Highline Construction & Interiors

We used Highline construction for a remodel of the main floor of our home. It was a complete remodel of 1450 square feet that included a full new kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, removal of a wood burning fireplace and installation of a gas fireplace in a different location, and generally reconfiguring the whole layout of the space. Highline came recommended to us from our architect. Trevor and his team worked hard to get an accurate plan for the whole project at the start, and once the project started they were able to to stick very close to that plan. We were lucky to not encounter any major issues when they tore into the walls and we finished almost exactly on time and on budget. We found them to be easy to work with throughout the project, when we knew exactly what we wanted they found a way to make it happen and when we weren't so sure how we wanted to handle a particular detail they helped come up with a solution that worked for us. They were easy to communicate with throughout the project and very responsive to any concerns we had along the way. We lived downstairs during the renovation, and every worker was respectful of us living downstairs during the process. Our finished home is beautiful and just what we wanted. We had a great experience using Highline Construction and highly recommend them for your project.

Trevor's team replaced all the doors (interior and exterior), millwork, door hardware, and rebuilt the bannister in the stairwell (which was falling apart). His team worked quickly and was professional. They did an excellent job and went above and beyond what we hired them to do. The house looked a million times better after they were finished and sold the first day we put it on the market.

They were not interested. They are the ones that did not want the job, so they overbid it. They did come out to the house. They were not as timely as I would have liked. They were very professional, and very polite. What can I say. They were on time for the appointment. They looked at the job, and they were professional about it.

Excellent. They did a great job very efficiently. The level of communication and responsiveness was high and Trevor was flexible about small changes to the project. I recommend them highly.

They came in and put in a bid to frame a roof which was at least twice as high as the highest bid i had on the project

We hired Highline Construction for two jobs. The first was to do some soffit and fascia repairs on our rental. This was a time and materials job. The head carpenter, Ben, kept us informed on every aspect of the repair job. When rot was discovered, and we decided to go with a new roof, the owner Trevor quickly found a roofing company to do the job. Everything was done in a timely manner, and the workers were hard working, fast and efficient. The second job was the construction of a new carport. This was a fixed price job. The owner Trevor was very responsive to any questions we had. He answered emails and phone calls promptly. The two carpenters were very hard working, polite, friendly and respectful. Honestly, it was really nice to have such nice guys doing the work. We never felt that I had to keep and eye on them The lead carpenter, Ben, was very knowledgeable, and put a lot of thought into all the aspects of the work. He frequently asked for our input, and gave thoughtful, considered answers to any questions we had. The owner, Trevor, is very a straight forward, honest and responsible person. We had excellent communication with him throughout the whole repair and construction process. I highly recommend this company, and will hire them again for any future work.

After talking with them about it, they explained that it would probably be cheaper for me to contact and work with "a tile place". He said they could do the job, but they'd have to hire a tile person, and that would end up costing me more. I appreciated the honesty.

Trevor and the crew at Highline construction completed three different jobs for us. We were so happy with the quality of the first job we kept asking him to do more. Deck posts - when they ran into some unforeseen circumstances Trevor came up with an alternative that actually cost less money so he gave me a partial credit. That does not happen often. When the job was finished we found an issue that was due to the original design of the deck. Trevor came back and fixed that too which meant re-doing some of his original work. Cedar decking - Trevor and another carpenter did the work and the quality was flawless. I wanted to use a certain type of hidden fasteners and Trevor was willing to give it a try and even went and bought the required jigs. The end result was fantastic. Exterior handrail - we needed a handrail for a 50 ft section of path. Trevor looked at different designs with me and recommended a custom fabricator in the area. We had the railing custom made and Highline came back and installed it in the ground with cement. It was down a slope and had a few different curves so took some care to get it right. Of course the end result was perfect which was important because it is at the front of the house. The crew noted that the path was now a mess with all the digging so they brought in new gravel to make it better than before. They even patched up my driveway in a few spots with the leftovers! In all cases, the crew was very professional and polite. We would definitely recommend Highline construction to anyone looking for a contractor that does quality work.

