Our company does roof maintenance & exterior home cleaning services very differently. The 5 BIGGEST Problems with most roof contractors is the foundation we built a business system on to OVERCOME those problems and typical let downs. For a complete "Insiders Guide" detailing everything you will enjoy with our company go to yourroofmedic.com/insidersguide but heres a quick list... 1. Communication- every job service order is tracked with a state of the art online system that communicates with you on every single task associated to any work we do for you ...from start to completion! Your never left in the dark. 2. Confidence- Our employees, (not subs or temporary labor) are trained on all aspects of roof construction so they can identify the best way to clean, repair and service your roof and home. This is important so you have competent technicians working on your home with us. 3. Competitive- We solve the "moss & maintenance" problems but more important we provide "low-cost" future solutions to keep it solved. Your roof is cared for, without dangerous self service or costly waiting that creates build-up and subsequent moss or rot in your roof. We provide senior discounts and military discounts of course, but we also provide low cost yearly or periodic solutions that are cheaper to simply keep your roof looking and lasting like new. Simple! 4. Complete- When we are done, your covered under our "step on your roof" warranty. Once we begin we thoroughly go over anything your roof may need to keep it in service protecting your home. You decide if it fits your goals.
We called and left message! We received a call back within the hour! Within the half hour Bob Faulk was at our home assessing the leak! He found 3 cracked vents on the roof and replaced them! YaHoo! Bob's my hero! Thanks so much! We had minimal damage! All fixed and ready for the next storm!
Description of Work: We had a leak in our second story 6 year old house!

[Member Name Removed] I want to start off by apologizing that we did not get in contact with you to schedule an estimate. We have experienced a much higher call volume than we are use to coming into late spring and summer which has caused much delay in follow-ups and scheduling. That, paired with Bob (the owner & estimator) having a family emergency involving his son in the hospital as the result of a motorcycle accident, has put much strain on our ability to schedule estimates for new customers. Be that as it may, we do again apologize at our inability to reach you in a timely manner. I will be calling you shortly to inform you that Bob would like to come by, possibly today, to speak with you and to see if there is anything further he could do to help. Thank You Britany Johnson - Office Manager

The Coveys hired us to service their roof which we did and they were very pleased. We also have a maintenance service available to our clients where we can come out yearly and provide roof tune ups and even moss treatments. We don't however have any contracts and we dont collect any money in advance for any of our service on purpose. We never want to be in a position where we are holding our clients money for services not yet provided. It could be potentially lucrative for us to carry over 6500 clients yearly service cost in our account at a typical cost of $300 per client but that leaves both us and our clients in a position of risk. We also found that repeated contact and scheduling challenges required by us to facilitate our clients made it very cost prohibitive to be obligated to provide a contract service. The final reason we do not have contracts is there's no way of adjusting the frequency each clients home needs that type of service based on factors like trees and lots of debris or no trees and zero debris as well as the cost from time to time as our operating costs go up which again is not a sustainable business model. The Coveys would not acknowledge any of our rational even though they have never paid for any service in advance and they could never provide that contract. We gave them a service quote for an annual maintenance in 2013 which I did stay as close to that exact cost as possible. They didn't want to change to the service I recommended due to the environment around their home so there's not much I can do. Again they can provide the very work quote that says exactly my quote for our tip top roof service is not a contract for the reasons I stated above. If they would like to acknowledge that on here I'd be happy to just provide that service absolutely FREE simply for them being integris with this reply. They can respond here and call our office to schedule that service FREE once they update this review.

Person arrived late. Did efficient work, but, I had to remind him of items supposed to be part of services. Had him inspect roof where I had a small leak. Was supposed to report to Bob, the boss about what he found. I waited two weeks and finally called and found the information not reported to Bob. Now I am a month from that and am told by Bob I will have to wait until Sept to have work done. He has no estimate to give me. These issues have been addressed to my full satisfaction.

Left a mess in the yard with miss despite this being the key differentiator and guaranteed sataifaction. Was to come back in a week to apply the moss treatment. Finally said they could come back 3 weeks later. Then did not show up on the agreed upon date. When we called to ask where they were they informed us they were not coming out and would not be installing the antenna and that they could come out in two days to apply the moss treatment. I called the owner Bob to tell him how upset I was with the service and he was extremely rude, offered no apology and hung up on me. I had told him I was going to refuse to pay if he refused to provide the service we agreed upon. That is hen he said "we'll see about that and hung up. A simple apology and promise to make it right was all I was looking for. We chose them because we believe their pitch about higher quality and satisfaction guarantees. Good salesman, but terrible service and business owner.

