Scheduling was easy and technician arrived at scheduled time. Very friendly. Would use again.

Our gas fireplace had been having issues--the gas log wouldn't light consistantly and the fan was extremely loud. I contacted NW Gas Fireplace mentioning the issues we were having and asking about cost and availability. Bonnie responded quickly letting me know that probably our fireplace probably just needed a maintenance and cleaning and the cost. We set the appointnment, about a week and a half after--I named the date based on my availability. Chris the tech arrived right on time, which was refreshing. I can't begin to tell you how many contractors of all different types of trades over the years have arrived late, so I was so impressed that this wasn't the case with NW Gas Fireplace. He quickly determined our issues--yes the fireplace needed a cleaning, desperately--and the fan was noisy because when it was installed the installer had put it in backwards. The backwards fan meant that when turned on it was blowing cold air. Also because of the error installation, the motor for the fan had been damaged and we needed a new one. He was able to give us three options for new fans all of which he had with him. He replaced the fan and was out the door quickly and efficiently. As a side note, we had just brought home a new puppy just a few days before our appointment with NW Gas Fireplace. Chris was unflappable when our puppy began to whine and cry at being unhappy about being put in her pen. We are very happy with their service. I didn't rate pricing above only because we didn't actually get estimates from other providers so we don't know if what we paid was within "market" pricing for the work. The cost for the work seemed reasonable to us though.

I had to wait about three weeks for an appointment, but it was well worth the wait. I half expected NW Gas fireplace to forget about my appointment since it was made three weeks prior. However, on the day of the appointment, I got a call from their office saying the technician was running ahead of schedule and asked if it was ok for him to come early. I appreciated being asked, not told. Chris, the technician arrived early, was polite, professional and courteous. The fireplace had a simple fix, Chris explained the problem and corrected the issue. Chris then cleaned the fireplace, replaced the "embers" and respray painted the inside of the fireplace. Chris went above and beyond for a price that was well below what I was expecting. This was my first time working with this company, it was a good experience, and the job was an easy fix. The remote control on our gas fireplace was not working, so -horror of horrors- we had to actually get up and go over to the fireplace to turn it on and off;-) When I called to ask for service, I explained the issue and the gal explained that their service appointments were running about 2 weeks out...yikes! Well, it's the beginning of the heating season, and it was not anywhere near an emergency, so I set up an appointment. Chris showed up 5-10 minutes early, and was very professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem-said the receiver on the remote had gone bad- and he went to see if he had a new one in his van. He did (yay). He installed that, I paid him and the remote now works like a charm. I thought about giving a B for price because $89.00 for a half hour service call...ouch. But I decided against it because I know 1/2 hour on my end doesn't take into consideration any of their operating costs.

Chris arrived right no time, was super friendly and courteous, and very reasonably priced. The fireplace did not work properly when he arrived but was working great when he left. Don't know what more one could ask for. I'm very pleased with the service he provided and would recommend him again wholeheartedly. Bob

Chris Winchell is a great guy and did a FABULOUS job in replacing my Propane Gas logs and setting it up so that I can use a remote control instead of having to get down on my hands & knees to light the fireplace. Chris showed up on the initial visit to look at the job and to give me an estimate. He assured me that my old logs could be used but they were quite old and I wanted a different look so I made the decision to purchase new ones. When Christ came back to install the logs, he came in the home and immediately took off his shoes. He was very careful to cover the carpet and brick area to make sure to not get ashes or soot on them for the removal & install. The job was done fairly quickly and without any problems. Once everything was done Chris took the time to show me how to work the remote and to make sure I knew exactly what needed to be done when I wanted to have a fire. I can't tell you how pleased I am and how professional Chris is to work with. I plan on recommending him and his company to any of my friends that need any fireplace work. BTW.. Bonnie, Chris' wife who answers all the calls and emails is really great to work with too! All in all it was a very pleasant experience. Thanks Chris & Bonnie!!!

Previously, NW Fireplace had performed service on our gas fireplace because our tenant said it was not working; they fixed it in July. Our new tenant complained about a whining sound when she operated the fireplace. I called NW Fireplace Service again, and they promptly inspected the fireplace and identified the problem. They did not charge me for the return visit. Bonnie was pleasant to work with, and remembered the first service call. She reported back to me afterward what the problem and solution was.

The overall experience was very positive. Chris did an excellent job of describing what the probelm was and how he was fixing it. I had done some troubleshooting on the fireplace but my efforts did not last long. After he had fixed the issues I was having, he throughly cleaned and checked the rest of the fireplace to make sure all systems were within normal operating specs. The service lasted about an hour and I feel I got my money's worth. Also, when I first contacted his company and left a message, he returned my call with 2-3 hours and set up an appointment within 3 days. I consider his work and professionalism first rate.

This is the second time we've used NW Gas Fireplaces. Chris is a true professional - very polite and knowledgeable. He arrived right on time. He was very clean, removed shoes, kept fireplace areas very clean while he worked and left the areas in pristine condition. He kept us informed of issues. He found that two fireplaces had leaks and quickly fixed them. He not only provides maintenance on fireplaces but also installs them. If we ever have a need to replace a fireplace, Chris would be the one we will call.

His name is Chris Winchell and he is a certified service technician. The last time he was here he told me that everything was so good that I probably wouldn't need him to come back for two years. There are not very many people that will do that. He was very courteous and on time. He was very professional and didn't leave a mess.
