They put in an asphalt driveway and then two years later came back and sealed it. I would hire them again. They are good. When you get asphalt put in, they say every 5-6 years, you should put a sealant on it. You seal asphalt. So they came back 2 years after installing to put the seal on it. We will do it again in 6 years. They came out and did a real good job. They are real good to work with. My dad used to do asphalt work. They did a real nice job. They are so so competent and good at what they do.

Went Great! Tom showed up on time, actually early, job was completed as agreed. So far no complaints. Time will tell as to how well the re-coating/sealing holds up but currently we are very pleased with the work done in 2016 and now in 2017.

The work was timely and exceeded expectations

The job was scheduled shortly after I gave the go-ahead. The crew actually arrived a day late because of a mix-up, for which Norm apologized and offered compensation. The job was completed in about 4 hours, including breaking up and hauling away the old asphalt, graveling, replacing with new asphalt and grading, in addition to installing a root barrier along one side of the driveway to prevent future problems. I was completely satisfied with the work and the beautiful new driveway.

Norm and team completed most of the work on the road but they were rushed because of darkness. There were a couple of post road issues that needed to be address and Norm took care of it. Overall a good experience and I would definitely recommend and hire them again.

We were really impressed by their quality of work and their price compared to other quotes we received. We would gladly recommend them to others.

The crew was a well-orchestrated machine. They showed up earlier than expected (a good thing) and worked extremely efficiently. They went above and beyond to level out a parking area in the front of the yard - I only asked them to scrape the grass away with their dozer, but they went the extra mile and put down gravel. I would certainly recommend Roads Paving to anyone looking for this type of work. My only minor gripe is that they did not honor the coupon that I had from Angie's List.

After getting 5 bids from a variety of local companies, we decided to go with Roads Paving. The range in price for this job was all over the place. I had company's pricing the same exact job for upwards of $6,700. Another company came in at $3,389. Ground Effex had great reviews, but their bid was priced at $6,300. Roads Paving priced this job at $2,178.36 plus tax. After the job was completed, the actual price with tax was $2,385. The crew of about 6 guys came at the scheduled time to begin and worked very efficiently. The job began at noon and was completed around 4:00PM. There was enough material at the end to even lay an extra layer of gravel on the driveway apron next to my parking strip free of charge. The drain under our parking strip needed to be raised, and it was mistakenly overlooked when the original bid came in. The owner, Norm, touched base with me to let me know that it would cost an additional $1,500 to have it raised, but due to the mistake on the bid, there was no charge added. My wife and I are very pleased with the outcome and would definitely recommend/use this company again.

We were originally scheduled for 11am but got delayed til nearly 4pm due to their previous job running late. It was a Friday. Norm came by and asked if we wanted to postpone, worried that the inspector might charge us an extra fee, but I had spoken with the inspector and he was prepared and ok with a late afternoon job. So Norm made some calls, got his crew on track. They showed up with a HUGE crew who worked hard and got it done, excavation and prep to finish in 2 hours. Impressive bunch of guys, especially the bobcat driver! They also worked with our inspector to deal with a challenging storm drain that was in the way and not have the asphalt look strange. Their plan worked great. End result is our asphalt skirt looks amazing and they got it done on the day promised, despite unforeseen circumstances. They were 100% professional. Absolutely yes, I would hire them again if I had any more asphalt to do!