All I can truly say is I’m so sorry. I’ve been in business for 15 years and I’m pretty good at avoiding challenges simply by evaluating prospective customers when I meet them in person. I’ve gladly provided all our services to the [Removed Member Name] completely FREE of charge, not because the statement Mr. [Member Name Removed] provided was in fact what happened but simply in hopes to just gracefully allow them to pursue the agenda they intended from the beginning. I met with [Member Name Removed] in person March 8th. She had a couple items she wanted serviced including her roof cleaned, her gutters cleaned out and a dish tv antenna removed from her roof. She expressed her budget was very tight so she would need to see what she could afford and asked me if I would give her a quote for each separately. I provided the quote for exactly those services as detailed on the service order I have attached. [Removed Member Name] later called my office manager and asked if we would reduce our price to match the other quotes she received from other companies but she stated she wanted us to provide the service due to I was the only contractor that actually got on her roof for the inspection, the detail I provided, presentation and our packet on our service. Brittany (my office manager) stated our prices reflect our service but she would be happy to ask me to follow up with the [Removed Member Name] and I did. I called [Removed Member Name] back, confirmed that I quote the price I do because of the service I provide and respectfully declined the service. She called a 2nd time and asked if we would provide the entire roof cleaning, gutter clean out and moss treatment for the price of cleaning of the gutters. I again called her back and somewhat tongue in cheek declined her request again and basically said if you're looking for a cheap service I would suggest go with one of the other quotes she received from another contractor. A 3rd time she called Brittany and asked her could we just clean the roof and gutters and throw in the dish removal for free. I called [Removed Member Name] back for the last time and let [Removed Member Name] know I’m probably not the service company for their family and thank you for the opportunity. Two months later, [Removed Member Name] called back once again and confirmed she wanted our service so my office manager scheduled them for May 23rd. Our service is done in steps due to weather and utilization of technicians. The 1st step is to clean the roof, gutters and clean-up all the debris from that step. We purposely don't apply treatment due to it being rained off so when weather permits we reschedule and apply. Each step of our service is confirmed with a quality control call after to insure nothing was left undone and when Britt did that later that afternoon [Removed Member Name] did say there was a some moss left in her grass on the side of her home. Britt stated she would have a tech out the next morning but [Removed Member Name] stated it was minor and they were going to mow that day so it would be gone. Our next available date for treatment Britt called and scheduled the [Removed Member Name] in where we would remove the dish, treat and clean the gutter faces and treat the roof. I was then called by [Removed Member Name] directly to let me know she had another dish she needed installed in the place of the original. I knew nothing about the new dish until that moment nor are we equipped for have experience in installing dishes outside of removing the posts and replacing the damaged shingles where the dish was originally installed. I stated that and she said well could I just do it anyway. I can figure most things out but their roof is extremely technical, steep and I clearly stated as it's outlined on her work order I’ve provided that “dish removal” means exactly that and not installation of a new dish in its place. She said she was going to have her husband call me and he did. Mr. [Member Name Removed] was belligerent on the phone and when I expressed we don't know anything about the trade of dish installation or connection his response was...if you have a screwdriver you should be able to figure it out! I stated we didn’t quote that and we are unable to provide that service so he said you can “fu”” yourself and that he wouldn't be paying the bill. In retrospect I should have just figured out how to provide that for him because I believe this is this couples habit. Our cleaning is complete, the gutters are immaculate, the only thing left is to have a dish contractor do what their trade does. I believe the best thing at this point is for us to do exactly what I’ve done and that's to have provided all the service I’ve done so far for FREE and not waste more time or energy. Mr. [Removed Member Name] desire from the beginning is described clearly in his BBB complaint which his resolution is we provide our services for FREE so...DONE. I find most people understand value which if the statement the watsons provided were true, then every step to actually provide a quality service would have a value but I believe the [Removed Member Name] probably view most people as below them therefore they were going to make our service provide them with the investment they felt our service was worth and in the process punish us as they have when they don't get what they want. I’m thankful the [Removed Member Name] do not represent most people. God bless him!

Came out to give estimate and roof inspection. Made an appointment for about three weeks out. Had office call that he would be late, and was. Ready to work immediately on arrival. Took no breaks. Did exactly as discussed. Left the property looking like he hadn't been there except roofs were immaculate. I am in the process of getting an invoice. This is my second time using Roof Medic and would recommend this company. It may cost more initially, but it lasts longer. So, there is a definite value advantage.

