I called during the week to get an estimate for replacing the water line to my house. It had been repaired twice before so didn't want to fool around with leak detection, etc., but just go straight to replacement. The man on the phone said someone would call first, then be out on Friday evening between 5:00 and 6:00. I got home from grocery shopping at 4:00 pm. No call, no message, and no one showed up. I called the company again on Saturday and was told they had called at 3:00, so they would reschedule for the next day. Again i was told someone would call first, then be out between 12:00 and 2:00 pm. I was home all day, but again no call, no message, and no one showed up. They must not need my business.

The service technician (Jeff) arrived at the beginning of the promised time period, reviewed the work to be performed, and provided me with a written estimate. I agreed to the price proposed. He then went to get the needed materials and did his work. He was professional, efficient, and did high-quality work. The final bill agreed with the estimate (minus the Angie's coupon, of course). I am very satisfied with the service provided.

Called company on a Sunday afternoon when problem was discovered. They set up a Monday AM appointment which was good. Plumber arrived close to on time. Fairly quickly plumber discovered the problem and did the repair. All in all the job was done in approximately 1 1/4 hours. Unfortunately the plumber reeked of cigarette smoke which was very noticable. Also he continued to talk all the time to the point of being irritating. How he came up with the cost for the repair I have no idea - just said this is it. Job had to be done so not much we could do about it.

On a Sunday morning I noticed water leaking into my basement. It was right near a radiator heating pipe and bathroom plumbing pipes so I called Washington Heating and Plumbing around 8:30am and left a detailed message about what I was seeing and asking when they could help out since they did have hours listed as being open on Sunday. I was called back within the hour and through use of my camera phone and texting photos they were able to diagnose the problem as plumbing, as well as a non emergency situation. We made an appointment for them to come out the next day, Monday, and in the meantime I just put a bucket under the slow leak. They arrived prompt on Monday morning, and called me when they were 20 minutes away. He was professional and courteous and spent a great deal of time explaining to me exactly what was going on. The estimate was detailed and he explained what needed to be done to my incredibly ancient almost 100 year old plumbing. The existing plumbing was actually out of building code which my home inspector did not notice when I purchased the house unfortunately. After replacing the tub drain piping he tested for leaks again to ensure the work was done right. The drain pipe did not leak, however he noticed that the valve stems for the faucets were leaking back into the wall and the existing fixtures had been hiding that problem from inside of the bathroom. He gave us a temporary fix with plastic sheeting and will be returning to take the valve stems and get the new ones custom made for the sizing that is needed for the old plumbing. My house is very old with asbestos wrapped pipes, so he knew that replacing the entire pipe system was out of our current budget. He was willing to work with us by getting custom parts to fit what we currently have to stop the leaking until we can save the money we need to deal with the asbestos wrapped pipes. Owning an old house has had a lot of repair folks scoffing at us on why we haven't replaced everything, as most people don't understand when you just purchase a house that you can't always throw down an extra several thousand dollars on repairs right away. I appreciate it when someone works with me within my budget and doesn't treat me like a weirdo for not agreeing to replace everything. I also really appreciate the way he explained every little detail on what went wrong and how he would fix it. I know plumbing fixes aren't cheap, but you have to pay for quality work (as I have learned when dealing with the previous owners fixes in this house). I plan on continuing to use Washington Plumbing and Heating for upcoming projects because I really appreciate their professionalism and service.

Went well. Identified the problem quickly and fixed the problem quickly without needing to go get supplies elsewhere. Would recommend. Also liked the fixed cost nature so your not worrying about paying by the hour (or half hour, quarter hour) like many places.

Craig called me to tell me that he would be picking up parts on the way to my house and would arrive about 9:15, which he did. He worked efficiently. He showed me what he did and told me the pressure that should be in the water system. He was a good communicator. When he came to give me the estimate and told me what he would do, but he didn't say specifically where he would put the pipe that would go through the furnace room. When I looked at the completed job with him, he ran the white pipe down the middle of the area in front of the woodpile, suspended in the space, although secured to the wall on each side of the woodpile. I told him I was not happy with it's placement. On 1/14/13 I called Constantine the owner of Wash Plumbing and Heating, Inc. I told him I was unhappy with the placement of the pipes and would like him to come and give me his opinion. He made an appointment and upon looking where the pipes were positioned, he agreed that their placement would make it difficult to use the woodpile. He scheduled to return and run the pipes around the perimeter of the wood area, which he did for no charge. I am very happy with his responsiveness and a job done well.

