Motor was burned out. Got another one. A good service.

Called to discuss problem prior to coming and brought part he thought would fix the problem. He was booked more than a week out, so very happy he could fix in one visit.

These folks have always been my go-to appliance repair company. They have always returned calls promptly, showed up on time, done a good job and charged a fair price. I'm pretty sure they must have changed hands, because this is no longer true. I called a couple months ago to get the gasket on our front load washing machine changed again, and no one called me back. I called again, thinking maybe the message didn't make it to them. I eventually received a voicemail -- 10 days after I called the second time -- from a young man who apparently didn't know why I had called them. My guess is that Fred and Deb have retired and passed their their business on to a son or other young person who has yet to develop the professionalism necessary to run a successful business. I'm so bummed!

Great service and on time with delievery

Our Kenmore front-load washer was making a loud noise and we suspected the bearing was kaput. I called Value Appliance Service and mentioned this and asked the person who answered the phone what a bearing replacement would cost. She said it could run 200 to 300 dollars, though this was not understood to be a hard estimate. I would probably not pay more than about $300 to repair this machine, and I guess I knew that the repair service would estimate on the low side so as not to lose the service call. The actual estimate was $396 (not including tax). The service call was $54, incl tax and we did get an opinion on what to buy, most importantly - generally speaking front loaders result in more service calls than top loaders. On the whole I would say the experience was good, but not great. In the case of front loaders, if you are trying to decide on service vs replacement you have to consider the total cost, including the initial visit of $50, plus something like $396 not including tax. And also, of course, that there is always a chance that that loud noise is not a bad bearing.

Over several weeks we were lead to believe they would make repairs to our mixer. After 4 weeks they determined they were unable to repair the mixer. They charged us a minimum repair charge. We were disappointed but understood their position but it seemed to take longer than necessary.

They were prompt to respond, showed up exactly during the time frame they promised, fixed it without delay, and charged less than I expected.

We had purchased an oven on Craig's list and after turning it on the first time were driven from our house due to the overwhelming horrible smell. We had to call the gas company but it wasn't a gas leak so the next day I called this company out of the yellow pages. The nice woman who answered said it most likely had mice living in the insulation and we could replace the insulation but there may be damage to the wiring and she would advise returning the oven. She answered a few more questions so patiently and knowledgeably, it was a very nice silver lining to the unfortunate incident.

I called to describe the problem, provide the dryer's make and model number and schedule an appointment. They verified that they had the parts that were probably needed and committed to a day and a two-hour time range. They showed up within the promised time range and fixed the dryer for a reasonable price. It's been two months now and the dryer is running fine.
