We installed an amazing topless railing system manufactured by Innovative Aluminum. This system exceeds Washington States IBC AC 273 code requirements. It has been engineered, tested and installed in countless homes and businesses across the country. It looks awesome. All St. John Glass needed to do was measure and supply the tempered glass. The estimator came out and did an initial pre measure for the purpose of a quote. The quote came in a few dollars below the other bid, but we liked the professionalism of the estimator so chose to move ahead with them. The estimators came back to do an exact measure for what was required including completing the templates for the stairs. They appeared to be knowledgeable and I was confident we would not have any issues. A few weeks later, on the date promised, the glass was delivered to site. Unfortunately a number of the panels were measured incorrectly and St. John's glass reluctantly accepted responsibility for the errors and remade the pieces that did not fit. A few weeks later they came to install this second batch of glass. With exception to two pieces which again were made incorrectly, everything else fit nicely. This time, rather than accept responsibility for their error they tried to blame it on the railing system, the wind, movement of the building etc. They were aggressive, defensive and rude. Swearing, shouting, finger pointing..... They maintained that the glass provided was more than adequate (both pieces were too short). Needing to order a glass shower door at a later time I left the "more than adequate" pieces in place. Fast forward 2 months and having just had our first storm, one of the short panels popped out and smashed. I contacted St John glass to inform them and see if they would accept responsibility and now replace the both panels. Unfortunately this resulted in the same defensive and rude behavior seen earlier. There are many other glass companies in town to choose from, I recommend you use someone else.

I found their ad for windows and it included "fogged windowpane repair" so I called them. I'd explored replacing my windows - most of the vinyl window seals had failed and everything was foggy. I hated not being able to see out. Some of the frames were out of true and leaked air as well. Ricky came and looked at my job the very next day, and gave me a bid that was less than the cost of replacing two of the windows. He promised not to trash my garden getting to the windows, and offered a 20 year guarantee plus low-e on the windows. He said he'd adjust the frames while he was at it. I went for it! They were back to do the work less than a week later, and did a lovely job. I'm thrilled at being able to see out, and delighted with both price & quality. I asked if they might be able to wash a couple upstairs panes that were not being replaced while they were up there, and they very kindly did that. All frames were adjusted so they fit properly. And they didn't hurt my garden at all, and they left everything clean behind themselves. We also didn't add those darn vinyl frames to local land-fill. It's a win for the environment too. I had no idea it was possible to replace only the window pane units. I put up with no view for over a decade because I thought I couldn't afford to fix the problem. These folks are GREAT!
Description of Work: They replaced every single fogged up window pane in my home!

We took in two screens for replacement. Very quick turn around. But when we took them home, neither fit. We had taken the original torn screens in so it wasn't a measuring problem on our in. I immediately called in hopes that they hadn't thrown the originals away. The person on the phone actually got into an argument with me about whether or not they fit. I wasn't even angry about it - I know mistakes can happen. Inconvenienced yes, but not angry. Took the "new" ones back and talked with another person (who I believe is the owner) and while he wasn't yelling he was as rude as the original person. We took the new screens in the shop and laid them on top of the old ones and it was OBVIOUS that they were off in width. Not a lot but enough to not fit. Since the original ones fit tightly (as we'd told them) there was no room for the new ones to be ANY larger. The owner's comment on seeing the difference, and I quote, "Oh, COME ON." Not once did anyone say, "well, let's take care of it. I'm sorry you had to come back. We'll make it right." They acted like we were out of line for asking them to fix it. My adult daughter went back the next day to pick them up and heard the man we think was the owner say to the man at the counter, "if they come back again, CHARGE THEM." Good grief. He doesn't need to worry, we won't be back. This is a GLASS SHOP - where one would think they would recognize the significance of even a minor a miss-cut. We have no complaint about the price or the speed.
