Called shortly after 9 am and was told by the receptionist that she would convey my message and I would hear directly from the plumber, which I did, within an hour. He said he had some jobs lined up and might be available this afternoon, but if not, he would schedule me for the following afternoon, and I would hear from him today in any case. He called shortly after 2 and by 3 the work was accomplished. I have used this company three times over a few years and have always been impressed. The work is done quickly and accurately and the worker is pleasant and professional.

This company has had a new owner, Jay, since about mid to late 2015. Most of the ratings here apply to the previous owner, Pete. Some time ago, Pete, replaced a leaking CPVC fitting in the same wall right next to the one that was leaking today. Pete replaced the leaky CPVC fitting and another elbow fitting with copper fittings. Naturally, I assumed that Jay would do the same thing, so I did not even ask. He did offer "shark bite fittings (PEX?), although he said he would not necessarily recommend it. When he was done, I was surprised to see that he had replaced the fittings with CVPC, since EVERYONE knows they are prone to leak over time. I asked him why he used CVPC instead of copper. He said he couldn't (UNTRUE). I pointed to the copper fittings inches away that Pete had used in a similar repair (see the photo). Jay then said there was not room enough to use copper. (Again, UNTRUE). Then he gave a 3rd nonsensical answer. I could see I would not get a straight, honest answer from him. His bill, which was not itemized, even to separate labor and materials, was $286.62. He was here about an hour, including a trip to the store to get a part. I paid it and he left. Later, I wondered if my water pressure might be too high, which might contribute to leaks. I checked and discovered that my water pressure is 90 pounds. The MAXIMUM recommended pressure is only 80 pounds. Jay did not even ask me what my pressure is. (Although, neither had Pete). I also I asked Jay why the bill was so high. He said his minimum call out charge is $160 and just about any job ends up over $200. He does not bill by the hour but by the job, according to a book. He said he also has to consider his driving time to and from each job. He also said he has to pay Pete for the business (absolutely not a valid reason to charge higher prices). I feel like a sucker. I will NEVER use this company again.
Description of Work: A CPVC fitting was leaking. He removed two 90 degree elbows, one which was the leaky fitting, and installed two new 90 degree elbows and a few inches of straight pipe, along with a couple of unions. NOTE: NO ONE uses CPVC anymore in new construction due to its high failure rate. I did not expect him to use CVPC in the repair.

. I have used Forest Ridge plumbing for many years. Pete recently retired and sold the business to Jay F. Both Pete and Jay are the hardest working plumbers I've ever met. One time when Pete was too busy, he referred me to another company where Jay was working at the time. When I called last week about my current needs, I was very pleased to learn Jay was new Forest Ridge Plumbing. Jay is a one-man show just like Pete was and I could not be happier. How many A+++s and thumbs up can I give?

We had two new bathroom vanities from IKEA that needed to have the plumbing hooked up. IKEA sinks have really odd plumbing, but when done right, the two drawers in the vanity will function properly - they'll close all the way, and you actually have a top drawer you can use. If you Google IKEA plumbing hack, you'll find all sorts of ways do-it-yourselfers came up with to conquer plumbing their sinks. No problem for Pete. Because of the location of the shut off valves and drain on one of the vanities, it looked like we may have to cut a section of the back of the top drawer to make it work - but Pete came up with a way to make it work so the drawer would shut all the way without cutting into the back of drawer. This is the third time we've had Pete do stuff for us, and I hope he never retires. He's super efficient, very knowledgeable, and a really nice guy on top of that. If my mom were still alive, and had a plumbing problem, I would make sure she called Pete.

Was very knowledgeable about his craft and fast as anything. Even found a leak in our main we did not know about and fixed it. We did our homework and checked around and found he was the very best and cost the least. Did not try to "up sell" us, just fixed what was wrong and with his experience that comes with over 36 years in the plumbing business was able to fix some items with no extra parts needed. His experience showed and boy was he fast.

The services went very well. He explained why we were having problems with our drain, and what he needed to do to fix them. He also advised us on how to try and fix the problems we were having. A couple years ago we had a dishwasher installed and the company had installed it wrong. He explained to use why we were having the problem, and what the company had done. He is very competent, nice, and his prices are reasonable.

As usual with Pete's work, everything went fine and fast. He removed the old toilet, cleaned the area and put the new one in, taking the old one away so I didn't have to deal with that. He's usually very responsive, but this time he was able to even work me in the same day I called to schedule since he was relatively nearby w/ a schedule gap.

Doing a bathroom remodel and needed the toilet cutoff nipple into the wall replaced since it was the old galvanized. Normally I do many plumbing things myself, but if this breaks off in the wall, then it turns into a job I'm not up for taking on. Pete handled one of these before for me so I got him out for this one "just in case". Of course, if it went well it would be quick, so I also tagged him to do the new toilet install (and watched to learn tips and tricks for the next one - he's really great about answering questions and passing on knowledge so his clients can take on what they want to themselves). The wall work went fine and Pete works so fast and efficient that we were only halfway through the 1hr minimum, so I got him to also do a similar cutoff nipple replacement in the other bathroom (for a future remodel), this time cramped behind an in-place toilet. In true Pete form, he made that smooth and fast. Lots done in a single call. Thx, Pete!