This is the second time that we have used WA Plumbing and Heating and both times have been great experiences. I called at 11am and they were at our house by 4pm the same day. The person who answered the phone was pleasant and very helpful. The service person who came out was very professional and was able to diagnose the problem quickly. They planned to return the next day with a needed part for our very old furnace. The next day I received a phone call with an update on the price of the parts and a time that they would return. He arrived exactly when expected and had the unit working quickly. We will definitely use them again and will be recommending them to our friends and family.

The man who came out from Washington Plumbing and Heating was a nice guy. He got in our crawl space to look at our pipes and dishwasher hoses, made some suggestions for improving the way they'd been installed at the time the house was built 20 years ago. He said he'd give us an estimate on some under sink plumbing but never did. When I called to follow up, I was told they were sorry but had been very busy. They said they'd remind him to get us the estimate but we never heard from them. I wouldn't call them again simply because they didn't follow through which made me think they didn't care that much about our business.

We've used Washington Heating and Plumbing several times in the past several years and every single time has been fantastic. They always call to let you know when they're on their way (or if they're delayed at a prior job). They take their time to figure out what's happening, they explain what's happening, then they fix the problem. This last time was no different. I couldn't ask for anything more.
Description of Work: Our downstairs bathroom tub was backing up (filling with waste water), even when we weren't using it. Konstantine figured out what was happening (which drain pipes were connected to which other drain pipes around the house), snaked out the tub drain, and completely resolved the problem.

The water heater in our parent's home began leaking on Monday evening. When I called Konstantine on Tuesday, he set up a time to come out later that day to determine what needed to be done. It turns out the water heater was failing (had been installed in 1999) and needed to be replaced. There were some corroded galvenized vent pipes above the heater that he pointed out that also needed to be replaced to keep the gas water heater venting properly. The old water heater was drained and removed that day and, due to the lateness, Konstantine returned early the next day to install the new heater and replace the vent pipes. Konstantine was very pleasant and knowledgeable and kept us informed of the processes and options throughout the procedure. He was very conscious of the inconvenience of not having hot water in the house and made every effort to get things repaired/replaced quickly. There was a question about the need for getting a permit for the job and when we decided to do so, the company completed and submitted the necessary paperwork (there was a fee for that), and a few very minor adjustments were made to ensure the project passed inspection, though the initial work was fine and totally safe and most likely would have passed just fine. We were told to let them know if there were any issues pointed out by the inspector regarding this job and Washington Plumbing would take care of it no charge.
Description of Work: A determination was made of the cause of the leak. The old water heater was drained and removed and a new water heater was installed and old venting was replaced.

It took about 2 hours to remove the existing spigots (original from home construction in '75) and install the new ones. I was extremely pleased with the plumber they sent--knowledgeable, informative, and a really solid craftsman.
Description of Work: OK, let me say right off that I don't like paying a lot of money for something as mundane as a outdoor water spigot. For something like this, I naturally assume it should be low-cost. I am also cheap by nature. However, the work that needed to be done required a trained professional. Somebody who knows the inner-workings of homes built in the PNW for the past 40 years. Washington Plumbing made it clear from our first call what the cost range was going to be and the final price was right in the middle. So as much as I didn't want to pay $800 for two replacement spigots, I knew I was going to pay that much and I needed to pay that much. Also, since this was a plumbing job conducted by a real plumber--not a handyman--I have to repair the wallboard inside the house where the hole was cut away to access the water pipes. Again, I knew this before I agreed to services, but I don't think most people would understand what is required to fix a plumbing issue like this.

