I have worked with Lenny Culp for a few remodeling projects to replace carpet/floorings. Lenny is very professional and friendly to work with. Lenny's team provided excellent service and workmanship, and has always been able to deliver on schedule. Lenny's pricings are very reasonable for the quality of product and work you get. Lenny has helped me complete my projects by being very accommodative to my frequent changes on install dates.

I decided I wanted to take out our old flooring downstairs which was a combination of pre-finished hardwood and carpet. I called TCB and was put in touch with Greg who came out and measured and discussed what we'd like to replace the current floor with. Greg was really patient while I took my time researching and finding the product I wanted to use. He brought a ton of samples but in the end I found the product at a showroom and Greg got pricing for me. The job was done over several days and they were very good about letting me know what was going to happen and when. When the job was finished it looked great! We had no issues with the installers (Greg and Alex) and I was really happy with the end result. They were nice and professional and left the house in good order with no damage. I was worried because we had to replace our baseboards and I was hoping they would be installed well. They were and they look great! In fact, I'm so happy with their work that I'm hiring them to replace the carpet in the upstairs as well. I'd highly recommend TCB and Greg as your installer!

I was very unhappy with this company. Mr. Culp steered me in the direction of a carpet that did not fit the description of what I wanted. He claimed they don't make low pile carpet anymore and suggested I'd like the stuff anyway because it "wasn't too high." Once installed I found it was a LOT higher pile than I had expected judging from the sample I had been given. He called afterwards to find out if I was happy with the job and when I explained that I was not happy, that the pile was too high, he responds by saying it's my own fault for not inspecting the rug before it went in. He added cheerfully that it was all okay because I would get used to it. THEN he dunns me every day for the payment of the final balance. A week to the day after the carpet was installed as I'm walking to my car he shows up inside my gated community waving legal papers at me, threatening me with a lien if I don't pay up immediately, saying I didn't get back to him. I told him I did email him and he responds by saying he doesn't have an email address despite the fact we had been emailing each other for quite a while. Very odd behavior.

First off, I myself was a former flooring installer and I know how the work is performed. I changed careers 5 years ago and now was looking to have my entire home re-done. I know the prices of flooring and installation and wasn't going to pay 10,000 for my home to be re-carpeted. They were fantastic. I shopped at several large box stores and they beat the price by several hundred dollars. They arrived when the said they would and they installed the entire job in a day. They moved all the furniture with care and they left my home cleaner than when the arrived. I would highly recommend these guys. Like I said I know industry and if you are looking to save money and have the work still performed by a professional this is the company!

Lenny is punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable about what he does. We were offer a very good carpet at a great price. The installers also did a fine job. All work was done in one day, I did go back to check during the day because I had someone else come to work as well, but at the end of day, new carpets everywhere! They also cleaned up their mess and hauled away the old carpet. My only minor complaint would be that cleanup could have been done better; I still see some loose carpet fibers around corners of the house. But that's not a big deal, I just vacuumed the house again normally and everything was good.
Description of Work: Lenny came to the house and showed me different options of carpets and different color choices. After we finally made a decision after his 2 visits, we scheduled for an install. It was all installed in one day.

We got a good grade of carpet for a reasonable price, but the install experience was seriously flawed; Issue 1: We had a serious floor squeak in the upstairs hallway. I called it out specially to Lenny when he was estimating the job and he included charges for replacing a section of the subfloor. When the installer came and removed the old carpet he refused to address the squeak in any way since he claimed not to be licensed to work on subfloors. Lenny didn't charge me, but the squeak remained. Issue 2: I was in the process of tiling the master bath when Lenny did the walkthrough for the estimate. Since I'd installed heating wires in the underlayment beneath the tile there was to be a 7/8" difference between the subfloor and the top of the finished tile. Lenny claimed this was excessive and suggested the only solution was for me to hang some tile bullnose out over the tack strip so he could tuck the carpet beneath it. No reasonable tile setter would lay unsupported tile -- it would be sure to break at some point. It would have also still resulted in a noticeable difference in carpet to tile heights. I did some research on my own and found carpet shims that are specifically made to deal with this situation. Lenny had never heard of them and recommended against using them and was unwilling to get them for my job. I had to purchase them and install them myself to get a nice transition between the carpet and tile. I've since learned that any reasonable carpet installer should do this sort of thing routinely. Issue 3: The carpet on some of the stair treads was cut too narrow. Somehow the nap of the carpet concealed this at the time of the walkthrough, but a few days of use later there was a noticeable gap between the carpet and the stair cove.
Description of Work: Removed old pad, tack strips and carpet in roughtly 1500 sq ft and installed new pad, tack strips and carpet, including a stairway.

