DEPENDABLE APPLIANCE SVC

Description of Work: I called this man to assist with washing machine issues of an urgent nature on a holiday weekend, and also used him again for a dishwasher issue. Everything went well, for the most part, but we did have some issues with the h/c water lines being transposed and re-hooked up backwards. His availability was understandable considering weekend and holidays, but I didn't get the overly clear sense of customer service. It was just a blasé attitude. He did repair the problems and basically give us advice on buying a new dishwasher, which we have never done yet. We are still using the old one currently.

Description of Work: I called this company, along with a few others, on New Years' Day. Had to leave messages of course, as all businesses were closed for the holiday. John returned my call the next morning, first thing. He was able to come out at 1 p.m. that day, to assess problem. He quoted a price, $168 for part and then the tax, call fee, and labor charge on top of that, which he estimated to include the day of actual repair (after the part came in). It is now almost a week later, and he is scheduled to come back today. Not happy about how long we had to wait without a washing machine, but a large part of that is the timing of the holiday and the weekend (which he is not open). I had hoped he would return first thing Monday, but he did not come or call yesterday ( I had to call twice to request an understanding of when he was coming back). It is entirely possible that I was being impatient, cuz not having a washer causes major inconvenience and the thing just happened to break down right as I was doing the laundry that had built up for a week or more, so we are now very much needing that appliance. I have not had to go to the laundromat, but am darn close to that! Anyway, John is very nice and knowledgable, I just wish that this whole thing had not cost us $300 right after Christmas (which we hadn't planned on and couldn't really afford) and that it would have been repaired more expediently than one full week of waiting. To me, $300 for a repair that took one week to conclude, seems to suggest I may have been able to find a better vendor somewhere else, but then again, perhaps not. Like I said, there were extenuating circumstances of timing and stuff.

Description of Work: My Maytag Neptune washer would not perform the final spin which left the clothes too wet to dry and water remained in the barrel.
