Regal Drywall

I was on a fairly short timeframe because I was waiting for the work to get completed so I could move into the house. The Regal team was very responsive to my needs and was able to turn around the job quickly. They were professional. They did a nice job. My garage looks great! From my perspective it was a great investment in my house. I use the garage for storage of household items that I don't need everyday, but I like to access quickly. Having an inviting garage is really a plus because of the way I use them. Thanks Team Regal..you guys were great!

Showed up as scheduled and completed the work within the estimated time. Very happy with the results.

Contacted John (?) at least 5 times since the purchase of the Angies Deal for $289.00 in AUG of 2013. I even requested certain days: Scheduling Member suggested dates to schedule service: Morning (AM) on 9/4/2013 Morning (AM) on 9/11/2013 Morning (AM) on 9/25/2013 |I left messages and even spoke to a live person. They always told me that they would get back to me,they never did. My Angies Deal is now expired but I would love to change my review and give them all A's if they would just get back to me and do the work I purchased. I have never had a problem with purchasing an Angies Deal before but this really bites! Not sure if I will be purchasing anymore, if this one doesn't get straightened out!

These guys were so nice! I purchased a deal but I put off doing the work because I was going through a health event and months of treatment. they were super workable about putting it off. they almost always answered their phone, were super punctual and just genuinely nice guys. That means a lot as a woman in the biz. Sometimes contractors think that I know less about work around the house, but I'm an architect, and usually know more than they think I do! I set these guys up with everything they needed and then left and went to work. felt totally fine about leaving them alone to work in the house. they called me when they were done and I thought they were honest and accurate about the work that was performed and the overage they charged me above and beyond the deal (they only went an hour over, and then charged me for materials, so I paid an additional 68 bucks) but we discussed this before I left and it was about what I expected it to be. I always want to make sure we're all on the same page before I leave workers. The place was SPOTLESS when they left. and I realized it was because they didn't sand any of the drywall mud. which isn't a huge deal, but there were some patches started that could have used a little sanding to smooth out. I can see some of the troweling in one of them, but honestly it's fine. but that's the only reason I gave them a "B" in this area. because it wasn't PERFECT...but pretty darn close. We're getting ready for a huge amount of work in the other part of the house, so it was nice to try these contractors out. I would definitely contact them for a quote for the other work, and probably hire them.

He did everything he said he would do and some extra things. Screwed up the whole downstairs ceiling before texturizing and priming it. Put up all the new drywall and blended it in with the old drywall. I found one area that didn't blend in and they came back right away to fix it. They cleaned all their mess up and hauled it away. I hired John about 2 years ago for a different house and was very pleased. That's why I called him when I wanted work done on my house. If I need drywall work done again I'll call John to hire him again.

Purchased Big Deal from Angie's List for 4 hours of drywall service. We were having new light fixtures and an exhaust fan installed and wanted to have the ceilings patched afterwards. After we purchased the Big Deal, Regal Drywall contacted us through Angie's List messaging. They were ready to set a date for the drywall work, but as we had not yet purchased the items to be installed on our ceilings, we asked to leave the date for the drywall work initially open. Regal told us "no problem," and then checked back in a few weeks to see if we were ready to schedule. We weren't at that time, but when we contacted them the following week with the date we were having our electrical work done, they suggested we schedule drywall work for the 2nd day following the electrical work, in case the electrician took an extra day. Very good planning, which we wouldn't have even thought of. They came out on the date scheduled, got right to work -- spreading out tarps to catch any drywall mud, repaired cracks and spacing around two replacement light fixtures, patched a good-sized area where we installed a square fan/light in our bathroom that replaced a rectangular fan, and took care of two small wall repairs. They left the mud to dry and returned on the date we set for sanding, once again keeping their work area clean -- work was performed in our bathroom, kitchen, and dining room and no dust was left behind! The cracks are gone and you can't even see that a 3" x 6" hole in our bathroom ceiling was ever there. Great job. We are very pleased.