HORRIBLE work which was verified by other professionals called out to see it. Initially, we thought the only problem was that Roads Paving didn't pour to the proper, agreed upon dimensions which was a big problem as the sports court has very specific dimensions. Needless to say, what we thought was a small fix and something any other contractor would discuss reasonably was the opposite of Norm. His response to our email asking to talk about the job was him arriving at our door unannounced, refusing to fix it saying "It's impossible! We had to do it that way," threatening my wife and refusing to leave yelling that he was going to tear it out right then if she didn't pay him, and finally neighbors coming out and her having to call 911 for police to make him leave. (yes we have photos and video) We tried to work it out with him several times even after his crazy behavior but he had no intention of negotiating saying we owed him the full amount regardless of our satisfaction with the job, making a crazy accusation that we're scammers who probably "plotted" to get the job free probably "from the start", and saying if we don't pay him in full immediately, he'll put a lien on the house. Ultimately with his refusal to discuss any fix or solutions, we finally called other contractors to bid on fixing it. But instead of getting prices on lengthening the court area to the right dimension, we learned that Roads Paving's work was so bad that it wasn't even worth saving! The other contractors' criticisms of Roads Paving's work were unsolicited as we only talked to them out lengthening the court and reconnecting to the driveway. But after taking a look around they all brought up the same problems with the quality of Roads Paving's work, saying that we'd see breaking, potholes, and cracking within the year, and any "fixes" would be a temporary patch on substandard work; that we'd be happier down the road if we tear it out and just do it right. They all assumed we had hired a cheap, inexperienced contractor to save money when in fact Roads Paving was one of the higher bids, and on paper looked experienced. Here are just some of the problems pointed out by other contractors about Roads Paving's work: the sports court area was not leveled properly so water doesn't drain away from the house and is very uneven with several areas that dip low where water sits/puddles (as large as 12' long stretch in a spot). There are areas throughout that are so porous and flakey that you can scratch the bumpy surface with your finger and easily remove/flake away the little rocks in the asphalt because they didn't compact it properly which also means water will sit in there and freeze and break the asphalt in the winter under any weight. The asphalt is too thin- they started around 2" then as they finished the driveway and ran out of material it went down to 1/2" thick - so thin that plain dandelion weeds were strong enough to push up/break the asphalt making it crumble up where the weeds started growing. They asked if there was a warranty on the driveway as many companies like them offer 1 yr guarantees - but no, no warranty from Roads Paving... Unfortunately we hired them because we aren't asphalt experts and trusted Angie's list which showed them as an "A" contractor - big mistake. They don't even resemble the same company I see on the web, but because we trusted Angie's list and probably those fake reviews, we went with them. The other contractors were able to quickly see the problems in the work. As an asphalt professional, Norm should have also seen that his crew did a poor job and cut corners when he first came over to see the work which may explain why he refused to discuss fixing the problem civilly like anyone would normally do. We've never had a problem with a contractor before and could not have anticipated Norm's extreme and odd behavior. Also, our sports court dimensions were well thought-through, specific and drawn out, which is how we discussed bids for the job. And when we went over them with Norm at the time he bid, he said he could do that work with no problem. So we thought it would be as simple as pointing out that the crew didn't pour to the agreed-upon dimensions of the sports court, and he'd have them come back and fix it, and everyone would be happy. (We also went over these dimensions and pointed out the markers in the soil with the crew lead on the job before they started the work.) Also, Norm's crew arrived 4 hrs early even though we reconfirmed their start time again the day before because we wanted to take time off work and be home while they were here (which probably could have solved them pouring to the wrong dimensions ignoring the markers that were still laying there when we returned), but because they came so early, we had to leave, and by the time we returned, they were done and there was nothing that could be done at that time without talking to Norm. Learn from my story, which is still ongoing with this unreasonable guy. Avoid them if you want a job well done that will last, and don't want them harassing your family.

Responsive to my request, the site was examined and an estimate was retured right away. We got on the schedule with the work to be done 3-4 weeks out. Tom, the owners son was friendly and kept us posted along the way, but most of all assured us that the job would look great when finished. They came out the the scheduled day with a large crew and several large pieces of equipment and finished the job in 6 hours. The job they did was A+, Feathered edges and a good transition out on the street! The cleanup was excellent, and the place looks fresh and new. I highly recommend Roads Paving!

Friendly, courteous, professional. Excellent explanation of the work to be done. Arrived promptly on planned day of work. Cleanup was excellent. Performed entire job in one day, with a fairly large driveway. The finish work was excellent, with finished edges to the asphalt and great appearance to the finished product. All work completed as agreed.

Norm came out on time, and he completed the job in just a few hours. They filled in the trench that was created. I wasn't thrilled the dirt that they brought but it ended up being fine. There was a problem being able to close my garage door, but they came out quickly and fixed it. The crew the excellent, professional, and knowledgeable.