I called Washington plumbing and heating to get service to repair my toilet and kitchen sink. The appointment was made for a time window of 1:00-3:00pm, that same day. The service man called around 1:20pm and said he should be here at 1:45pm. When he arrived at 2:15pm, he apologized for being late and we discussed what I needed done. I took him to the master bath and showed him the toilet that was running continuously. He determined that the valve, supply line, and inside part of the fill valve needed to be replaced. Then he inspected the pipes under the kitchen sink and determined that there was a crack in the drain pipe line just behind the wall. He then wrote up an estimate of the work that needed to be done. He thoroughly explained his estimate to me which he had shown me as he was inspecting the job prior to making the estimate. I agreed to have the work performed and the service man went straight to work. He covered the floor in the bathroom with a blanket he brought with him. He shut off the water at the main and completed the repair on the toilet within 30-45 minutes. As soon as the toilet was repaired he turned the water back on, keeping the time without water to a minimum. Once the toilet was repaired, he returned to the kitchen and began to work on the cracked pipe. He removed the drywall to expose the pipes and removed the broken pipes. At that time he realized he did not have all the needed parts on the truck with him. He returned to the warehouse to retrieve the parts making sure that I knew he would return and complete the job as soon as possible. He came back within an hour and completed the repair. Once the repair was done he rebuilt the drain route under the sink to maximize the efficiency of the drain at no charge. Throughout the process he repeatedly monitored for any possible leaks in both the toilet and the sink repairs. Throughout the whole process the serviceman was very professional and respectful. I was very comfortable with his knowledge and never felt any pressure to do anything that I might feel was not right. I would call on their services again in the future should I need them without a second thought.

The company sent a service rep out to see if he could get it unjammed but he was unable to do so and recommended that I get a new disposal. Given that the disposal was 10 years old, I agreed with the assessment and the rep came out the next day with the new disposal and installed. I was not charged for the initial visit and found the service to be excellent. The rep was on time and performed the installation quickly. I would definitely use this company again.

Upon inspection the plumber quoted $475 for an estimated 2-3 hours of work including redoing some plastic pipes under the sink (he was actually there for 2 1/4 hours... 2 hours after the initial inspection/estimate). This seemed quite high to me but the plumber was at the house, our availability was limited and we needed to get it done so I reluctantly approved while at the same time wishing I had contracted with the other plumber. He did what appeared to be a nice job but as it turned out we noticed one of the pipes leaked so we called that evening and asked them to fix. This was Saturday evening and the owner answered and said he would fix first thing Sunday morning. He was prompt, polite and quickly fixed the problem Sunday. Although the quote was $475 the plumber subsequently explained that that did not include the $69 fee so with tax my total bill was $588. They were professional and took pride in their work but I think $588 for 2 1/4 hours is very high, especially given the pricing provided by the other plumber I contacted. When I mentioned this to the plumber he said they would likely have upped their estimate when they did their inpection. Nevertheless, at 2 1/4 hours X the quoted rates from the other plumber, I can't get in the ballpark of what I was being charged. Lesson learned, if they won't tell you what their labor rates are before they come out to do the job, you are at their mercy. Caveat emptor.
Description of Work: Washington Plumbing hooked up a sink and installed a new garbage disposal for us. We provided the sink, faucet and new garbage disposal so it was strictly labor plus they redid some of the plastic piping under the sink. I called another plumber first who had estimated based on the discussion something close to $250 - 300 based on about 1 1/2 - 2 hours of work $205 for the 1st hour plus $69 for subsequent hours plus materials plus tax. Instead I decided to go with Washington Plumbing who quoted $69 to inspect and bid and they would only provide a quote after inspection. I expected the job would only take an hour or so so I went with Washington Plumbing.

We called them and they set up a time to come out and take a look at our place. They came and took a look at our hot water tank and the plumbing that was hooked up to it, and he flushed the system. He went in and took down the grate that covers the heat exchanger and took down some information that was on it. That was it, and then he left. The end goal was for them to fix leaks from some of the joints and pipes that connect to the hot water tank and we wanted to get an estimate on what it would take to fix that. They gave us an estimate on that.

They did an excellent job. They were neat in their work, had to dig a ditch to get to the leak and when we returned home we couldn't even tell where the ditch had been dug. We called to schedule the repairs and someone was out that same day to check out the issue and let us know what would be needed. They were hoping to get out by late afternoon for the estimate, but ended up coming later in the evening after finishing up a job that was ahead of us so that family could have their water turned back on. (I can respect that - I'd want them to stay late if it was me that was going to be without water overnight). They were real good about calling as soon as they knew to tell us they would be late. After reviewing the issue on that Friday, they were'nt able to get back to resolve the shower faucet issue for another couple of days, but once there Jeff was thorough and quick and had things repaired in short measure. I like that he took the time to explain the issues and what he did in the repairs and was very patient with our questions.
