A couple of days ago, TW called me and said no water pressure from faucets etc. Called Hall and Son later in the night, left message. Followed up again in the morning with another phone call, got an appointment for noon. Got a call from Dan shortly after, saying he will be there earlier. Upon arrival he did his thing, found electrical panel for well pump at fault. He had a replacement part, and it fixed it. Our house was built in 1995, and I have been here for over 13 years. So I suspected it would be the well pump. Good news to hear that it only costed me a visit fee of $85 and $85 for the part. Dan not only put me as a high priority cause we had no running water, he saved me what could of been a several thousand dollar unnecessary repair. Forgot to mention, not only were on Angie's list, they also had one of their company placards on my well pump tank, and they were ones that actually installed this well system over 20 years ago. All the parts that made up our well system is of high quality, and so was the replacement part they just installed. Hall and Son will be the first number to call if and when the need arises

Both services went extremely well. Cost for 1) $80, for 2) $1541. Response to my call was immediate. They understand the urgency when you do not have water.
Description of Work: Two visits 1) to repair break in PVC between well and reservoir, 2) to pull up pipes to 465 foot well to clear gravel and clay that was blocking intake during a dry year.

I came uponj my driveway as a tons of water came flowing down toward the road. I was not aware that anyone was there. I just happened upon a man who was by the pipe as several hundred gallons of water flowed down the drive. I knew someone was going to check the water flow for the prospective buyer, and as I came upon him I question why didn't he put the water on my brown lawn this hot summer day. I can't remember his response...but it wasn't planned or something. So all there was was a meter hooked to the valve in the pumphouse, some pvc pipe and that was about it, and tons of water down the drain. There was also a bill of $506.19. $36.19 of that was for "Unincorporated" Whatever that is. I must admit I dragged my feet in paying because I thought it was outrageous....but I did finally pay the the bill.
Description of Work: They were hire by the realtor for the buyer to check the flow of water by hooking a meter to the well to see if the amount of flow met the standards. Now that well had been recently redone with a new pump and water tank by Mather Pump Co. and had been working just fine.

While working in our garage, my husband noticed that the pump on our well was turning off and on very frequently and very little water was being drawn into the holding tank. Since the business office was just five miles away, my husband went there and talked to one of the service people. He listened very patiently and then described what the problem was. He was at our house within an hour and very quickly fixed the problem. He explained what he was doing to my husband every step of the way, which he appreciated. Our pump has been working perfectly ever since the service call.

They charged $82 per visit, which was very reasonable. We needed to prime the pump once the plumbing was fixed and they sent someone right away that day to prime the pump so that I would have water and it was really nice of them. They helped me out immediately. They were fast and provided friendly service. They were very efficient and courteous. They are hard to get a hold of, but once you do, they are very quick.

I did a water test on the well and it came back positive with coliform bacteria. I tried killing it myself. Once with a gallon of bleach and 2 more times with way more more bleach... The well is over 250 feet deep. I got to thinking that the only way to kill this is fill the well up with bleach. Wow, do the math that's alot of bleach and water. Called Hall and Son and they gave me a couple of options. What I love about this place, they will teach you what you need to do or if you are not a hands on person they will do it all for you. They are very relaxed group of folks and this at some points does not come across very well. Thus you might be asking yourself .. do they know what they are talking about?? The answer is oh h*** yes they do.. They are SO NOT an auto repair guy that will want to replace everything to fix one issue but they will fix what needs fixing.

My 83 yr old mother was concerned with the water pressue and quality of water in her rural well system. Found this company on Angies list, mom called them, they came out that day. They inspected the entire system, found a wire that had come lose and fixed it. Spent quite a long time explaining to mom her system was in good shape and nothing to worry about once the wire was reconnected. I am grateful for their patience, kindness and knowledge they shared with mom. What an awesome experience and honorable company, thank-you !!! This experince alone makes Angies List worthwhile

We were having problems getting the pump working in order to perform the test. We called and told Hall and Son about our situation, and they offered to help us get the pump started again. When we offered to compensate them for that additional help, they said it would not be necessary unless they needed to purchase parts, in which case we would need to reimburse them. It was a simple fix for them. They performed a two hour flow test. The technician thought the flow was reading low on the meter, so he took the meter back to the shop to test it. He determined that it was not operating property, so he returned to the property again the following day with a properly functioning meter to perform another test. They did not charge us for the second trip. They were prompt in sending the water flow and bacteria test results, both of which were required for our loan. We were very pleased with the and quot;small town, locally ownedand quot; company feel of Hall and Son. The technician's demeanor instantly made me feel that I could trust the company, and they had excellent customer service. We will continue to use them for any upcoming well related needs.
Description of Work: Hall and Sons did a pre-purchase well inspection for us. That test consisted of a water flow test and a bacteria test.