Response from TCB CARPETS INC
I'm sure you had a bad experience with our company. This is not typical. I'm glad that you feel you got a quality product for a fair price. Unfortunately I've been the subfloor repair with the carpet blocking my view and did not know that the wall was built over the panel that need replacement. This negated the ability of my flooring subcontractor to do structure work. This was discussed with you before we proceeded . We have a successful ramp shim solution but we can only go so high before we create a trampoline effect behind the carpet. At the time one of my installers Jason had informed me that he had resolved your problem to your specifications. We're sorry to hear that apparently a year and a half later that is not the case. We welcome any opportunity to resolve the situation

I would highly recommend them. They were very competitive with the price and the installation was great and they did actually come out. There was a slight problem actually it was much later it was a couple of years later something that came up and they came right up and fixed it.

There were some issues with it luckily it was insurance covered most of it. Some water damage. They didn't fix it right the first time so they had to come back. It wasn't the carpet people it was the insurance people had done some flaw. They seemed pretty competitive and they did a good job. They were in and out like they said. I didn't have any problems with them.
Description of Work: They just put some carpets in the place that we had.

There are few companies that I will never work with. Lenny (aka TCB Carpets) is one of those in that category. I contracted him via LOWE's (a company I LOVE). After a number of scheduling issues with LOWES (not Lenny's fault), he arrived on time at my home to do the estimate. Unfortunately, I happened to be on the phone and could not get off. While he was going through, I took a moment here and there to mute myself to answer questions for him, explaining that I would be doing a significant amount of removal and cleanup before he started the work. I had a bunch of icky dog/cat stuff in my backroom that I had not cleaned out yet. He made his measurements and I asked him to wait for 5 minutes so I could wrap up. He became VERY RUDE and indignant that I would ask him to wait. I terminated my business call and attended to him. He then tried to sell me on a TON of "required items" that raised is fee significantly that I said I would take care of (like filling in a few missing tiles with cement - something that I didn't want done. It was just a ploy to jack up his price. He then walked out of the house saying "I don't need this SH*T". Obviously, if you don't go his way and he can't bully you, he responds by attacking you. I later got PRO HOME SERVICES to do the work and was VERY SATISFIED. Use them in the future. They get all my work now. They came in, took care of all the little "extra items" at no charge. Lenny and his company find every little thing they can to nickel and dime you. DON'T let the Lynnwood LOWES Store schedule these guys for you - you will get ripped off. I have a lot of local construction friends. They ALL say the same thing. The owner is arrogant and tries to rip you off. Lots of folks used to work for him that no longer do because he is rude and unethical. There are too many other great companies that will do your work for you cheaper and more comfortably.

We had a carpet installer not show up on us and we desperately wanted to get carpet installed. We called TCB Carpets and they came out the next day and installed the carpet. They did a fabulous job! And, completed the job in one day. It was so nice that they were willing to work within such a tight time frame. We couldn't be happier with the job they did - very well done! On a side note, I don't like having strangers in our house. But, the installers made me feel comfortable and worked hard. Very professional.

TCB carpets gave me an estimate of the job over the phone for the job (three bedrooms, one hallway, and one study) that needed to be stretched. The two guys who came (Kenneth was the lead person) did an amazing job. My carpet, which is now 6 years old, looks like new. The workmanship of the stretch and the re-seam in one area was excellent.
Description of Work: The original installation of my carpet was terrible because the original company that installed it did not do the required power stretch for a carpet of this weight. The carpet looked fine for about 3 years, but then buckles started to appear in almost every room. I originally called another company to fix the worst buckle, but the tuck in was done so poorly, I didn't call them again.
