The only reason that I gave a 4.5 instead of 5.0 on the quality of the work is because the work is not yet completed. The ripped up the old driveway and put in a new one. The concrete has to cure for a month before application of the sealant. There are a few spalls that need to be filled in but the driveway looks great. Even my picky friend thinks so. Polite, professional, quick. So far, Im pleased.

The patio and walkway look great. They were very poor at communicating with us and keeping us aware of their planned work schedule. They were poor at returning our calls that had gone to voicemail.

Just a bit of lack of attention to detail, visible trowel marks on the perimeter edging on the front patio. The back looks great. I would suggest the use of a sugar water solution rather than sprayed coke cola as I believe the Carmel color created a spotched appearance of dark and light. The sealer has effectively blended it all. No fault to Island Concrete but the cement mix wasn t as consistent in just a few spots where there appears to be more large fine aggregate and less pebbles. Also there were a couple spots where there were clumps of fiberglass fibers and no pebbles. I was able to lightly burn those off with a propane touch, again the sealer helped blend that area as well. Good crew over all

These workers came in and did an excellent job. They were very hard working. Very polite. Always met their schedule, in fact came and worked a week ahead of our scheduled time. Cleaned up after the job was completed. They broke up existing concrete and hauled everything away. I am very pleased at the way my yard now looks. I would recommend this company to anyone needing concrete work without hesitation.

We are thrilled with our new patio! They broke up concrete, ripped out our wooden deck and hauled everything away. It has transformed our whole backyard. They listened carefully to exactly what we wanted. The workers were very professional. We are impressed.

I had a parking pad extended from 16 ft to 21 ft and a walkway put in. they started the same day of the estimate. Rain caused them to delay the pouring of the cement or else they claimed they would have been done the same day. They only take cash or check so be prepared for that. Great group of guys even help me push my not running vehicle out of the way for them to do their work.

Prompt service, these guys are busy But they get you on the schedule.

They extended our patio in the backyard and got the job done in two days. If I had a question they were responsive. I have recommended them to other neighbors. Others should learn from this company when it comes to customer service. Thank you Island Concrete!

They were there when they said they would be. Worked until the job was completed. I got what I wanted as I wanted.

Venly bid my job same day of my request, and agreed to my budget for the work. He and his team arrived 2 days later per our agreement was certain they could finish the job in just one day. They arrived early in the morning and had the driveway expansion and curb completed in 1 day. The crew was very friendly, careful around my flower beds and when they left one would not know they were ever there; leaving the site as clean as when they arrived.

Did a great job from start to finish!! End product was fantastic!! Would definitely recommend to others! Neighbor saw his work and has now hired them.

Venly bid my job within 24 hours of my request. He and his team had an opening the next day and he was certain they could finish the job in just one day. The next day they arrived promptly, were friendly, carefully of my property, and finished the whole job and cleanup by 3:30. Venly was able to create the exact concrete finish I wanted! Fabulous!

PROS: Venly came out the same day I contacted him and was able to give me a quote for my new backyard patio idea. 2 days later his team was installing the new concrete patio. We were even able to add on a concrete pathway that led from my patio to my garage door on the back side of my house. All of the concrete was poured, textured and colored on the first day. They work hard and are very fast at the demo of existing concrete and grass. They did a good job with removing the old materials and packing up all of their gear once the concrete was poured. CONS: Pouring concrete in the beginning of spring proved a bit challenging however since the weather never wanted to cooperate. It took a while for his team to come back out and seal the concrete due to the rainy weather. They put on a thick layer of the sealant and didn't do the best job making sure it was spread out evenly and I had a few puddle spots where the sealant pooled up. Also, there are a few foot print marks on my concrete that must have been imprinted on the concrete as they were laying down the stamped concrete patterns and walking on them. They are not super noticeable but they are there in places. Lastly the pattern they added to the concrete was a slate type pattern, in certain areas it looks really good and was worth the money, in other spots it doesn't look quite as nice, but still looks decent. Conclusion: If you want a job done quickly and at a decent price, Island concrete will be able to get you what you need.

I was recommended to Island concrete and I got 4 bids. All bids were competitive with each other but Velnly assured me he would be the best value. They scheduled 2 weeks out, showed up and did everything very professionally, and saw how it was going to look with them pulling out a large boxwood and fern with overgrown ivy. The job turned out perfect and the sealer was the kicker to make it look great.

I hired Venly based on good reviews I read. Had about 1200 sq ft of area that needed to be graded with retaining wall in order to poor a concrete driveway. Venly bid it $16500 initially. I had other bids for less and a bid from his brother (figured this out when he was giving me bid) Nelson Construction which was $8000. He decided to match his brothers bid and started the job. He shortcut the work, damaged my existing driveway, pavers, and house posts. Did not install all the proper drainage as needed per the scope of the job. When pointed these concerns out. His response was to charge me more money to do the job right with no shortcuts. I emphasized that I needed good drainage from the beginning and did not change the scope of the job. He took the job at one price and tried to get more money to complete the job correctly after we already signed and agreed to a contract. This is bad business to take on a job, then cut corners and short cut the work because he felt he underbid the job. He never communicated that the quality of work will be impacted based on the price we agreed on. Poor communication and unethical business tactics.

Venly from Island Concrete did an awesome job building me a 6" thick 32"x12.5" concrete slab for my RV to park on top of. His pricing was competitive, he was always on time and very responsive when I texted him. Also very flexible when I needed to make some changes to the original plan. I highly recommend these guys!

Island Concrete contacted me immediately when I listed the job. Venly and his crew arrived on time, performed the work as laid out, accommodated our preferences, and did a fine job. I was present to answer any questions, and provide any support. I would hire again.

The quality of work was good and as far as communication it was good also. Read your contract before they do the work.

Conclusion: Has the right tools, Fast, Negotiable Got quotes and talked with 3 different contractors. First was cheap and sketchy, Second had good reviews and had good pricing, Third was Island Concrete. (Will be honest he was the most expensive but also was able to Negotiate and I don't think the others would have done as good of a job.) Island Concrete was the only contractor that mentioned the potential issues that the other contractors didn't bring up and suggested things differently as he saw that my idea wasn't going to look to good. He was right. Final result looks good and was done right. I have a security camera that I watched to see if they skipped any steps. Just want to bring up some more important things about Island Concrete. 1) I hired them same day they came out to do the quote. He was able to bring his professional tools on site that night and ripped the entire driveway out. The concrete was pored and finished the next day. 2) When the Concrete truck was coming in I knocked out one of the overhead power lines to my house. I was away from home. When I got home he got it it was already fixed but I noticed it was replaced. Neighbors told me what happened and that he had PSE come out and fix it properly and waited to make sure nothing went wrong. I obviously didn't have to pay for this but I just wanted to bring up how everything was taken care of before I gotten home professionally and he didn't even bring up asking for money to fix it like I know some shady contractors I have worked with would. 3) They cleaned up nicely didn't leave any mess. After the job was done I noticed some touch-up stuff and they came the next day and solved my issues. 4) Was able to negotiate and wanted to make sure I was happy with the work. <-- Most important.