There was leaking from the bathroom upstairs around the toilet. The other plumber we used, but still it has not fixed. So I asked a friend to a good plumber, she gave me Porest ridge Plumbing co. I talked with Pate in the morning, he came in few hours, and showed me the problem and fixed quickly. He was very professional and quick. I appraise his service. I will use him again.

He tried to trouble shoot over the phone; he checked to see if I was having problems with other drains. I was not at the time; however, after he came and worked on the laundry room drain, he checked to make sure I wasn't having sewer problems. It turned out that I was. So another call to another type of plumber. He also cleaned up the overflow!
Description of Work: Pete has been my go-to guy for years. He does excellent work for very reasonable prices. He has done many jobs for me--from fix an outdoor faucet that someone hit with a car, to fix my kitchen sink leaks. Today, I called him about a clogged drain in my laundry room sink. It filled the sink to the top and ran over a little to the floor when I ran the clothes washer last night. I do not have a filter on the drain, and I will get one.

I called Forest Ridge because of a leak under an upstairs shower. Pete returned my call promptly. He asked a number of questions, trying to determine what might be causing the leak. Once we settled on it probably being the drain, he arranged to come out the same day, even though he was booked pretty solid. Pete quickly determined that the old gasket was worn out -- he had a new one in his truck, installed it, tested to make sure that the leak was stopped, and he was done. I like doing business with smaller local companies where the owner is the one who does the work. Pete presents a very clean-cut, professional appearance. He is quite personable and friendly, while doing his work quickly and efficiently. I was very satisfied and will definitely call Forest Ridge first the next time I need plumbing services.

My contractor's plumber had extended my outdoor faucet up to my deck. Although I had put insulation around the pipe, it froze and broke this winter, which I discovered after opening the pipe's shutoff valve. I've used Pete in the past and have been happy with his service. He fixed the pipe and installed a drain valve next to the shut off valve, so I can drain the pipe for the winter. These two fixes took about 30 minutes, so I asked Pete to look at a leaking front yard faucet. He replaced that faucet with a newer model. A few days later, I noticed that the repaired copper pipe was leaking. I called Forest Ridge Plumbing the next business day, a Monday. Pete arranged to come out within a day or two. Because he didn't need inside access, he said I wouldn't need to be home for the repair, which was great. As I was leaving work Monday night, Pete left me a voicemail, saying he had fixed the pipe (something was wrong with the solder he had used), and there was no charge, of course. Pete is honest and stands by his work. His friendliness makes him a pleasure to work with.

Pete is a very nice man and was able to come out the day I called him to fix a faucet that had been dripping. I had received all the parts from Moen and Pete connected all the parts and I now have water in my kitchen. He then adjusted the pressure reducing valve so that I now have water pressure. A previously botched job by Steve the Plumber who never checked on the pressure. I have been at 50% water pressure for years but Pete adjusted the valve in minutes and I now have decent water pressure.

Went really well. We had been experiencing a rumbling noise in our home that we were unable to figure out what it was. Called Forrest Ridge and Pete called back a few minutes later and advised to turn the water off at one of the toilets and just like that the noise ended. Called him back the next day to share that the noise had stopped and he was at the house in about an hour. We had wanted the valves/working in our other toilets replaced to keep the water hammering experience to end. He replaced all the workings in the 3 toilets, in probably less than a hour. We feel the price was right, really impressed by the service.

Needed a new toilet installed and a bathroom sink plumbed because the plumber I had booked for the job cancelled on me. I called Forest Ridge Friday afternoon and Pete was at my house at 9am the following Monday. He went right to work and had the new toilet up and running pretty quickly. Then he moved to the sink, where we ran into a problem with the electronic faucet I had purchased. Pete advised that it had no meter on it so we could not regulate hot/cold water, and that our current pluming set up did not have the capability to regulate hot or cold water. He recommended that we exchange our faucet for the correct one because we'd run the risk of getting our water too hot or too cold, which I agreed. He hooked up everything under the sink except the faucet. I'm glad Pete was knowledgeable on the subject because I think we would not have been happy had the faucet been installed without a meter. We will have to wait another week or two till the new faucet arrives, but I think it will be worth the wait and happy that we took Pete's advice!

At different times, I used this provider to put in a new kitchen faucet, garbage disposal and instant hot water unit. He was great and so was his price. The one caveat is that he is (or was, at that time) the only plumber in his business, so when he is unavailable for any reason, there will be a wait. But for non-emergency work, he is worth it.

Our instant hot water dispenser in our kitchen had failed. My husband tried replacing it but had problems w/the connection. We thought it was successfully capped. Turns out that was but not the fitting behind it. I called Forest Ridge plumbing and Peter happened to be in a nearby neighborhood and was able to stop by. In 30 minutes he had fixed the leak and told me how to dry everything out and suggested repairs. He was on time, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable!

Pete's bid was the lowest. He was able to install the hot water heater within a couple of days of my call. He arrived on time, quickly removed the leaking hot water heater, and installed the new one.
