Jeff Delbridge, the Broker at MountainView Properties NW, began the contract in a professional manner but within a month he became condescending in our conversations. By the end of the second month he was difficult to get in touch with via phone and e-mail and he stopped answering requests for status updates on the listing. I made a good-faith attempt to talk with Jeff Delbridge about my expectations (professional communication and regular status updates) and understand if any of them were out of line, but he failed to make himself available for a pre-arranged phone consultation. When he finally did answer his phone, he admittedly insulted me by saying I must be handled with "kid gloves," but did agree to provide listing updates, showing feedback and his marketing plan for the home. By the end of the third month, nothing significant had changed. Communication broke down when he again refused to answer those earlier requests and some new questions regarding his advice to lower the price on our listing. In addition to calling me names, he called my persistent requests for answers "disrespectful, abusive and harrassing." When I requested an early termination to the contract, based on customer dissatisfaction, Jeff Delbridge threatened to sue me for slander and I retained the services of an attorney. After 4 weeks of requests (then 4 months into the 6-month contract) my attorney finally received Jeff Delbridge's early termination conditions: he wanted $239 for out-of-pocket expenses, an additional $299 for photographic services he provided no invoice for, and asked for an additional $1210 dollars for unaccounted "time," none of which was provided for in the listing contract. Based on my attorney's advice we made an offer to cover his actual expenses to end the contract immediately, or requested that he increase the listing price on the home. It's been 6 weeks since that offer (more than 5 months into the contract) and neither me nor my attorney has had any communication from Jeff Delbridge. Neither has he modified the listing for the price increase. I'm left to wait and wonder until the contract expires. I am unable to engage the services of a trustworthy Realtor because Jeff Delbridge is "sitting on" the listing and will not respond. I have had no communication from Jeff Delbridge regarding the house for over 10 weeks: no marketing plan, no showing status updates, no feedback from any visitors, and no communication about the time I came home to find my home (and Realtor's lock box) intentionally left unlocked by a Realtor. Since Real Estate is a professional service industry, I encourage anyone who is looking for a listing or buying agent in the Vancouver Metro area to please avoid MountianView Properties NW and especailly its broker, Jeff Delbridge who has provided very poor customer service.