This was a large, complicated project. The house was originally built in 1947 and was added onto in 1952 and again in the 1960's. It had been my family's home growing up and I bought it from my parents about 15 years ago when they were too old to take care of it. Prior to beginning this project the house was classic 1960's/70's decor: Gold wall to wall carpet, dark wood paneling, white kitchen appliances, and baby blue fixtures in the bathrooms. Ugh. There was also a separate project of removing an old shed on the hill behind the house and replacing it with a pole building. I had hired another firm that specializes in pole buildings to do that part. Highline's work involved a complete gut of the house, new roof, floors, deck, plumbing, electrical, and adding a patio in the back. Nine months later, here I am with a fabulous new home - I can say without equivocation that working with Trevor and his crew from Highline was a fantastic experience. All of them: Trevor, Josh, Ben, Jeff, Brandon, and Priscilla, were top notch, skilled and knowledgeable professionals. These guys really know what they are doing. Trevor is an incredibly conscientious guy and went out of his way to check in and make certain that I was happy every step of the way. In addition to the work of Trevor & crew, he brought in subs to do the roof, deck, plumbing, electrical, & custom glass for the bathrooms as well as a crew for the "dirt work" They all did a great job and were a pleasure to work with. Were there problems? Sure, as can be expected with a project this complex, there were a few surprises but he always had a plan to deal with them, and in one case where we had a miscommunication between us he volunteered to cover the cost of returning some materials without me even asking him to. I know this review probably sounds unbelievably glowing, but it really was a great experience working with them. I can recommend them unequivocally, and should the need arise I would hire them again in a second.

Overall highline construction were very professional and the quality of work was outstanding. The deck was made with tiger wood and presented some challenges being a hard wood. Trevor and crew did a great job and the deck looked great when it was finished. Trevor went out of his way to go the extra mile. When he needed to take materials to dump, he took some of my building materials that were not part of the project. Trevor took the extra gravel for the deck and spread the gravel on the front driveway. There was a couple of hiccups. There was a delay for a week because of other commitments of highline. And then the supplier messed up on rails which took another week. We talked about doing some stamped concrete between the two decks. It was going to take a month or more to pour the concrete because highline was committed to another project. Trevor communicated to me before the deck project that he had this other project he was committed to and I was okay with it. Trevor recommended his concrete guy and gave he me his number and name to start the concrete project at a sooner date. He is coming back as soon as the concrete is poured to finish steps to the decks and to build a bench for one of the decks.

It went very well! We love our new kitchen! Our home is a 1932 craftsman. Nothing was straight or square. Trevor and his team leveled the ceilings and floors and made everything fit as thought it were new construction! Beautiful. There were a few minor hiccups as there are in most large jobs of this nature but Trevor responded to and made them right. He went out of his way to make sure that our concerns were taken care of and that the work was completed to our satisfaction. Very professional.

I recently hired Tevor Swezey of Highline Construction to replace a deck that was in poor repair. He provided a prompt, competitive, itemized bid such that I knew exactly what I was paying for. He and his team were friendly, prompt, hardworking and completed the job in a timely fashion. What I appreciated most was his team?s attention to detail, their desire to do the job right and their absolute craftsmanship to create a beautiful space which my family will be able to enjoy for years to come. I will highly recommend him to my friends and will contact him for any further construction projects.

Trevor was awesome. He is the best communicating contractor I've ever worked with or even heard of; he called regularly and always answered our calls with solid answers to every question that came up along the way. He provided upfront and fair estimates. Trevor did much of the work himself and was always on time, worked hard, and did quality work. On the work he hired subcontractors for (tile, refinishing floors) Trevor made sure they met all their deadlines, and we were also very happy with their work. We felt the price was very reasonable for what we accomplished. At the time Trevor was working through Devine Interiors off Meridian, which offered great prices and good selection. The only issue we had with the remodel was the lack of communication from Devine Interiors. The staff at Devine is friendly and the owners are really talented, but they are swamped and at times we could not get in touch with them to make decisions regarding hardware choices, paint colors, etc. Trevor was also helpful with acting as intermediary between them and us, however. As far as Trevor goes, we cannot recommend him highly enough!

Project was excellent from start to finish. Trevor is a great communicator and let us know at every step what was happening. He texted and called us at least once a day during the tight schedule and was very considerate of the fact that we we living in the house while the remodel was happening. He was patient and his subs were amazing, especially Byron his sub-contract painter. The work was completed on time and within the budget we discussed and agreed. Would and will hire Highline Construction in a heartbeat.

If the descriptor "Outstanding" was available on the "Ratings List", I would used it to describe the end product of Highline Construction's work. "We pay close attention to the details" could easily be adopted by Trevor for his company's motto. He prides himself in using the best of the sub-contractors during the construction process and always kept us informed as to each day's planned schedule. Our project included a full 225 square foot addition to the existing house that now serves as our "Florida Room". It involved removing a wall in the living room and providing access to an area full of windows and a sliding door leading to our patio. It has added to the open concept of the living area and totally blends into the original architectural design of the house. Personally, as a retired airport executive, I have had experience of working with numerous construction companies for projects during my career. Highline Construction, with Trevor's expertise, is at a level that compares with the best of them. Without a doubt, I would use Highline Construction and look forward to working with Trevor on any future project weather large or small.

