With a final price tag of well over $800k and "premium" materials and finishes promised the final product was rife with what I can only describe as shortcuts and corners being cut by builders. We paid for premium HD Plank Vinyl which should be more durable and easier to care for than other flooring options, eight months later we are still waiting for them to replace an uneven and gap filled install of the entire ground floor. We also paid an upcharge for eggshell paint (instead of flat) in the whole home, after recently painting some accent walls with eggshell it is apparent they shortchanged us on this as well. The list of other complaints we have with substandard workmanship and/or materials: windows installed with broken seals, sliding glass doors warped and will not close, siding that flaps in the wind because it was not secured properly during install, exterior doors not sealed (even though they supposedly perform blower door test), cabinetry countertops and flooring have marks and cuts from installation that should not be visible if installers take pride in their work, there are a few other details that are not as major as the above listed items I will not mention. While we liked the design and sales teams my final conclusion is that somehow there is cultural dissonance in this company that has resulted in my wife and I now not trusting anything we are told due to the myriad excuses and delays that we get. The final insult, they just changed the website we used to submit and communicate warranty requests, so we can't even follow up with them. I'll update this review as things progress, but for now I would say that we are very soured on the home we had been promised and loved prior to move in.
Description of Work: Luxury home with premium finishes, just wasn't, and remedial/repair work is still not done 8 months later.

Construction quality and attention to detail is a joke, and most importantly once you sign the contract, forget about getting them to help you solve the issues; they will not own their mistakes and fix it. We have experienced all sorts of mistreatment during the closing process (our new home advisor lied to us about the completed jobs till the last day, on the day of hand over she didn't even have the courage to show up). Basically, we were sold an uncompleted house with many promises of unfinished jobs to be taken care of immediately. Our house still does not even have a proper exterior paint 3 months after we moved in. I do have faulty installed hardwoods squeaking and cracking all over the house, some of my closet doors were installed last month, my cabinet parts arrived after 1 month, there are issues with the tiles, paint, etc. They installed a defective fireplace mantel which had huge cracks and holes on it as an upgraded material and instead of replacing it, they did a touch-up paint, it took 1 month of struggle with them to make them accept and issue a refund. My sink which was an upgrade has scratches on it, the kitchen cabinets which were an upgrade delivered damaged. This house cost our family over $1M and tons of headache on top of it. It was our biggest mistake to buy a house from this company in the first place and I am looking forward to selling it as soon as possible and forgetting about this nightmare (it is still not over) in my family's life.
Description of Work: I would give my experience with Quadrant a Zero if I could

I had a bit of buyer remorse after purchasing my Quadrant Home (the home is still in process of being built). I felt there was a gross misrepresentation of what the final sales price would be. I checked out their model homes and decided on one I liked. I asked the sales rep. if I want my house built just like the specific model home, how much would I have to pay in upgrades. I was told "Oh not much. The only upgrades in the model homes are for things you can't see like the security system and wall-speakers". I even asked for specific prices of some things like island kitchen, master bathroom, etc., and was told either it would cost only a couple hundred dollars or nothing at all. After committing myself to the house with earnest money, I went to the showroom to pick my options, only to find out that if I wanted the house to resemble to model home, it would cost well over $20,000 more (and that's conservative estimate). It's partly my fault, I should have not just trusted the rep.
Description of Work: Sold me a new home that will be built on lot in one of their communities. The process is: 1) You check out model homes and talk to sales rep. (community sales manager) in one of their communities. 2) If you decide you want to purchase a home, you pick out floor plan. 3) Put in earnest money to reserve your lot. 4)Then you set appointments to go to showroom to pick out home options. 5) Construction begins shortly after you put in additional construction deposit. That's where I'm at now in process. As the home is being built, I'll have some appointments on specified days during the process to check status, get updates, etc., until home is finally done.
