We are current members of the Building Industry Association of Washington, Skagit & Island Counties Builders Association, Bellingham Chamber of Commerce and are proud to be an Accredited Better Business Bureau Member as well. We've probably already painted one of your neighbors' homes, and we can't wait to become your painter as well!
We are licensed as a General Contractor, so it never hurts to ask us to do something. If we do not believe we would be the best ones to do so, we will let you know and refer you to a professional that we would trust to work on our own home.

Troy was very professional when I first met him. I liked him right away. The bid was fair and he could do the work in my time frame. The only problem is that that was about the last I heard from Troy. After I accepted his bid and sent in a deposit, he was very difficult to contact. I also assumed that he would do the work. He simply contracts with other painters and has them do the work. The person who did the work was capable, but cut corners. I felt that Troy should have been paying better attention to the work. I finally was able to contact him, and he said to just tell the painter what I wanted fixed. I was not happy with this answer because #1 I am not a professional painter and don't really know what to expect, and #2 Troy hired the guy and shouldn't expect me to supervise him. Troy finally showed up one morning and looked over the progress of the job and noted many problems (prep work mostly). He took photos and said he would send them to the painter. The painter showed up and was not happy with Troy's suggestions and basically ignored them. The painter left all of the paint debris (empty cans, sheet plastic, etc.) scattered about the property and in the garage. I tried to contact Troy to get the job finished as the realtor's photographer was coming to take pictures, but was unsuccessful after many attempts. I finally cleaned the debris up myself and hauled it off to the dump. I never heard from him again, but did get his final bill in the mail. I will say that the project was done on time. The painter was a very affable, helpful guy who gave me a lot of useful tips for painting the inside of the house. My frustration was that Troy stops communicating. He doesn't check on the job as it progresses (unless nagged), and seems uninterested in the work once he has the contract. I would never hire him again and wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

The owner was very nice and professional. He was very knowledgeable about the home painting business and gave a very reasonable estimate for the job. After signing the contract and making the down payment, we didn't hear from them for for a month, and that was only after sending them an e-mail asking about scheduling and giving them some dates we would be unavailable. We signed the contract in April, they responded to the message in May acknowledging the unavailable dates. They did not finally show up to paint until August. We understand that getting scheduled with other contracts they had in the summer is a waiting game, but 5 months in a summer where the weather was so good is a excessive, especially, since we were one of the first people to sign contracts with them this year. The communication with them was very poor, we were told the air conditioners would need to turned off to pressure wash and while they spray painting, which is fine, except they still didn't give a specific day or time the workers were going to show. As a matter of fact, my wife walked outside one day and there they were, and no one had even knocked on the door to let her know they were here. This happened nearly each day they were here. they came did work and then we wouldn't see them for a day or two, then they we be here again. Each time, no notice of when they would arrive and what work would be done. Once they were done and we were inspecting the work, we found numerous holes where a second coat was needed. Big patches that were very visible including on the gutters. Overall, the job was done very poorly and we have had the owner and worker out at least three times. They still did not fix several problems they came out to specifically fix. In fact, we had post it notes on a number of spot needing to be fixed, the post its were taken down and the problem areas are still there. They have offered to have the owner come out again, but at this point we will probably fix the ones we can ourselves. We are still not happy with the work performed and expected much better from this company. On a positive note, the owner and the one worker we dealt with were very nice and personable. The workers even fixed a broken hose bib when they painted, which I do appreciate, because they could have ignored it. The communication with the owner and their responsiveness to correcting problems was very poor, and when they did respond the issues were not fixed properly. I do no not recommend this company to anyone thinking about hiring them.

We really like the job that the crew from Paint the Town did and we really appreciate all the help from the owner. All through the process from the very beginning he kept us informed of what was going on and was a lot of help in the decisions we had to make such as colors and just what kind of paint to use. The crew that did the actual painting was very professional and also kept us informed as to what they were doing and why. The final price was a fair one and we are extremely happy with the result and would not hesitate to use Paint the Town again.

We had a fantastic experience with Chris and his painting crew. They gave us good bids, helped us with color design and selection and managed a two stage interior paint job, with stages being several months apart. The painting quality turned out amazingly well, the painters were always exactly on time, cleaned up well and our walls and trim look fabulous. I highly recommend working with this company, we had a great experience with Chris and his crew!

We were pleased with the young man who initially did the estimate. He seemed earnest and attentive to detail. However, when the painting began we quickly became disappointed with this company. When they did the scraping and sanding, they left chips all over the yard and decks even though the salesman said they would do a clean up. When we complained we were told they meant a small clean up and what was left was expected. Even so, we had them come back and clean up. Although they said that gutters would be painted, when it came to actually doing it they balked. I was told that you can't paint metal gutters because the paint would flake off. I went to our local paint store and was told that wasn't true and there was a primer that had to be used first. When I told the owner, he agreed with me just as if he had never told me it couldn't be done. This happened with several other details. I would be told it wasn't possible or didn't need to be done. I would check with the paint store and be told it had to be done and how. Then I would tell the owner and he would agree to do it. It seemed he wanted to cut corners if possible. If finally got done with some arguing over quality and threats to Better Business Bureau, but it was a hassle and unpleasant. There is significant bubbling of paint in a number of areas but we prefer to deal with this ourselves rather than having them fix it. I felt sorry for his workers. They were nice guys but pushed to do a quick job and had to work long days.
Description of Work: This company did a great job of selling themselves as quality. They prepped, primed and painted the exterior of our small two story house.

I found Paint the Town at the local Home Show in March. The house had not been kept up by the previous owners and was in need of some TLC. Troy and his crew were great. They were on time and cleaned up after themselves daily. It took 3 or 4 paint samples more than I thought, but we came up with a great color for the house and a wonderful red for my deck! They put up with my Yorkie giving orders and occasionally trying to take Max out at the ankles. They did a great job inside with the ceilings, I have new wood floors that came through without a drop of paint, they masked everything to keep any overspray contained. Everyone, Larry, Jose, Max and Greg were professional and easy to work with. I'd do it again in a minute, but won't have to in the near future...this paint job should last for a while.
Description of Work: My house was pressure washed, then calked and primed. Full coat of paint with second coat on south facing side of house. All trim, eaves and fascia along with doors were included. I also had my deck pressure washed and painted with 2 coats. I am remodeling so had Paint the Town also come in and prime and paint the ceiling in my kitchen/family room. These are old "popcorn" ceilings that I had re-textured and repaired before the painting was done.

Troy's bid was not the lowest but very good and proved to be the best for the money. He and his crew arrived as promised and continued daily (including the Sat. & Mon. of Memorial Day weekend) until the job was complete. Troy was very helpful and patient with color selection and all work professionally done. He was very thorough inspecting his crew's work and promptly corrected all problems encountered. The only minus was that 2 or 3 shrubs next to the house were not covered completely and had some paint spray on them.
Description of Work: Complete exterior house painted, including full pressure wash, caulk, prep, prime coat on all trim and fascia. Three colors of paint and solid color stain used on 2 1/2 story split level house with Hardy siding, cedar side shingles, wood trim/fascia + 3 wood decks w/stairs and railings.
