer that an outrageous trip charge would be assessed!!

They responded the quickest, were very friendly and gave us a discount.

Terrible. First year they came out told me I needed a new spark arrester, paid for it thinking I truly did. The next year they came out to clean and told me I needed $900 worth of work done to my chimney. Called another place in town for a second opinion. He said I was the 3rd call that week with a similar situation all with estimates for repairs from this company. Got 2 other companies to come out and assess and low and behold, did not need the repairs!! Now I wonder if I really even needed the spark arrester!

A-1 did an excellent job. Although not the least expensive, they did work with me to alter theie quote for what I wanted completed. Technicians were very professional, and took extra care to assure no debris was tracked through house when they removed the old pumice liners in both upstairs and downstairs chimneys. They worked late into night to complete job in one day.

Once again, they called about 30 minutes before they arrived, showed up on time, and were extremely professional. As always they were friendly, neat, and efficient. They laid down protective clothes on the floor, and vacuumed the area when finished. They inspected the chimney, cleaned it and recommended, based on usage, history and quality of wood, when I should have the next cleaning. Also lubricated the damper slide that sticks at the beginning of the season. As always their customer service is great.

They did a great job. They were real good. They provided good service and were nice people. They cleaned up when they were done. They are not the cheapest guys around but it is worth what they are doing. I have been using them for years. They always show up when they say they will. We will have them out soon.

Two young men showed up on the appointed day at the appointed time and went to work. My wife and I had discussed doing this ourselves but opted to let the professionals do it. In under three hours they had installed 30 feet of new chimney pipe which involved dropping into a space behind the walls on the second floor from the attic. What took them a couple of hours would have taken my handy wife and I days to get done. While the cost was more than we wanted to spend it was worth every cent and who really "wants" to spend money on things like chimney pipes? Thanks A-1!

It needed to be relined and they cleaned it. The three times they have been here they were so nice. They explained everything to me. They were very clean when they were rebuilding the chimney. I can't say enough nice things about it.

This is the 3rd year we have used them on our and quot;new to usand quot; homebuilt in 1994. The first year they came to clean my chimney, they discovered that the Lopi Stove was incorrectly installed into the fake fireplace and was a serious fire threat. They installed a new firebox, connected it to a new stainless steel liner and got the codes department to inspect it for safety. They were clean, neat and timely. And always professional. The second year they came out they completely rebuilt my incorrectly installed gas fireplace. It was shutting off unexpectedly and we discovered there was a gas flow problem. Eventually we got it figured out. The wood stove was cleaned and works great. This year they cleaned my chimney and did routine maintenance to my older stove. Overall, I love them. They are always careful to not get ash all over the place. They are efficient and professional and when there is a problem, they tell me about it. It is never high pressure, just a fact. I absolutely believe that if they had not discovered the chimney/stove connection problem, this house would have burned down. It was that serious. I highly recommend them.

The install in the new build went smoothly. The building inspector said it was and quot;well doneand quot;. Our builder wanted the chimney painted to match the roof. This was done without blinking an eye. We had A-1 do our new stove because of the experience we'd had with the cleaning and rebuild of an older chimney. Rebuild-We had an old masonry chimney. When called to clean and inspect, using a camera, we could see it wasn't in good shape. After being rebuilt the wood stove works so much better, which tells me it needed to be done. It wasn't cheap but I couldn't believe it was even possible to build the liner and then insert it into the existing chimney. It was amazing to watch. It's a whole lot cheaper than tearing down and rebuilding a new chimney. Cleaning-When cleaning they as so careful and clean. There is no mess in the house. They vacuum and leave the stove and surrounding area clean. We will call them every year to clean.

A1 tried to get us to have expensive repairs. We had a second opinion who said nothing was wrong and they had had many such problems with A1.

They did a fast, great job. Very professional, on time.

After waiting a half hour past when they said they would show up, I called and was surprised that they wrote down my phone number and address wrong. I waited another half hour (hour total) before they showed. I was surprised that for $210 (included new customer, military, and multiple chimney discounts) they only ran the brush once through each chimney and vacuumed out the chimney. For that amount they could have ran the brush at least twice. They did take pictures, but I never saw them again. Decent experience but a little pricey for me.

We are still waiting and getting colder by the day! And still no call back to explain or reschedule, or incidentally, to apologize.

Technician called to see if he could arrive early and so he did. From the moment he arrived until he left it was a totally professional job. He explained what serviced he would be doing and what to expect as follow up. He carefully move furniture and laid dust covers so that no debris from either chimney would dirty the house. After both chimneys were cleaned all of the cover material was removed and there was no sign that he had ever been there. He then inspected the exterior [flue / masonry]. After cleaning and inspection he presented me with and reviewed his inspection report. Based on his recommendation [and my home inspector's several years ago] I had the technician order 2 rain caps / spark arrestors, which I will have A-1 install.