We're remodeling a bathroom and kitchen. John came out and gave us a very reasonable estimate in a timely manner. Regal put in some new drywall and refinished some existing drywall. The existing drywall posed quite a challenge as we had removed old wallpaper and it had left the drywall in fairly rough shape. Regal handled the challenge with ease. Although it took a few applications to smooth out the old drywall surface, Regal put in the extra time to ensure that it was done right and well. Our old fixtures had damaged the ceiling in some places and Regal patched these areas to look like new. The communication with the owner/employees was smooth and the crew was very responsive. The walls/ceiling look great. We're very happy with the work done by Regal and are having them back in a few weeks to work on another project for us!

The crew/team were professional and job was done on time. The only complaint I have is that you can still see the tape lines in four areas they taped /textured. I used a high grade primer (Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3), but the primer didn't hide the tape visibility. Additionally, one of the guys broke my hanging light in my dining room. I was outside and heard one of them say "crap" really loud but did not notice the light until I was doing the clean up a day later. I didn't see it happen but I suspect that's what the noise was about.

We were unable to hire regal drywall because they never got back to us with a quote and I was very disappointed in their communication and professionalism. I initially contacted John (the owner) by phone at the end of September for a quote but never heard back. We were hoping to have some work done at the end of October. Then I wrote an email and still did not hear back. At this point I should have cut my losses, I agree, however we really needed the service done, and the other reviews on Angie's list were so good I thought this was an aberration. On 10/15 I purchased the big deal to put towards our work. We still did not hear back from them. Finally, in the first week of November, I called John again. This time he answered and informed me that he could come by to look at the job later that week. We were already behind schedule so I was hoping this work could begin promptly. He told me the job would cost in the range of $2000 and that he would get an estimate to me later that day. We were dismayed because this was much more that expected, but were still hoping to get an estimate as we needed to proceed with the work. We never did receive an estimate from John and after another phone call to request a bid, we decided to go with another company who completed our work in the next week. As as side note, they were $500 cheaper than the verbal quote that Jon gave me. Several weeks later on 11/17, George from Regal Drywall called and left a message telling me that they would like to "come by our project to give us a bid". When I contacted them to let them know that we had gone with another drywall company due to their lack of response, they immediately got back to me (for the first time!), informing me that I had not requested a quote from them and that we had spoken after our meeting and I had said that we didn't want to proceed with the work! I was shocked as this was blatantly untrue and this alleged conversation did not occur. We have requested a refund from Angie's list for the big deal and would not look to Regal Drywall again for any type of work.

Two guys showed up on time and reviewed the work area and answered all my questions. Very polite and knowledgeable about the questions we asked. We agreed on the areas to be repaired and a small price adjustment for an extra we requested relating to a peeling seam on the drywall. They taped everything off, erected a visqueen barrier around the work area and then executed the work, which was a fairly small job and completed within the two hour window we had (four hours of labor service deal). We received the quote for the additional work and discussed some paint color options. The price for the painting was significantly higher than we expected, but we decided it was better to have a completed project than only half way done and we requested that they contact us for scheduling. Shortly thereafter we got a message that everyone was sick in their office and they were taking a couple of days off. And then we just never heard from them again. The work they did was good quality work. Their timeliness and professionalism during the appointment was perfect. I suspect that we were just too small of a job to really catch their interest in following up on the painting, which also accounts for the price being far higher than anticipated. I've marked that I would use this provider again - and that is true; for any work we do in the future I would consider a quote from them and would award them the work if it met the price and time restrictions.

The paint that I had purchased clearly didn't match and the painter, instead of doing just the flat part of the window sill, painted 2 inches up the sides. That meant that I was forced to hire them or someone to do a significant paint job. I spoke with the owner and agreed to pay them an additional $500 to finish the job (painting just the window frames). He said he would bring the paint. I worried to him about the paint matching, three times even, but he brought paint that is a clear mismatch.

