 + -1 moreHe came out immediately and tracked down the problem that Xfinidy put a screw threw multiple wires causing the problem and got the power back working very quickly, within 3 hours. He was very detail and explained everything as he was going.
Description of Work: Had popping and smoke coming out of plug, lights were going crazy. I shut off the power before the house caught on fire. Xfinidy was doing work on the cable box at that time. This all happened on Saturday late afternoon.

 + -1 moreBritt did an amazing job of rewiring out 1920s home. It had the original knob and tube still present and needed a complete rewiring. He was able to start the work quickly and worked efficiently/hard to finish within a week and a half. He was professional and easy to work with and did the work for a very reasonable cost. I am an extreme procrastinator, so it has been over three years since he did this work. This actually makes my review more valuable; I have had no electrical issues whatsoever over the last three years. I think this proves his work is high quality.
Description of Work: Complete rewire of a 1920s craftsman home, including adding many new light fixtures, outlets, GFCI circuits in the kitchen and bathroom, new breaker box, etc.

 + 0 moreIt went very well! I am leery of having new folks come in to do work, but Britt was so professional. He worked quickly and was quite courteous.
Description of Work: We needed two ceiling lights replaced. We also had recessed lights in the kitchen looked at as they constantly blinked. There were two timer switches that we could not figure out, too. He also replaced two smoke alarms that were not working right. Britt is quite pleasant, professional and prompt. He explained our options and how to save money with a different type of recessed light. We will definitely have Britt do any work that we need to have done in the future. Great job!

 + -1 moreSome details: - We agreed to do the job on a time and materials basis as the structure was complex and there were quite a few unknowns. Britt estimated $5 - $7k. The final bill came in at the very low end of his estimate. For anyone who's ever done a remodel, this is nothing short of a miracle. - He communicated very well throughout the process and always showed up exactly when he said he would. - He was fast and efficient. I was always impressed with how much he accomplished each day. - He is very skilled in his trade... that was obvious immediately. - Passed inspection with no issues whatsoever. - I'd hire him again without hesitation.
Description of Work: New wiring of 600 sq. ft. addition plus lots of re-routing / re-wiring within existing structure.

 + -1 moreDo not hesitate to call Britt! I contacted him to remove a very broken vanity light in my 1906 bathroom and replace it with an outlet. I mentioned I would be putting a cupboard in that bathroom and also had concerns about adding some shelving in my laundry room near my electrical panel. After quickly, and perfectly removing the light and installing the outlet I showed him where the panel was (thinking he could just tell what directions the wires ran) but he offered to install the shelving for me and the cupboard in the bathroom! The fact that Britt wasn't above doing simple handyman work and offered to help made my day! Three cheers for Britt!
Description of Work: Took out existing broken light fixture my bathroom, installed an outlet in its place, went above and beyond in helping install shelving in my laundry room and a cupboard in the bathroom!

Britt was personable and let us know costs up front. Britt was willing to talk with us about different possibilities in regard to our installation and thinking about possible additions in the future. Britt was always concerned about the safety of our electrical system and made sure that other contractors worked to code. Britt helped us think through the placement of fixtures, outlets, appliances, switches, etc. We would recommend Britt for other jobs and have his number on file for any future work we might need.
Description of Work: We started with Britt to do a re-wiring for our new electric dryer that needed a 220 outlet. We were impressed with Britt's service and attention to detail so we continued with Britt when we needed to do a complete install of our new guest house construction. Britt performed the entire new install which included working with other contractors and PSE. We also had Britt change out our old service panel as well as install the electrical work for heat pumps for our house, the guest house, and our studio. Britt also did many small jobs around our houses/studio to make the electric system safer and work better (bad outlets, confusing wiring due to previous contractor, balancing loads).

He started at 8am and was done by noon. I was thoroughly impressed. He also gave us peace of mind about this weird issue in our basement (turns out it's not so weird). He was also a nice guy, professional and amicable. We know who we're going to call the next time we need an electrician.

 + -1 moreNever got that far. Talking to him was a complete waste of time--I wasn't going to waste more time.
Description of Work: I could not talk to Britt about the job or a time to come out. The job basically consists of installing two or three additional outlets along one wall--which happens to be the same wall where the circuit breaker already exists. I explained the job to him more than three times and the job he envisioned wasn't even close to what I told him I wanted. He estimated that this would be an all day job (which was not even close), I told him no--perhaps half a day and explained the job again. He was also unhappy about having to "schedule it in" because I am only available in the afternoons. Neither the job nor scheduling seems like it should warrant a 20 minute conversation, so when it became clear that I had to start into the same explanation that I had already given three times I thanked him for his time and hung up.