Awesome! Trevor and his team were excellent to work with from the first phone call. I called several contractors listed in this category and Highline was the first to respond (within an hour or so) and was willing to come out the very next morning to give me an estimate. The estimate was thorough and complete with a nice itemized listing. After reviewing a couple other estimates, we decided to go with Highline and we are so glad we did. The work was completed in a timely fashion, they even got started a couple of days ahead of schedule and everyone was very courteous and punctual. We are thrilled with our new space. It turned out better than we had expected and came in very close to our original estimate. The only additional costs were upgrades and minor changes that we requested along the way. Those change orders were professionally addressed with a "change order form" explaining the cost for the adjustment. They were happy to accommodate our requests which included the addition of a mantel over the fireplace, extra nice carpeting and some extra electrical work. We would definitely recommend Trevor and his team to friends and family. We feel that we got a very fair deal for the work preformed and the whole experience was smooth. Great job Highline!

Trevor completed the job in a timely fashion with attention to detail. He cleaned up the work area each day and left no messes.The quality of the finished work was outstanding. He added many nice high end touches to go above and beyond to provide an awesome result. Two bathrooms were totally gutted and redone with all new tile shower's, tile floors and vanities. One bathroom was converted to an Handicapped accessible Slate tiled shower with a large double swing Glass Door. The results were Beautiful and functional. The handicapped access wheel chair ramp was beautifully done with a safety cable rail system. The wheel chair ramp looks like a fine piece of furniture with beautiful wood finishes.

Trevor and his team are beyond excellent. The time and care that they put into my home was above and beyond. Let me start by saying Trevor came in with a bid less then half of my other two bids. He took on the job of my home as if it were his own home. He addressed any and all issues (and there were many) and he repaired all issues (rot etc) at a very fair cost in addition to our beginning bid. I was able to ask Trevor to do many extra jobs pertaining to my home because I valued his attention to detail on the original siding job. Trevor and Calvin not only did my siding meticulously but they took on building a deck, repairing any and all rot issues, replacing the facia, gutters, overseeing the painting of my home, installing a closet system, erecting a storage shed, rebuilding my front porch and many other little additional jobs. And the best part is they did it all to perfection. Trevor and Calvin were always on time, very professional, extremely approachable and I really enjoyed having them at my home. Trevor always responded to any of my calls or texts in a very timely manner. So, my review is if your looking for a very qualified, attention detailed, fairly priced contractor then Trevor is your go to guy. I know he is now on my speed dial. :)

Highline Construction completed a Trex deck on the front of our house after we removed the existing Sunwood deck. The bid was to construct the Trex deck using the existing joists. The work was completed on time and at the amount of the original bid. The quality of the work was excellent and the contractor was extremely professional and on time. Highline cleaned up the job sight when completed and was very informative and great to talk to. I would highly recommend Highline Construction for any deck jobs or home repair

Trevor and his team were extremely professional and punctual. They answered my questions with patience and expertise and also provided valuable insight into other issues I inquired about. The was pleased with the quality of the completed project. I felt we could trust Trevor and his team in our residence alone and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The whole project was completed on time to our agreed time frame of three weeks and on budget. There were no surprises, everything went very smooth. Picking out tile was the hard part for me but Trevor was very patient and very flexible and worked with me on every design detail to make this project a huge success.

Highline Construction was employed by me on three jobs. One involved a roof addition designed by an architect. He was reasonable, hard working, neat and accurate. He worked with the architect and offered some money saving ideas. The second project involved cutting a slab and excavating a large volume of dirt to connect a new sewer line. His work was code safe, accurate, reasonable and he worked well with the plumbing contractor and rebuilt the property that was excavated. The third job involved residing a house and managing a roofer. The job was completed in a very workmanlike manner, on time and as per bid.

I found Trevor to be communicative throughout the process. He is a very clean carpenter and went the extra mile to caulk around the edges and in places that weren't out in the open. His detail didn't go unnoticed upon inspecting the work. He even provided some recommendations I hadn't previously thought of. Trevor is a true professional, and one of the better remodeling contractor's I've seen in Whatcom County. I plan to hire him again on future remodeling projects.
