Unfortunately, my experience with Coffey Construction was less than satisfactory. Apparently he sent crews on-site that had no idea how to read architectural plans. The plans called for balloon framing, they did not do it and were called out on it by county inspectors. After at least 2 months of haggling with him and several stop-gap efforts, it was fixed. Other things that were missed were cutting the "bird's mouth" into the roof trusses. End result was extra expenses to add about 2 dozen expensive Simpson brackets. Finally, as I am getting ready to install the interior doors, I now learn that his crew had no idea that doors needed to be "roughed in" at around 82", not at 80". Now I have to go back with a sawzall and hope that the doorways won't collapse when I cut out one of the 2x4s that were used as a header. Coffey Construction's poor workmanship is the gift that keeps on giving.

Matt wasn't on site to supervise subcontractors; thus, work was sporadic and often unsatisfactory. The work site was unorganized, unsafe, and unkempt. His record-keeping was a disaster. In some cases, subcontractors were not paid; however, he appeared to compensate himself. He appeared more sympathetic and supportive of his subcontractors than his client. Subcontractors, unable to reach him or finding him absent from the work site, eventually communicated with us. From our experience, he is unprofessional and incompetent.

Very precise and creative with challenging remodeling/additions