My wife found water spraying out of the pressure tank in the garage as she was leaving early in the morning for a swim session. I placed a call to Hall and Sons and left a message at 05:30 in the morning explaining the situation and requested a call back once they opened for business that day. Dick called back around 9:00 AM and said they had the right size tank in stock and that they would be out to take care of it as soon as possible. The tank was replaced and we had water back in the house by 2:00 PM that afternoon. Incredible !! Hall and Sons did the original installation of the well and pressure tank when the house was built some 25 years previous as well as replacing the tank with a larger size three years after that. Somehow they remembered the job and the house. I was surprised that they didn't even expect payment on the day of service - I was to be billed via the mail. Again, service first and payment on a handshake. In the age of Big Box stores and impersonal service this was a great experience of a local company taking care of their customer. I would recommend this company without reservations to anyone in need of their services. They are fast, courteous, professional, and fairly priced.
Description of Work: An emergency call at 05:30 AM resulted in a service visit later that morning to replace a pressure tank that failed resulting in water spraying across the garage floor.

We contacted this company the day before the service was done; explained the problem with our well, and they assured us someone would be out the next day.. Friday morning we were told they would be out in the afternoon. They did run a bit late as they said had a complicated job before us, but they did notify us in advance it would be a couple hours later that day. When they arrived; they found the problem with our well/pump/water tank was just a floatation valve issue and they were able to fix it immediately. The cost was much less than we expected.

Our experience was very good. Someone was out the day we called to determine what was wrong. The crane came out a couple hours later and the pump was fixed. We were without for less than 24 hours. When my husband and I went to the office to pay the bill the man recognized my husband, he actually knew our names. If we could find a doctor that could that, wed be set.

I was amazed at how repaid they were in responding. Having some common repair parts on hand allowed for a very quick repair. They were pleasant to work with and very professional.

We discovered water leaking under the pressure tank in the garage. On the pressure tank was a sticker from Hall and Son Pump Co and we remembered they came and did a good job replace a tank where the bladder was not working. So I figured they could come out again and help us once more. I called them about 8:30 AM. I told them about the leak and was asked if it was a bad leak. I said it was a slow one but had produced a fairly large area of water puddling on the floor of the garage. (We had to move things out of the area of the leaking.) He told me at the time that they could come out. I asked if I had enough time to do a load of wash before they came and he said and quot;yeah, we won't be out until around noon.and quot; So I waited. And waited. And waited. I finally called at 4:35 PM and was told by the person on the phone that they would not have told me that they could come out. He sounded annoyed. I asked if that meant they were on the way and he said that: no, we can't come out today. So I asked if they could come the next day and was told they would call me the next morning between 8:30 and 9:00 AM to let me know their schedule. I got the call in the morning and was greeted by a man who said he was Steve Hall. The first thing he said was and quot;We would have never said we would come out.and quot; Basically calling me a liar. He then said they were too busy and I should just get a plumber to help me out. I am only writing this review because I felt that they need to know that their customer service stinks! How much nicer it would have been, if after the first mistake was done, to be told this: and quot;Oh, we are very sorry. We should have realized we are so busy. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Maybe you could call a plumber to help you.and quot; Please, please don't give a time if you can't make it. My husband is in the hospital and I stayed home a day and a half to get the leak repaired when it could have just been a half day.

After 10 years in a suburban, new construction home, my family recently moved to a rural area. Our new (to us) house is serviced by a well, and also has a pump house which houses the pressure tank. The previous owners didn't leave any information about the history or care the system and I didn't have the first clue about what I did or didn't need to do to take care of it. So I called Hall and Son, and asked for a service call to look everything over for me. Unfortunately I have completely forgotton the gentleman's name who came out, but he was fantastic. He walked me thorough all the equipment, and most importantly let me know how to best protect it in case of freezing weather. He didn't even charge me for his time. I will definately use Hall and Son again in the future.

Well pump had failed. Had one company come out and look and they also wanted to replace the pressure tank. Hall and Sons came out, looked it over, tested the tank and let me know that it would be "ok" for a while yet. Sure enough, it kept doing its job just fine, allowing me to recover from the cost of the new pump and then later replace the pressure tank. They did a great job.

Given that we were without water, their rapid response was superb! All were prompt, professional, and seemed very competent. The new tank is noticeably better.
Description of Work: Our pressure tank failed - no water! Hall was able to get to us the same day and fixed the tank. However, the tank was very old, had been having problems for a while, and would keep having them, so it needed replacing. Hall's crew was able to do that the next day.
