I feel compelled to share my incredibly disappointing experience with Medici Architect. If you're looking for a company that excels at delivering delayed work and charges exorbitantly for simply checking on the status of your project, then this is the right company for you. My journey with Medici Architect has been nothing short of a nightmare. I entrusted them with my project, hoping to benefit from the expertise of a professional architect company. Little did I know that they would assign inexperienced new graduates to handle my project. To add insult to injury, it has been over 18 months, and I am still waiting for my building permit. Yes, you read that right – 18 months! Their inefficiency and lack of progress have caused significant frustration and financial strain and when I tried to confront them for the delay, it seemed like they were purposely avoiding any accountability. I have solid evidence to support my claims that Medici Architect is incapable of executing a project correctly and adhering to agreed-upon timelines. If anyone is curious and would like to see the evidence firsthand, I am more than willing to provide it. My sincere advice to anyone considering engaging Medici Architect for their architectural needs is to stay far, far away. Save yourself from the headaches, stress, and wasted time and money. Look elsewhere for a reliable, professional, and competent company that values its clients and delivers on its promises. I hope that by sharing my experience, others will be spared from enduring the same ordeal that I went through.

We found Ms. Buchwalter through a local contractor and thought she would be a good match for us. We needed to build an addition to our 1950 rambler, but we had a tight budget and we were firm in exactly how much we were willing to pay. We showed her pictures and our sketches of what we wanted and she liked them a lot and was excited to have us as customers. We wanted to bump out the front and add space for our living room and add a second floor for a master bedroom bathroom with a deck off the second floor bedroom. We added several thing we liked at her advise, always being told that it would stay within our budget. Maybe she thought we did not know better. Even if that room did put us over budget we were never told that even if we asked if we were over budget. Ms. Buchwalter kept on saying we were still within our budget. Repeatedly Ms. Buchwalter would look us in the eyes and tell s that the house was not going to be over budget and that was not true in the end. ,I have emailed her since we lasted talked and she still doesn?t care that we can?t use her designs and that we have been looking at her designs for the past months decided that we just don?t like them, I have called her repeatedly (9 times) only to have no one pick up the phone or the message machine to go on. I also went to her place of business and she has moved. We are now left holding designs for $5,000 dollars that we don?t like and can?t use. And because of our experience we do not feel that we can trust another professional.
Description of Work: Our crummy experience with Ms. Emily Buchwalter of Medici Architects: We hired and paid Ms. Emily Buchwalter of Medici Architects five thousand dollars for a small complete design for an addition on our home. From the start we were very clear that it had to fall within a certain price range, and because of health issues. handicapped assessable. We showed her our line drawings and pictures of homes that we liked, Ms. Buchwalter was very enthusiastic about how she could give us just what we wanted for what we could afford and really wanted to design our addition, and we thought she would be able to handle a job like ours. We were so excited! Ms. Buchwalter would email me designs that I would approve, or not, and Ms. Buchwalter came to our home for consults. We would go over with her again what we wanted and to make sure that we were always within our budget. Ms. Buchwalter always maintained that we were within budget and she repeatedly guaranteed us that she would not go over our budget. She came every time to our house with a builder she worked with, he also knew our budget. My husband sent both of them an email at the beginning of the process explaining our situation and price limits very clearly. In the end, the price suddenly was $50, 000 over this budget. When my husband confronted Ms. Buchwalter about this, she told us to seek other bids, still insisting that the plans were in the price range we had set. When I had multiple contractors come through and make bids, her design turned out to be $50,000 over budget according to them as well! We really felt like she took advantage of us, and our situation. We were sold something that was questionable and that we could not afford. Now, we are out $5,000.
