Hired Scott Herrera through word of mouth to finish my basement storage room with insulation, drywall, texturing, painting and wood trim. Overall, no one died, the job got done and my divorce has not gone through yet.Right off the bat, I found that there was overpromise and underproduce. Lots of promises at the begining which began to fizzle out more and more during the work. The dates of service were haphazard and many times there would just be a knock at my door without any phonecall about unannounced visits to do work. I guess this would be acceptable if you had someone staying at home at all times but the lack of professionalism and communication quickly wore on me. There were too many little things that occurred which in and of themselves mean nothing but taken together as a whole, it displayed inattention to detail. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was the botched date for carpet install. I had asked for the carpet to be installed as soon as the wood trim was done around the room. I was given a date and when that date came, no one showed up. I called The Linoleum Shop, Inc and found that it was set up for the following week and that the contractor had totally botched the dates up. This would probably not have made me upset if my wife and I did not have jobs, but I had to change both our schedules and childcare around the prior week just so I could be home for the carpet install and now I find out it was for the wrong week. I asked The Linoleum Shop, Inc if they had any openings for installation that same week and they were all booked up. Erin Condon, their sales rep, called me about an hour later and stated that she had somehow arranged for an install the following day. Had I not called The Linoelum Shop, Inc myself on the day the carpet did not arrive, it would have turned out very very bad. This actually cost me another day of work because I had to be home now the following day for carpet install. Suffice it to say, the job was done, nobody died, the balance was paid in full but I will not be using this contractor again.
