I thought they really did a good job. It took longer than anticipated but I think that is normal with all contracting work and of course there were some unexpected things that happened which again is typical with contracting work. They were really good about with listening to me. They really did a good job and it?s finally done and I finally have my privacy again. I signed my contract in November last year and it took three months, which is not their fault, for the county to approve my project. So they did not end up starting until the end of February and they finished last week. It took longer than normal from what they said it would take but it's solid construction. I can't rate the price because we never had a second bid. We just saw their work and we liked it and we went for it. The quality of their work is definitely excellent.
Description of Work: We had a sun room built by a company called Sun Spaces.

Description of Work: We went with Sunspaces for a Sunroom extension. They quoted a reasonable price for a job that included a demolition of an old existing sunroom. Keith and his two sons came up with designs that matched the themes and finishes of our existing house, including a shake roof and matching grille styles. The project took a couple of months longer than we expected largely due to the permitting process and that were slightly off-sized from what was ordered. We are happy with the end result and enjoyed working with Keith,Aaron and Beau

Description of Work: We had a leak in our sunroom. Aaron was out to fix it within a day. They are the best company to build and service sunrooms. This is my 3rd time working with them and I would have them back in a heartbeat. They are family owned and highly professional and passionate about their business.

They were very good. I've known them for years. They did my sun room originally and have done some small stuff. They're really, really easy to work with. Basically, I supplied most of the cabinets and stuff and they installed it and took out a wall and fixed the window and moved the door. They were really good. It was a lot of money - close to $60,000 including the stuff I purchased, but I'm happy with the kitchen. One the things they did broke and they came out and fixed it right away. I like them. I have no basis of comparison for the prices. I just trusted them. I didn't get bids for the kitchen or anything because Keith Sitzmann and I go back a long way. He gave me a basic price. He was real reasonable about the extras. I'm a former construction lawyer. So I know all about things like extras. We worked well together on knowing what was and wasn't an extra. The kitchen was mostly designed by me. They were really good about adjusting to the various thoughts I had and stuff like that. They had good suggestions. They also moved a bathroom. They came up with a billion solution to the fact that it's very, very small in terms of basically bump out so that there is a place for the sink. Overall, I'm very happy with them. It was a lot of work.
Description of Work: I had used them years ago. I used them again. They remodeled my kitchen. It included things like moving the bathroom, tearing out the wall, putting in the window, changing the door out and then actually, the kitchen construction.

First of all, when Keith came out to take a look for the estimate, he is very knowledgeable on building sun rooms. The quote is reasonable. Scheduling was easy, and everything is on time except the waiting time for the windows which is out of their control. Aaron and his crew finished building the sun room on time. They took care of all the details of the gutter, integration to our existing patio structure and etc. They completed on time and almost care free for us! The best part is they take great care of their customers even after the sun room is finished. We had couple leaks through the sun room. Aaron came out quickly and identified it's our old roof issue. He fixed and we are very grateful because the leak wasn't caused by the sunroom. They are great to work with. We recommend them to all of our friends.

Overall, it went extremely well as I stated previously.
Description of Work: We wanted to add a small addition off the dining room in the back of the house. At first we were thinking of a conventional "sunroom", but after the first sit-down with Keith Sitzman, we realized that wasn't really what we were wanting at all. What we really wanted was a room addition with lots of windows and skylights. We wanted it to blend with the original homes design and not be conspicuous, like many conventional sunrooms are. Bottom line, after several sessions with Keith we were able to come up with a really good configuration that serves our needs perfectly while blending with our home such that it appears to have been part of the orginal design. Keiths many years of experience were invaluable and we could never have arrived at this design without him...and this was before we ever agreed to the project. In fact, Keith and I became friends and he ultimately volunteered to help paint the exterior of the addition...even though it was not part of the contracted workscope. How often can you say that about your Contractor?! Keiths two sons, Aaron & Beau, were the foreman on various phases of the job and were were very professional, pleasant to work with, and downright accommodating...a pleasure to work with. Toward the end of the project it seemed to drag on a bit, primarily because they were trying to mesh our completion with some other projects they were working. It was not really a problem, since we were trying to be completed in order to host a family Thanksgiving. We did, and everyone was very complimentary of the addition and how it had completely transformed our late 60's home. The only real issue that I can think of with the project was an exterior door that we had wanted to be full length glass but wasn't! The issue was finally resolved to our satisfaction, but not without several tries. I can say that the final product was more than satisfactory and well worth the effort and expense. We are enjoying the addition tremendously and I'm convinced we will benefit from every penny we spent in both home value and future marketing when we decide to sell one day. Couldn't be happier!!!

He did call back once so I will give him a D rating overall. He didn't respond and that is the whole problem. It was crazy because he had great reviews on Angie's List so I was like this is weird. He did make his appointment time. I didn't meet with the guy but my husband did but he didn't say anything about them not being professional. If we would have had a quote we would have had a quote to compare it to. I wouldn't use him because he wouldn't call us back.
Description of Work: We never got a follow up quote from Sun Spaces. We got a guy to get an estimate and he was supposed to give us a back an estimate but he never did. We had many follow up emails and calls but we were not getting it so obviously he doesn't want are money. We actually didn't get any quote so we couldn't get service. We are going with a different company. It was probably about a month ago and I sent a follow up email a couple of times saying hey, we haven't heard the quote yet. Apparently he got mixed up with another guys quote and was going to resend it to us but we never got it. We was like we need the owner but he was the owner. I just figured he didn't want to do something at our house obviously. He came out to get the estimate to do the sun room and he was supposed to give us a quote but never did. Through emails and calls I do know he called my husband and said he got us mixed up with someone else by mistake and he was going to send it. We said hey, we still don't have it so he is not good at follow up. As far as product I am not sure because we didn't get that far.