The company is highly recommended for cleaning off the moss and stains from your roof. They used high pressure air to clean off the moss from the roof. They then came back a few days later and put some cleaning solution on the roof to clean off all the stains that remained. The roof looks great now. The day that the moss was removed from the roof all of the debris was cleaned up from around the house before they left. A job well done and we would use this company for any further problems our roof might have. They are rescheduled to come back next year to treat the roof before the moss and make sure that it is never an issue again. The employee who did the work was very polite and knew how to do the work that needed to be done. He also came back the second day to complete the process..

The provider was out of town at the time I contact him. He replied promptly and the work was scheduled and occurred on time. He came to provide a quote after viewing the work to be done. I inquired about the process, for which he had a customer book of articles, letters from customers and FAQs. I selected this company because he was listed as environmentally friendly. The method promoted as environmental was the gentle air pressure method of cleaning the moss off the roof. This method was preferred over high water or air pressure. A "treatment" was then applied after the air cleaning. I asked about the components of the "treatment" and he told me it was sodium based. When I arrived home after the day of service, I noticed a very strong bleach smell outside and all of the patio furniture was still out in the grass and not returned to it's place. Three days after the day of cleaning, a hard rain came, which left lots of suds in the downspouts. I was painting the gutters and finished the back side of the house after the treatment and before the rains. The service was to include cleaning the gutters. I had previously cleaned 3/4 of the gutters before the service. While painting the gutters, I was also still cleaning out the debris that should have been cleaned out. The shed in the back still had "treatment" remaining that didn't wash off but it didn't look clean. I spoke with the owner after a follow-up call, which didn't come until 3 weeks later. He said he would return to clean the shed better if I needed it, and after more rains. I have noticed that the one area where grass is immediately in contact with the downspout runoff still remain dead as a doornail. I used an organic lawn service (which I mentioned to the roof service guy - how important environmental products were for me) and the rest of my lawn is gorgeous. When I spoke with the owner, he started to compare the "treatment" to 60 Second Cleaner, which seems like consumer-friendly bleach. Although the service was prompt (generally - billing and follow-up could have been better), my greatest disappointment was the lack of information available on the ingredients of the "treatment". The roof is clean and bright. I did have to finish cleaning out the gutters (probably from when they blew off the debris in the cleaning). Most importantly, the chemicals were not up to my expectation. I guess part of that falls on me for going with the "sodium" description and not seeing anything in writing. He did a good enough job for what he offers, but it doesn't appear to be ALL environmentally friendly.

Hi [Member name removed], I'm sorry to just now be responding to your review. I'm fairly new to this and didn't realize Angie's list gives me an opportunity to reply. First thank you for letting me service your home. My desire is to provide value for my clients in the work I produce. Your home had a great deal of moss due to being so close (and under trees). Moss damages the composition by digesting the tar in the composition and ultimately creating holes, gravel loss, and the moss when its mature holds moisture. That moisture can keep the tar paper underlayment under your fiberglass shingles wet. Tar paper underlayment is nothing more than tar soaked crate paper. When that gets wet and dries out repeatedly its like a news paper that gets wet and dries over and over. The result is it gets brittle, cracks and then you develop premature leaks. When we clean a roof, we use air to remove the moss. The air is directed down the roof to remove most all the moss from the roof. If moss is mature especially when the environment around the home has lots of tree debris, moss begins to grow under each course of roofing shingles and lift them, even breaking the thin tar seal that glues them down to the next course. This can cause the roof to be very vulnerable to wind damage. I treated your roof a little heavier than typical because many of your shingles were lifted already from mature moss growth and during the air wash process we never clean up a roof so there may be some residual moss growing under the shingles that can not be removed by the air wash so the treatment needs to do more of the "heavy lifting" of the moss. I sincerely intended to provide you with a better clean and longer term results so your roof lasted longer. Sometimes that does leave a residue. I also increased the concentration in order to be more effective. Its more costly for us but the results are better for you. I had no idea there was anything left in the gutters and will follow up with you even at this point to provide a full gutter clean out if you will allow. If there was any other items or concerns, please call me at my office. My cell phone is also available in my angies list profile. Thank you again for your review and I hope to be able to service your roof again in the future.

The roof was cleaned at some point in May or June. The moss killer needed to be applied at a later date when it was dry. I received a bill for the job and there was still moss/scum in the usual places on the roof. After a few calls and back and forth they finally sent someone, including Bob the owner. The roof had not been treated so they treated it w/Bob assisting. The substance that was used on the roof killed all the moss and scum. Within days it turned white and with the heat we had this summer it finally just blew away. Pretty amazing stuff! I had a few minor issues w/ the roof but Bob went out of his way to take care of them. He will do whatever it takes to make sure you are satisfied w/ the job. Can't ask for more than that!

