GFM Remodeling

The work was done in two sessions, with the shower first and the tub replacement second. Each took two days to complete from start to finish. In both cases the components were shipped directly from the factory and delivered one day prior to the installation date. Frank and George Maestas, the owners, did the work themselves, using the basement garage as their workshop. Since both bathrooms are on the second floow, this involved a great many trips up and down stairs, often with large and heavy components. They did all this with seeming ease and no complaints whatsoever. We would judge the amount of effort required to be above average. Removal of the original tubs and tiling went smoothly, and the assembly and installation of the components went equally well. Both had clearly had a great deal of experience, and nothing posed a problem that they couldn't solve. They had the tools, parts and skill to do the job right, right fom the start. We were consulted at every stage where our input would help, especially the positions of the hand holds (grab bars) so that we got them exactly where we wanted them. They cleaned as they went, and left no debris whatsoever. The garage looked better when they finished than when they started. The work on the two bathrooms was superb, fully equivalent to what you would find in the finest New York or London hotels, if not better as everything was done to ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards. As we're an older couple, this was very important, and GFM was the only contractor we found who was capable of this caliber of work. It would certainly be possible to have the same remodeling done for less, but this was most definitely a case of getting what you pay for. We wanted the bathrooms to last for as long as we can remain in our house, and we didn't want to worry about them again. We could not be more pleased or satisfied, and would not hesitate to recomment GFM to anyone looking for the highest quality.