Very professional from star to finnish. I would recommend them, but get firm dates about when the work is to be done.
Description of Work: Sun Spaces completely re glazed my sunroom including overhead and side windows. they replaced dry rot beams and made everything wether tight. My only complaint is how slow they were to complete the job and I had to contact them to find out about delays.

They are really good to deal with. It's the second project for which I'm using them over the years. They did a great job both times. They are excellent.
Description of Work: I used Sun Spaces for windows.
I originally contacted Keith by phone and asked about licensing and insurance, since Angie's List looked as if that might be a problem. He explained that he had sold the business to his sons and that was why his old information showed up as "expired." I told him to bring along proof of insurance and licensing when he came to quote, and I would be happy. He came by a couple days later, late in March (and he remembered to bring the paperwork I had asked for, which gave him high points) and gave me an estimate for the job. Another company came in, looked at it, said they thought it would be about $10,000, and that was exactly the bid they later submitted: a flat $10,000. Talk about pulling a bid out of your nether parts... A third bid, to which more care and attention was given, came out somewhere between the two. About the time I was finalizing my decision, I got an email from Keith saying they were offering another five percent off all existing bids, as long as a decision was made by 4/15, in order to keep their workers busy. They would have had my business anyway, but that was great. Since I had good Angie's List reviews on all three contractors, I felt confident in accepting this lowest bid. Keith asked me when I wanted to start, and I said I was open to what worked in their schedule but would like the work completed by the end of April. A couple of days later, I got a call asking if a 4/12 start would work, which it did. Keith's son Beau was the job site foreman and his brother was with him for the heavier parts of the job, as were a couple other workers for briefer times. The work was entirely completed by noon on 4/15...it might have been done by the previous afternoon but their Trex order had been shorted by four boards, so they needed to get more. The work done is exactly what I wanted. Since we are having the whole interior of the house painted in a couple of months, we did not have them paint the new wallboard and window trim they put in, but it is ready to paint and looks great. The outlets and faucet are just what I had envisioned, and the floor is perfect. The workers were very respectful of our home and a pleasure to have around. There were no "surprise" extra costs or problems of any kind. They cleaned up and hauled away their mess every work day, and left the room in "ready to use" shape. If all the contractors I have dealt with were as good, home ownership would be an unqualified pleasure!
Description of Work: I needed the very large hot tub removed from my existing sun room. It was mounted on raised steps faced in field stone, which needed to come out as well. The framing and windows/sliding doors in the room were fine as they were. I wanted the existing painted wood floor taken out (it covered the half of the room where the hot tub wasn't) and the entire, now flat, floor covered in Trex decking to match the outside deck and to facilitate my using the room for dining and lounging in summer and for overwintering plants. The area where the tub was removed needed new drywall and I also wanted a couple of new electrical outlets and a faucet in the room to make it easy to water those plants. In addition, there had to be a "hatch" in the floor to allow occasional access to the crawl space.
Keith not only replaced our sun room but he designed a better setup so our view is better than ever. A gutter was included (we didn't have on with our old sun room) which has helped with the amount of water running down the house below it. The work was done well, and is warrantied, and everything was cleaned up completely.
Description of Work: Replaced a second floor sun room.

Keith Sitzmann and his sons Beau and Aaron, who worked as subcontractors, specialize in installing Four Seasons sunrooms and related remodeling. Keith came out after we contacted Four Seasons and proposed a solution for a problem of what to do about the nearly unusable balcony and replacement sunroom after removing the old sunroom and hot tub (which we hadn't used in about 12 years). It was a novel approach that I hadn't thought of, and would provide a usable small room where the upper balcony was, along with a great new sunroom that we could actually use. After agreeing on the design, contract, and price, Keith ordered the new sunroom. He kept us informed of the delivery date (it took about two weeks to arrive) and when they would start work. Keith, Beau, and Aaron were always prompt, explained thoroughly what they planned to do, and worked very hard and carefully with their crews. They removed the entire old sunroom and hot tub in one day, which was amazing. I had been wondering for several years about how that could be done. They installed a large tarp over the area to protect it from rain. It took two days to build out the upper room and install the main parts of the sunroom, then another two days to finish everything. They answered all my questions and concerns. We now have two delightful new rooms that are usable, where before was just dead weight on the house. They cleaned up very well and hauled away all the debris -- including the pumps, non-working heater, and hoses for the hot tub that I had removed. Keith said they recycled what they could (wood beams, etc.). Aaron and Beau and their crews did most of the work, and did a great job. We are extremely pleased.
Description of Work: --Completely removed old sunroom with leaking, fogged, and cracked windows. --Removed 8' x 8' hot tub. --Framed in and added front wall and roof of upper story balcony that overlooked old sunroom. --Added 10' window to upper story room. --Installed new Four Seasons sunroom (12' x 12') on existing foundation. --Added floor where hot tub was, and insulated whole floor area. --Added two electrical outlets in the floor; replaced interior and exterior outlets and lights.
