INTERIOR DOORS & MORE

Description of Work: We purchased two doors from Steve Quast at Interior Doors and More. Steve was quite personable and very knowledgeable about their products. The doors were delivered on the date promised. The front door had a noticeable gouge on the inside of it. This was pointed out at the time of delivery. The glass windows on the door were also smudged from the clear stain they applied to it. I spent an hour trying to remove the smudges to no avail. When I informed Steve of this he told me he would have someone come out and fix the small gash and clean up the windows. The back door had a problem with one panel being lighter in color than the rest of the door. Steve came to the house to inspect it and agreed that it needed to be replaced. He ordered a new door shortly after. In the mean time no one called to arrange a time to fix the two issues with the front door.I was asked to pay the total invoice amount and I said I would hold out about $900 until the back door was replaced and the two issues on the front door were addressed satisfactorily. Shortly after that I received an email from Interior Doors and More stating that the payment was overdue. I replied to the billing agent and forwarded all of my email correspondence. They then replied okay and we would not have to pay the remaining balance until the job was completed. About a week that I sent a reminder email to Steve that nothing had yet been done about the front door. My email was never answered. Finally, on September 11th, three months after the doors were installed, the replacement back door arrived and was satisfactorily installed. I then sent another reminder that I would not be sending the remaining balance until the front door issue was resolved and that I had paid a professional window washer to remove the stubborn smudges from the glass. Several days later I received an email from Steve asking if he could come out and fix the gash. He came out and applied three coats of lacquer to the gash, which did not fill it in but did improve the looks of it. He told us the only way to make it perfect was to take the door into the shop, sand it all down, re stain it and reinstall it. At that point I said we will live with it the way it is. He did reimburse us for the cost of the window washer. This whole thing could have been totally avoided if Steve had chosen to communicate and fix the smudges and the small gash in a timely manner. Three months after the door was installed is NOT a timely manner.

Description of Work: We built a large house with lots of doors & trim work. Inter Doors & More sent out a sales person who was very knowledgeable & helped to walk us thru each door to ensure that we got exactly what we needed in regard to style, swing, size, right hardware... There were a couple of glitches in the order, but they promptly resolved them. No complaints, would use them again.

Description of Work: I was provided with exceptional prefinished interior trim. They came to the job measured the project, completed an estimate, and delivered the material to the job site.
