I have had The Blind Alley do my blinds for the last 3 homes I have owned over a 15 year period. I have always checked their prices compared to other competitors (Costco, 3 Day Blinds, Home Depot etc.) They are very close or lower in price than their competitors. What the Blind Alley has which no one else has is their service. I had a hard time with competitors who didn't call back until 2 weeks later to set up an appointment or didn't call me back at all. Some of their prices were way higher for the same product. I have worked with Leslie Davies at The Blind Alley every time. She has helped me with colors, products that might be cheaper that I could use but still looks nice, and she is quite knowledgeable about anything they sell. I have had high and low end products and loved them all. If I had anything that needed repaired (like a string that broke which happened several times when my children were young) they would come out and fix it for free. When you call there office they immediately direct you to the person you need to speak to. There service is unbeatable. You do not get the same service at other places.

I would never go anywhere else for interior window treatments! Great service. I worked with Leslie, and everyone in the store is friendly and helpful as I explored my options. I took several samples home to see how they worked in my windows. The tiny samples are not the greatest for gauging glare blockage, which is what I needed. I erred on the side of more light blocking and I'm glad I did. Leslie gave me a healthy discount without my even asking! The installer was friendly, helpful and efficient. I love the motorized shade on the large picture window. Worth the extra money. I got the wand for the much smaller window and once you get the hang of how to use it, it's fine. I would absolutely get additional shades from The Blind Alley.

We are very happy with our beautiful shades, and with the customer service we received from The Blind Alley. Buying window treatments from The Blind Alley was a very pleasant experience, from the moment the sales representative came to our home to help us select the shades for our living room and entry-way, to the installation, and the follow-up customer service. Everyone is extremely polite, knowledgeable, and professional. The installer was very competent, and the shades were beautifully installed. (The installers are trained company employees, not subcontractors.) Our Nantucket shades arrived from the Hunter Douglas factory exactly as ordered. We had a question about one of the shades, and we were very impressed with The Blind Alley’s level of follow-up customer service. The Blind Alley sent out the head technician to look at the situation, and then took the time to consult with the Hunter Douglas company. This slight issue was resolved to our satisfaction. This is the second time that we have used The Blind Alley for window shades and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for future window treatment purchases. Everybody at The Blind Alley takes pride in what they do. The company stands behind their products and provides unrivaled customer service.
Description of Work: We purchased 5 Hunter Douglas Nantucket shades from the Blind Alley, and they were recently installed. This order included shades for two large windows, two angled windows, and a motorized shade for the window over the front door.

at the initial call to install the 3 shades one of the large shades was the wrong material and color. I was told that a reorder was submitted and that the new shades should arrive within 10 days. That did not happen and after many phones calls trying to figure out what was the exact problem it became apparent that the company had a bad order on the material and that Blind Alley was not getting the correct information. Another person at Blind Alley was able to contact the company, get the right information and I was able to get an appointment scheduled for installation. Although I had the initial problem regarding when I would be getting my shade, Blind Alley refunded my deposit until all the shades were installed . I would definitely work with them again , I think my problem was with the shade manufacture and not Blind Alley. The bonus is that Blind Alley stands behind their work for as long as I have the shades!!

Options for types of blinds were well explained during the initial consultation. Delivery and the single-day installation were timely and effi efficient. We like these wood-slat blinds which open and close easily in just a second, and raising and lowering them is also easy. Our thanks to staff members Tammy and Natalia and colleagues. We highly recommend Blind Alley Bellevue. Bst rgds, Billand Barbara Galler.

The person who arrived kept making inappropriate jokes starting at the front door. All of these jokes were unprofessional. Her whole manner was unprofessional continuing to compliment on things around the house; wanting to look out in our back yard and telling us we had a little bit of paradise (just way over the top). After about 15 minutes of an extremely fast talking sales pitch and silliness, we asked her to leave indicating she had nothing we were interested in. She indicated she only sold Hunter Douglas blinds when the coupon was not good on any but one type of blind. The coupon we had listed several other brands of blinds were available from her company. We explained we had already gotten one other estimate on Hunter Douglas blinds and they had the type we were interested in. She said we didn't know what we were talking. When we said, there was no reason to go on any further, she got extremely upset; slammed things around closing up her books, picking up her shoes, etc. As she walked out in a huff, she indicated we wouldn't be allowed to call her company again if we were dissatisfied with the other estimate.

We chose another route, so did not use this company, altho I wouldn't hesitate to do so in the future, and would recommend them as quality source of blinds.
Description of Work: A rep from Blind Alley came and discussed window blinds with me. She was amazingly competent, knowledgeable and professional. She was very careful in all the measurements. She had a number of book with examples of the blinds and colors available. She was here a little over an hour. Blind Alley is locally owned, has an outstanding reputation, and large showrooms in the area.

I had ordered blinds for our new home. They came to my home with samples, listened to my requirements and recommended reasonably priced options.Measurements were taken and I placed my order. The order was filled in 3 weeks as promised. Their technician came at the appointed time and installed them quickly, quietly and professionally. The greatest advantage when buying through Blind Alley is that they provide free repairs for the lifetime of the blinds. One of the blinds in my family room was not working. They had to send technicians out two times to resolve the issue. Both times, I was given quick appointments. The repair guys were on time and repaired the blinds. Overall, I had a great experience. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and keep your needs in mind. I would recommend Blind Alley for their excellent service and extensive selection.
Description of Work: I had ordered blinds for our new home. A representative from Blind Alley came home with samples, took measurements and emailed a quote. I went to the showroom to look at some more choices and placed the order. Blinds came in 3 weeks and were installed. I had ordered blinds for 14 windows and 2 sliders. About a month ago, one of our blinds stopped working and it was fixed promptly