I called them and they came and bid the job up to 1100 on top of the coupon. I called around and got a much more competitive bid.

Nice guys, extremely courteous and professional. No upselling, or being slowly, just in and out and done.

Regal drywall performed an excellent repair job, in a reasonable amount of time. The finish work was excellent. They were very professional on the phone and worked to schedule me within a few weeks. Very nice crew.

It took a little while before we were able to use the deal. It was about four weeks after we purchased it. There were additional charges beyond the big deal amount. It was about $1100 extra. They did well. It was a lot more than I was hoping to pay.

Work was well done, workers were professionsl and friendly. My only concern is the deal stated that additional work would cost $25/hr. We needed additional work done and were charged considerably more than that for the sevice provided.

Got a "Big Deal" for 4 man hours. They repaired a ceiling crack which I have tried to repair several times. They secured the drywall to the joists which seems to be a permanent fix. It took 2 trips. They were prompt, courteous and left the area clean. Very happy with the work.

It worked out very well! They were cheap and did good work. My interaction with them was fine. There were additional charges beyond the big deal amount. The total cost came to $190. They were a little bit late.

I got 3 bids from drywall contractors and selected Regal as their bid was attractively lower than competitors. At the moment it would seem that the pro drywall finishers of Seattle are quite busy, and the bidding is not as competitive as it was 5-6 years ago, I ended up paying more than what I had estimated for the work, but my estimate was based on my past understanding of square foot prices for whole house new construction, expect to pay more per square foot for a smaller job. The perf sqft price for my job came out to $4.08 /sf. including a rolled-on coat of pva primer. I am happy with the results of the work. The quality I will describe as "professional industry standard". The work was completed very quickly.

They repaired several drywall problems (holes from electrical work) and put a texture on our kitchen/dining/living room ceilings and painted them. Superb people and work. They were very careful to protect our furniture and floors, had very good attitudes, and did a great job. We were also pleased with the price.

I cannot provide reviews on the quality of work since they haven't contacted me to set up an appointment, but I can tell you what they did not do and why I would not recommend them. I purchased a Big Deal for Regal Drywall on 10/15. On 10/23 I received an email from the company that their crew had the flu and wouldn't be contacting me until 10/28 to set up an appointment (I don't understand how having the flu prevents you from contacting customers to schedule an appointment). I received an email on 10/26 requesting my phone number to schedule an appointment and I responded within an hour with my phone number; I have yet to hear back from the company to set up an appointment. Based on their lack of professionalism and responsiveness, I would not want them performing any work on my house.

We purchased the Angie's list deal and waited several days for the contractor to call us. When he finally called, I asked that he call my mother to coordinate the job with her. He didn't. I called him back and asked again that he call my mother. He did, then set up an appointment that he missed. He sent an email via Angie's list alerting all clients that he and his crew had the flu and would not be able to work until October 28th. That was the last we heard from him.

This was a "Big Deal" for 4 hours of sheetrock repair. I had some water damage which John repaired and spent the rest of the time getting the room ready to paint...repairing cracks, nail pops, nail holes, etc. His co worker spent the time taping the windows and woodwork for painting. They were here for 2 hours to fulfill the 4 hours of labor. They did a great job. I was going to have them come back and paint but the estimate for painting was too high.

We purchased a deal through Angie's list for 4 man hours of dry wall for $130 after having new pipes and electrical installed. We had many holes that needed filling (about 10-15) a large section of ceiling that needed small sections cut to size, an area around our baseboard about 20' x 1' that needed patching, as well as an entire wall around our electrical panel. We were completely impressed with the work they did. We knew that there would be more work than would just fit within the 4 hours so we were prepared to pay more if they were available to finish it. Luckily they were awesome enough to move their later appointment and stick around and finish everything at the discounted price of the voucher. They even mudded it all! We are so happy to have walls again after a long summer & fall of renovations and it looks beautiful. I highly recommend them!
