Description of Work: Arrival time was about 1.5 hours late. They did call to say they would be late, but it still had an impact on the day. The quality of the work was good enough, but it was the professionalism at the end of the call that was of concern. After all of the work was completed (install of instant hot water and slow drain clean out), the faucet was dripping. I remarked on this, not expecting a dripping faucet that wasn't evident prior to the service. The immediate comment was "do you think I did that?". I said that I expected after 3 hours and $650 to not have a dripping faucet. It could have been handled so much better. The faucet did stop dripping; it was likely just water in the faucet. I think the plumber knew that and he could have easily just said to "give it a minute and let's see if it stops" or "let me check on it". Instead he adopted an attitude that I didn't think was necessary. I asked him to please leave and he immediately changed his tune, as he was expected next door for the referral I had just given him. I think that's it.

Response from Washington Plumbing and Heating Inc
We researched this response as we did not have a record of this customer in our files. After a computer inquiry she came up as an email that made it to our "junk mail" folder. We currently read the email and it was from this customer as a reply to an earlier phone call and conversation regarding replacing a shower valve. During the original phone call the customer asked questions about the current valve and a future valve that we tried to answer on the phone as best we could. Our policy is generally that we would have to send a plumber out to assess the installation and what options are available for the customer would be addressed at that time. There were many unknowns remaining without a visit from a plumber that we could not answer, we suggested she email us some photos of the current installation and what she wanted to install so that we may help answer if it seemed possible to replace the existing valve with what she was looking at online. We actually were more than responsive and helpful with our original contact with this customer. The fact that an email was sent to us and we did not pick up on it is not uncommon as we receive many dozens of emails daily and many of those are spam that get sent to a junk mail folder along with legitimate emails...and we also have missed phone calls that get lost on our voicemail system occasionally...no system is perfect nor are we. We would have hoped that [members name] would have called us back, especially since this is how she originally contacted us, if she did not get a response to an email she sent...or at least have sent a follow up email, but she did not. Instead two weeks later with no further contact she decided to just send a negative review. As a business we are disappointed that after trying to help a customer, instead that customer decides to prematurely provide a negative review without merely picking up the phone to ask if we received her email and for an answer to their additional questions. We believe as a company in doing our best to help customers and would hope that our customers and those that we attempt to help offer us the common courtesy to check in with us before jumping to conclusions and simply writing negative reviews. Today's "internet" discourse has gotten out of hand and expectations are not realistic, we hope that everyone takes the time to interact directly with one another before making harsh and often incorrect assumptions. As a business we encounter customers that do not call us back, cancel appointments the last minute or do not respond to our questions, but we do not assume anything on their part and genuinely hope that we can assist them at a later time. We know that Angie's List and other similar companies that rely heavily on reviews highly encourage customers to respond with reviews both positive and negative, as without them their business model collapses. We also encourage our customers to write reviews, but we think communicating directly with us first is truly the best way to get answers or resolve any issues with positive outcomes.

Description of Work: Provider came out on Wednesday~9/11 to view the requirements for replacing a 30-gal low boy hot water heater. Service person was very knowledgeable and professional. Promised to have a complete breakdown and estimate to me via email on Thursday or Friday. I called on the following Tuesday and spoke with someone requesting the quote. He said he would get right on it and took down my email address again. I left another voicemail message yesterday, the 24th. It is now Wednesday the 25th and still no quote or response to my last message to them. Based on the professional attitude of the service person who came out, I would likely have used this vendor, assuming that the price was competitive. Not now.

Description of Work: I was scheduled for an 0800 plumbing call and was told I would receive a call approximately 30 minutes before hand when the plumber was on his way. At 0830 I rang the company and they said they would look into it. I did receive a call back immediately. The plumber had a flat tire and they said they would dispatch someone else and they would be there in 1- 11/2 hours. The plumber arrived at 1000. He was professional. Attended to the business of clearing 2 drains and assessed a broken facet for the parts that needed to be ordered to make a repair. I would have appreciated if the plumber with the flat tire or his company had called me first to let me know of the difficulty so I could have planned my time around the change. However, they did give me a $25 discount because they were late which I did not ask for which demonstrated goodwill and business sense on their part. Good job.

Description of Work: Kitchen sink drain clogged (total clog). Under the sink piping was plastic and 22 years old. Called Washington Plumbing that evening and they promised a repairman for 8 AM the next morning. He showed up right at 8 AM, explained that he would look at the job, provide an estimate, and upon my approval would begin work. We agreed all the pipiing needed replacement, which would take care of the clog, and the work would be done within an hour at a price I deemed reasonable. He had the parts on hand and completed the job in less than an hour. I paid the estimated price. Never had a better plumbing experience.

We certainly regret the Member's claim of us not showing up to an appointment. We do not however have any record of this appointment or of scheduling anything with this member at all or have we recieved any calls from this member claiming we missed an appointment. We would welcome a phone call describing this incident from this member and would have hoped if we did miss an appointment that we would have recieved a call, but we did not or have not to this date. Though it is certainly possible we may have misplaced information on our schedule, we do use a software based system that is highly unlikely to do so. I have scoured our records and can not find this member. We also do not know what date this member is claiming the appointment was supposed to be on, though it seems from the information filled in by this member that this was on December 14, about three weeks ago. We take pride in the fact we provide outstanding customer service to all of our customers and potential customers that call us. We can however make mistakes and would be happy to take responsibility for them, but we would hope that a customer would contact us immediately when we do so and ask us why we missed an appointment. I invite this member to call us and discuss this matter so we can obtain further information and find out why we cannot find this appointment.

Description of Work: Our washing machine was backing up and we thought it was frozen pipes. Jeff came out and determined it was a clogged pipe and cleared it out for us. He also connected a sink in our laundry room and replaced our front outside faucet pipe. His work was thorough and professional. We have his card and will use him again in the future.
