Mr. Handyman of SE Bellevue

I really appreciate the follow-through and help I received from Teri at The Handyman of S.E. Bellevue. She went over my project in detail and said that this kind of technical work would probably be best served by a company that specializes in this cable and ethernet install. I really appreciate her taking the time to tell me that. We also went over what they CAN do for me in the future and she sent me a list about that and their COVID-19 protocol to keep them and us safe! Also they are fully insured and the team brings a lot of extras in the truck with them to get the work done that day. All the years I've needed help doing home remodels and small upgrades, this type of customer service is rare. This company will be my next go to for estimates on home repairs and remodels. If you, like us, no longer can or want to do the handyman chores around your house, these are the team for you.

The company was hired to replace our fascia boards on all three levels of the house. We also had them paint the soffets. This was a large job and they were punctual, professional and really proficient at thier job. The only downside is they were a bit expensive, but we felt they were worth it when we saw the results.

Very well; the refrigerator is working. We also had Handyman out again to repair stripping along two doors. Due to damage, he was able to straighten the door with new hinges, replaced the bottom wood insert, and new stripping - great job.

Very well. I appreciate the professionalism of all the men that work for this company. They are very good listeners, and sensitive to customers’ needs as the job is being done. All the handymen I have had in my home are easy to work with, efficient, and try not to make too big of a mess (one of my requests) 😊👍

Initially all was well. They showed up on time. The installers did not read the directions nor test the tub before they installed it. I had ordered a special drain kit that the manufacturer suggested for this tub but they didn't use it. When I came home and saw the drain kit I ordered sitting there and the tub installed I didn't know what to think. They were not responsive about why it wasn't used, I had to call several times. Also, the tub was NOT working after they left. I was told it was plugged in and working but it wasn't. Fortunately a neighbor came over and after some investigation we discovered the outlet for the whirlpool tub plugs was not "hot" nor was the tub plugged in. They had said it was working when clearly it was not. The communication was very poor. I also asked for an estimate to fix an outdoor faucet and never received it.

The technician took longer than usual for the faucet installation. We were not able to finish the other jobs after discovering technical issues.

work was flawless, 4.5 hours, but the buyer will not recognize the repairs, I was very impressed, very detailed about the work. Another gentleman was sent to re-insulated and belly bonded and worked on the crawlspace, next day came back to take pictures and bought materials for the left side of the house, rebuild it with wood beams and concrete post. 3rd day, bought new screen cover for the air vents around the house, about 8 to 10 of them. I was very pleased with their work.

They're great. Showed up on time. They have a 2 hour minimum. Just be aware that If your job is under 2 hours you still pay for a full 2 hours.

They did the great job. It was actually excellent, because its not leaking now. I like that they showed me what was in the roof, showed me what they are going to do. I like that kind of communication. They are pretty accurate of how much time it would take.

Showed up on time. Very nice man. Efficient and knowledgeable about a lot of everything. I had him hange a large mirror, install a security camera system (the system was “blink” and was wireless and ran on batteries, brackets installed and camera positioning done), fix a wall lamp that was falling off wall and trouble shoot a tv remote problem. The price was $276 for a two hour minimum. When I booked appointment I thought it was a lot but he got a lot done in two hours. I would recommend that you have enough projects so you can keep him busy for 2 hours.

I had blocked time at work to be home for the scheduled job. The day before, I get a courtesy reminder call. 30 min prior the appointment, I get an email that the technician is on his way, along with a photo and name of that person. I was impressed for a moment. Then at 1 min past the set time, I get a call saying the person has a doctor's appointment and can only make it at an hour later. I had a meeting at work and couldn't be home to accommodate this last minute schedule. I say I may not be able to be home 3 hrs from now. At this, I was told it was just for a blood draw and that she'll call me back. Exactly 5 min later I get a call and in a very matter of fact manner I was told I had two options - either reschedule to later in the day, or reschedule it after 20 days. When I asked if the person could still come for an hour and finish up as much as possible, I was told he wouldn't be able to finish the task (I said I was fine with that). What ticked me off was that I was told rather very unapologetically that it wouldn't be a simple prorated reduction in the service costs. I got some speil about being on time 99% of the time. For me they failed 100%. Disgusted, I cancelled and vowed never to hire them again.

The guy named Joe is bad! He refused a free estimation and hung up my phone call.

DJ did an excellent job. Also would like to mention the management, scheduling and followup review of Mr. Handyman as excellent.

Had a soffit/front porch bead board repair done where some of the bead boards had buckled. Instead of pulling enough bead board down to re-install properly, the grooves (tongue and groove) were rip sawed off and caulk was used to fill the gaps. Naturally, with expansion and contraction, the caulk separated from the joints and led to several unsightly areas. An offer was made to repaint, however, we do not feel as that will work over time. We are going to rip the entire area down and replace with new bead board as the multiple coats of paint (including interior grade paint) that were slapped on are unsightly in their own right. On a good note, we had bead board added to the balance of the house and the work that was completed within the allotted time frame (we had to do some of the finish work ourselves) does look good and we are happy with that. I will say that I should have been more diligent on oversight of the job. Tongue and groove is meant to allow for expansion and contraction. As the grooves were sawed off of the planks, gaps were inevitable. Update 1/25/2019: Mr Handyman returned, tore down all of the originally repair porch ceiling (previously repaired) and properly installed new bead board (purchased by us) after painting it at their shop. We are very pleased to provide this update and are very happy now with the porch ceiling.