I cannot report upon how the job went with my own roof, but I can say that the roof on my neighbor's house where Roof Medic did the job is immaculate. Also, there did not seem to be a leaf out of place in the garden surrounding the house. The technician came, did the job, did a careful pick-up of the grounds and was gone in a short time.
Description of Work: I am compelled to revise the negative review I submitted to Angie's List not long ago. The owner of this company has such care about his reputation and the satisfaction of customers and potential future customers that he paid me a visit at my residence. He explained the reasons for setting an appointment at a time that was too far in the distance for my immediate needs and I was satisfied with his explanation. This is a company that strives to uphold their reputation, cares about the smallest details, and emphasizes customer (and non-customer) satisfaction. We talked outside in front of my home about roofs and I was given an education about roofs and saw a person that has great passion for people and his business. He was not highly critical about the competitor who got the job, he only pointed out some minor areas that he would have done differently. How often do the service providers you DID NOT USE go out of their way to visit you-especially when the next service is not required for another 6 years?

Bob, the owner, was on time and explained everything to me...how the roof would be cleaned with "touchless" compressed air after which the grounds and driveway would be cleaned up, leaving no roof debris. He inspected the grounds and the roof, and checked to make sure all the flashing, especially around the fireplace, was in good condition. He explained the difference between the different treatments he offered, and I chose the moss/mold/mildew treatment instead of just a moss treatment, though it was was more expensive. He also asked if I would like the faces of the gutters treated to get rid of the mildew and freshen them up, and explained that would cost extra, too. I agreed to that, as the gutter faces looked pretty bad. We set an appointment a week later at 8:00am for the cleaning, and he explained that the treatment would follow in a day or two, whenever the weather was good. He told me I would be called to assure that I would be home so I would know when it would happen. He also told me that the roof would look almost as good as new when they were all done. I signed the order and he left, leaving me with a packet of information that included a 'how to take care of your roof,' letters and notes of thanks for the great job they did, and a list of jobs that I could check on. On the appointed date and time, the young man doing the cleaning showed up, I unlocked the back gate for him, and he told me, after looking at the house, that it would take him a couple of hours to do the job including the clean up. He was good to his word, and the roof looked great and the grounds were cleaned up. He told me that the roof would look even better after the treatment and would look almost new. I was looking forward to that. Within a couple of hours after the roof cleaner left I received a phone call asking if it was alright to treat the roof. I was surprised but said that it would be fine. That young man told me he'd be there at 1:00pm and was right on time. I asked about the chemicals used and he explained that there was some bleach in the mix, so I asked if he'd tarp my canvas canopy I have over the front door. He said that he would before he treated the roof, and he did. The treatment, which included the roof and the gutter faces, took about an hour. This also included rinsing off the windows with fresh water to remove overspray from the treatment of the gutter faces. After the treatment and rinse were completed, the young man packed everything back in his truck and left. Both young men were friendly, professional and very competant. And true to statements of Bob, the owner, and the young man (O.J) who did the cleaning, my roof hadn't looked so good since it was installed about 10 to 12 years ago. It looked new. The treatment is guaranteed for 2 years, so it really is a matter of time to see if it will last that long. Other than that, I am well-satisfied. I chose this particular cleaning because it was touchless...that is, my roof would not be pressure-washed nor would it be swept with a broom, which would remove material from the surface of the composite shakes and shorten the life of my roof. It's probably more expensive than having my roof pressure-washed or swept, but it also will prolong the life of my roof. Overall, the cost of this cleaning and treatment is small compared to the cost of a new roof, especially nowadays. I would recommend this company, if you're in the market for a roof cleaning and treating. I'd use them again.

Everything went very well from start to end. Our roof looks very clean and new!
Description of Work: We recently had our roof cleaned by "Roof Medic by Clean America" and are completely satisfied with the work. The crew were working on our neighbor's home, and we asked them to stop by and give us a quote. We already had an appointment to have our roof cleaned the next day by another company from the Angie's List, but we chose Roof Medic. The roof clean lasts approximately 2-3 years instead of one year, unlike the competitors. First, the Roof Medic air washed the roof, cleaned out all gutters and downspouts, and used liquid cleaner instead of granules to kill the moss. Also they cleaned the walkway and driveway. The price was a bit higher, but result was definitely worth it!