Wish I could give a BETTER grade than A. I was skeptical at first, but ended up more than pleased. If there are paving gods, these guys have a direct link. I wish I could give them more than just an A grade, because they deserve it. Had my 40 year old, 250’ long driveway on a steep slope replaced in October 2015. Norm and his crew arrived a little late because of traffic, but were ready to hit the ground (and my old driveway) running. They ripped out the old one with a Bobcat and hauled off the debris in multiple large dump trucks in under 2 hours. They then laid a new crushed rock base, compacted it and laid new asphalt in the remaining 7 or 8 hours. I’ve never seen a crew work so fast and as a team as they did. 9 guys in total; each one of them knew their job and did it. They all worked together like a smooth running machine. They even helped me out by digging 4 trenches to lay a utility drainpipes and electrical conduits under the new driveway for later use. All was done in a day, very impressive and they took all debris away, nothing was left. They widened the old driveway and even created a turnout area to make turns easier for cars. I was happy the day they did the job and now, 7 months I still get compliments. Their estimate was not the lowest, nor (by far) the highest. But their online reviews and feedback plus dealing with Norm convinced me they'd be the right choice. And they were. Dealing with Norm from the time he visited for the estimate until follow-up after the job was done was a pleasure. I’ve told him he can send anyone over for a reference or to take a look at my driveway. (I wish I could add pictures to this review...) Norm was a delight to work with. He provided a quote on the spot, suggested several esthetic enhancements, and promised to do a job in half the time that other bidders required. His crew did an excellent job. They arrived on time, worked very hard, took care not to damage my established plants, cleaned the site thoroughly and left behind only... a new beautiful driveway!

Norm was very punctual, courteous and professional throughout the whole process. We were in a position that we needed to have it done immediately. He met us to discuss and give us the proposal and 2 days later did the work in it's entirety. The crew did an amazing job and left the site pristine. We most certainly would use Road Paving again and highly recommend them to any that may need services they provide.

Roads Paving added approximately 4000 square feet of asphalt to our community entrance way and repaired cracks to our existing road. Excellent quality work.

A delivery truck damaged our driveway and the truck company hired Roads Paving to do the repairs. We had other paving companies come to give us quotes and Roads' quote was similar to theirs. Roads (Norman) was not great at returning phone calls from us to schedule the work. After a few weeks, Norm's son finally came again to see our driveway and to schedule. We were not home to see the work being done, but are satisfied with the results.

OUTSTANDING! I got 3 separate bids. Norm from Roads Paving came out and walked through it with me, and came out again when I had more questions. One company bid way high, Roads Paving and another company had the same price. I went with Roads Paving because I felt like Norm had listened to my concerns, understood what I wanted, had great Angie's List reviews, and had a solid price. The weather caused a couple of reschedules, but the front office staff and Norm kept in contact so I was never surprised. The team came out one day with the intent of working but packed it up after it started raining hard. I appreciated that they didn't try to jam it in when it just didn't make sense. They were out early on the 23rd with Leo leading the crew. Watching these guys work is like watching the flight deck crew on an aircraft carrier. They were always in motion. Nobody was standing around shooting the breeze. It was a well orchestrated job where everybody knew their role and did it well. I have a beautiful driveway. The drainage line was a challenge -- because of me. It was on a property boundary line and I thought I was in synch with my neighbor. He came home and was concerned about the approach I had taken. After consulting with Leo and Norm the team reworked the drainage line. The neighbor is happy and I'm happy. I hate making people redo something they have just done but nobody on the team showed any frustration. Best of all, it was done in one day and actually came in a bit under the estimate. I'd definitely use these folks again.

The process went pretty smoothly given that there were 6 individuals that had an interest and they each had their special requirements. Norm was patient with all parties to work out a deal that everyone was happy with. They gave us an estimate, came when they said they would and performed the job as was specified at the time of the estimate. The workers were courteous and repectful of everyones property and the road looked great.

Norm came out 2 weeks ago and walked our project. He gave great suggestions and bid was spot on. This is definitely a full bore asphalt company, not a fly by night.... I think there were eight or nine very professional workers on the project. Very well coordinated team knocked this out in about four hours. Please give Norm the opportunity to bid your next asphalt project. I am sure you will be as pleased as we are. I was very happy with the level of communication and final product. I had been concerned about getting sealer on the concrete porches, foundation, etc. and was please that they were extremely careful in regard to this concern. Product appeared to be applied appropriately and not thinned as I have heard some places do. They were good about getting the edges of the driveway sealed as well. I'll use Roads Paving again.

The workers showed up early and finished the job in seven hours. They were very professional, polite and friendly. It was a large project, over 5,000 square feet, and I never thought it could be done in a day but these guys were great; everyone knew their job and did it, great team work. My husband is so happy with our new driveway, he says it looks like a black river flowing through our property If you need a new driveway, hire Roads Paving; you'll be glad you did.

Did a great job. Prompt, professional and left us with a great new driveway. I called with questions after the fact and my calls were always returned within an hour or so. I will have them come back for sealing when the time comes.