We purchased Hunter Douglas Alouette blinds from a different company 6 years ago. The blinds became defective within a few years, but the original vendor we purchased it from was not cooperative with facilitating the exchange with Hunter Douglas even though the product contained a lifetime warranty. The vendor provided an RMA (return ID) but she instructed us to find an installer to remove the blinds, then bring them into the Hunter Douglas return site ourselves. Her business was not doing well in the economy and as a result, was limited with installers who would not come out to remove our blinds. We called multiple blind installers but could not find anybody who was knowledgeable with the product. Throughout the years, the Aloutte blinds have continued to malfunction, to the point where we could no longer open or close some of them. (We purchased 4 sets for our kitchen/family room.) We did not want to pay another $2000 to replace them, so I called Hunter Douglas who directed us to The Blind Alley. From the beginning, they were nothing but helpful with facilitating the end to end process. I spoke to Kurt from the Blind Alley who was incredibly helpful with working through the logistics with Hunter Douglas. It turned out that we were only owed a $1500 exchange since $500 of whart we paid for was the commission for the original vendor. Kurt offered to have The Blind Alley pick up the additional $500 to prevent us from paying the difference! From there, a designer came to our home to help us pick out alternative choices. She was incredibly helpful and found a product that had a similar look to our previous blinds but with far superior quality. The total cost came to about $1900 so at the end of the day, we did not pay a dime! The blinds arrived in about 7 weeks, then they promptly installed it. The replacement blinds are even nicer than the original and we could not be more pleased. The icing on the cake is that they provided us with a nicely potted plant as a thank you for using their services. The Blind Alley facilitated the entire warranty (on behalf of a business that is no longer around in our area), covered the additional cost, then gave us a thank you gift. That is above and beyond any customer service experience! One more thing I should mention is that every single employee we worked with was incredibly courteous, helpful and professional. Despite the fact that this was a warranty exchange, we were treated as if we were customers purchasing a new product. It's clear that they take pride in what they do ! The next time we need blinds, we will be going through this company.
Description of Work: The Blind Alley coordinated a warranty exchanged with Hunter Douglas on behalf of the original vendor who was no longer doing business in our area. From there, they helped us pick out a comparable product, measured, then installed the new blinds.

It was nipped in the bud by a large discrepancy between the phone quote and the price in the store.
Description of Work: I was quoted a figure for two windows and when I visited the store to choose a color, the price doubled. There may have been a misunderstanding, but I thought I was being clear on my end what I was looking for, and otherwise would not have made the drive in. There was no purchase made from this retailer, so am unable to comment on the other aspects of customer experience. I would give a fair rating, but that would imply I had an okay experience.

We were looking to cover three view windows to block out sunlight while enhancing the room aesthetic. We received bids from 3 window covering companies total. One company deferred to Blind Alley and didn't bid, stating that Blind Alley was the strongest in the area at doing installations such as these. The other company was helpful and had a slightly lower bid (thus the and quot;Band quot; on price) but they weren't as responsive as Blind Alley and used contracted installers instead of the in-house installers employed by Blind Alley. They said the installation would be about four weeks out. After four weeks, I hadn't heard anything and so sent an email to the salesperson. I then got a call from the scheduler saying they could set something up in about ten days. I thought it was a little strange that I had to reach out to them to ask if the blinds were ready only to hear that they were ready and the next step was to schedule installation. Thus, the and quot;Band quot; on responsiveness. The installation was very professional and of high quality. The installer arrived on time, and quietly set up and efficiently went about the installation. It was clear the installer had done this many times and made sure to get the window coverings set up perfectly without prompting or suggestions from us. At no point did it seem like he was hurrying through the job to move onto the next one as he spent spent as much time on minor adjustments and tweaking as he did in getting the skyline blinds initially hung. Overall, a very professional installation, everything looks great and we would definitely use Blind Alley again.

It went very well. Joanie came out and was personable and helpful. We talked about color, opacity, and the fact that the different window frame styles would require different depth blinds installed in somewhat different ways. When we asked about the cheaper, local brand versus the big-name brand (both sold by The Blind Alley), Joanie explained that they were giving the new brand a try and it seemed to be high quality, but they didn't yet know how it would hold up in the long run. We appreciated that she seemed to be giving us honest information. All three companies who bid on this project had similar approaches, with slightly varying colors, styles, and raising/lowering mechanisms. Another company offered a lower price than The Blind Alley, but Joanie made follow-up calls that somehow didn't feel pushy, and I liked her customer service. When she agreed to match the other price (in fact she bid slightly below it; the final price above includes tax), we went ahead with The Blind Alley. A few weeks later Matt came out to do the installation, which took maybe a couple hours. It's been fine so far.
Description of Work: We needed blinds for four separate areas: Sheer (privacy) blinds for a stairwell window, sheer blinds for a wall of windows and glass door, and blackout blinds for two bedrooms. Some of the windows were more challenging than others because the frames were very shallow or windows in the same room were slightly different sizes or configurations. We got bids from The Blind Alley along with two other major companies.

The Blind Alley was the second installer we contacted for a quote on a whole-house install of blinds, shutters, and other window treatments -- 11 windows in total. Our first quote was pretty competitive, but Blind Alley beat it and used Hunter Douglas product instead of second-tier brands. From purchase to full install took about 8 weeks, with two separate installation dates for the shutters and everything else. We're very pleased with the end product, and would recommend Blind Alley to others who are looking for a knowledgeable and professional company. NOTE: If you're a Microsoft employee, don't forget to mention your Prime card discount. That saved 10% off the total bill!
