In Harmony Sustainable Landscapes

I discovered In Harmony at the Northwest Flower and Garden show and signed up with their lawn and landscape service. My yard looks so healthy compared to before. : ) I highly recommend them!

It started great- they aerated the lawn, removed the moss, addressed bare spots and overseeded it- the lawn responded with nice green lush grass. However, ever since the second visit- it went downhill (between April and June 30th). As my lawn continued to decline during a very wet season when grass should not need much prompting to do well, I decided to regain control before it went into tailspin into the hot / dry summer. It's unfortunate as I hoped to use a service that didn't turn to full on chemical application but it appears their approach does not work OR the services were not completed as the technician stated it had. I wasn't sure what I was paying for during the April - June timeframe. After a $1,000 ($800 aeration/topsoil/overseeding + $200 regular services) I would expect much, much more!!

Their prices are very reasonable and we're very happy with them.

The design process was great. Our yard is not huge but feels large because of the design. Melissa is very knowledgeable about native plants and what works best for the sun and shade areas. Added more to plant beds in 2011 and one tree didn't survive and was replaced with no questions asked. Our yard feels like a private oasis due to the placement of the plants to block views of neighbors but still provide the feeling of openness. Installation crew was prompt and quick. Total landscape was completed in less than one week.

It was more than we wanted to spend. We had them come out to take a look and see what they would recommend for dealing with our front lawn. He took a while to get us our quote. It is hard for me to say anything about their pricing because I don’t know what the stuff normally is. There is a possibility that we might do business with them in the future. There are ways that they may do part of the work, and we could do some of it.

I have used their services for a little over a year now. We are very satisfied. The person who came over and treated the plants and our lawn did a very good job. He gave us very good advice on how to take care of my plants, my garden and my lawn. I like the technicians who come over. They are very approachable. They are open to questions. After their treatment they talk to me about what I should be concerned with, what is doing well, and what to look forward to in the future as far as treatment is concerned. They offer us their other services like to prune my trees, which they have done. I like the concern that they show. We have had three different technicians that have come over. I find that they know a lot about the plants, trees and how to care for them. I haven't really compared their cost to other companies. I had another company come out and they were comparable as far as price is concerned.

I ask them to call in advance to schedule service and they are always good about that. The weather prevented them from completing all of the treatments needed on their last visit,but I'm sure they will reschedule that.

I like that they were using products they were not pesticides. They used only things that I approve of. The overall experience was good. The price and quality of work were excellent. There was no set time; they just came every month for a couple of years. I am not sure if I would use them in the future. The only thing that I didn't like about them is that they wouldn't do my moss removal more than once a year. Even though I needed it in Fall and Spring, they wouldn't come and do it. In other words, they only did what was on the schedule, when they had it on schedule. My lawn did look nice though while they were doing it.

In Harmony calls periodically throughout the year to let me know that they will be treating my lawn on a specific day. They let me know if I need to do any advance preparation, such as mowing. The reminder for this particular service was left on my home phone while I was away on a trip, so when I accessed it, there was only about 24 hours until the scheduled service. Since I was having my heat pump serviced the same day, and the technician would be walking on the grass, I called to have the lawn service rescheduled. The person who assisted me on the phone was pleasant, and rescheduled the In Harmony technician for later in the day. Normally, I am at work when the service is performed, and they just leave a notice that they have been here, the service they performed, and any suggestions to improve my maintenance regime. During this visit, I was home, and was able to chat with the technician after he sprayed the weeds. Two days later I received a call from In Harmony suggesting that I move my regular fall aerating and overseed service from the fall to spring this year, A few days later I received a postcard with the service date and instructions for pre- and post-maintenance on my part. It was nice to meet the technician who performs my lawn service, and I know my lawn is in good hands with In Harmony.

Great- however, I'm early into the program and I just moved to this location- so hard to tell condition of yard year on year. I chose organic with some use of pesticides. It's been 3 months of service and the lawn looks good except there are still A LOT of weeds intermixed with thick grass- so not sure if it's the time of year that the yard looks good and their program is not effective or their program is effective and it'll just take time to get rid of the weeds (as the grass grows stronger/thicker). Time will tell.

I like that the use natural means to fertilize and take care of lawn pests.

They are very approachable, they are very understanding about my needs. The one thing I liked about them is that they kept in touch with me. They had to postpone the pruning on the fruit trees because they needed to wait until Summer. But they would send me e-mails informing me that they have not forgotten me and things like that. You feel they are on top of things. So when I talked about what I wanted done they came out and looked at the trees and agreed to what needs to be done. So they were approachable and very understanding. Price wise they are very competitive. As for responsiveness they kept in touch with me and were able to do the work within my schedule. The one thing I need to point out is that to cut down on the cost I did some pruning myself specially the branches that I could reach and the ones that I could not I told them to go ahead and prune. I also wanted them to rid of the down rot leaves so specific price was set on that. However when the guy tried to reach the top of the tree, he could not do it with the equipment he had. I brought this to the attention of the supervisor. He apologised and said that sometimes they just can’t reach the top because it is dangerous and they gave me a discount. They actually did about 95% of it and what they could not reach it did not bother me. I have them to do recurring lawn fertilization also.

We have used them for years to fertilize our lawn and keep up on yard.

They are awesome and very knowledgeable. I have been using them for the last 10 years.

I chose them because they are eco-friendly and they don’t use pesticides. I was impressed with them because the people who came to talk to me were very knowledgeable.

They are very responsive and quick.

They come once every 6 weeks and everyone is very friendly. Their customer service is very good and they were great to work with. I like their services and will use the same in future.

We did have them quote pruning services about a year ago but at $75 per hour - it was too expensive for us but in retrospect - it's probably about right for pruning by hand - but I'd like to know how much the total will be, i.e., an estimate of it all. Even though they say they do everything by hand. They wouldn't quote an entire job, just an hourly fee. They are good for the maintenance portion, however.

I think the lawn is going fine, taking a long time for it to come in but I suspect that is the weather and not them. We are satisfied with the grass portion of what they have done. I am not satisfied with the tree portion. One of the reasons is that the arborist did not fully pick up after himself the stuff that he pruned. There is still debris in our yard. There is a weeping cherry where he was supposed to trim the dead wood out of, and he has done a very incomplete job on that. We would use them again in the future if needed.

We were very happy with them. We spent about $90 on that service. We liked that they did a good job and they told exactly what they were doing and the guy that came out was very personable.

We have an annual contract with them. It is all-inclusive for our size of yard and we paid them $900 for the year. We like them and we would highly recommend them. They are excellent. They are responsive. The resulting product always looks great. Our lawn is always the greenest and healthiest looking lawn in the neighborhood. It is all organic. Their price is a little on the higher end but for the service and the outcome that we get, it is definitely a good use of our money.

Their charges are on a monthly basis. My last interaction with them went very well. They do a good job. They are very conscious about using organic or natural treatments for the lawn. They don't use chemical treatments at all. I would use them again in the future, but I decided to take care of my lawn myself. However, if I was going to use a lawn service, I would use them.

Everything went great. They are super friendly, easy to work with, and very thorough.

They were very knowledgeable and friendly, but the price was on the high side. We decided not to do the job.

Once they got started, we had some issues with bugs. I told them that I wanted to know if they could take care of it and they did. It was great.
