They were contacted in writing with photos. Response, "you are not the original owners. They have 6 years to contact us on this matter. Once the home is "signed off" by inspection, we are longer responsible". We will also write about the Inspection Report too.
Description of Work: We are second owners of an 11 year old home that John Buchan built. The foundation has (4)holes it it the size of sewer lines. Some have pipes that bring water into our crawl space. Ducting that was never attached to furnace or room flooring. Round ducting attached to rectangular vent. Concrete forms never removed from the concrete pilings after construction. Wooden forms used on the exterior home not fully removed and in bedded into cement compromising the integrity of the foundation.

WE'VE HAD SOME MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH THEIR QUALITY OF WORK AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN WILLING TO STAND BEHIND THE CARPET OR VINYL FLOORING. WE SELECTED A BERBER CARPET AND HAVE HAD LOTS OF TROUBLE WITH THEIR WORK. THE SEAMS ARE HORRIBLE, IT SNAGS, A REPAIRMAN EVEN SPENT ABOUT 30 MINUTES TRIMMING SNAGS AND REPAIRING A HOLE IN ONE VISIT. NOW WE HAVE TO PUT AN AREA RUG OVER THE REPAIRED HOLE BECAUSE IT LOOKS SO BAD. THE FLOOR GLUE CAME THROUGH THE VINYL FLOORING IN THE TOILET ROOM AND HAS CREATED A MUSTARD COLORED STAIN THAT WON'T COME OFF. THE BUILDER SENT A REPAIRMAN OUT FOR THE CARPET A COUPLE OF TIMES, BUT THEY NEVER FULLY RESOLVED THE ISSUE AND THEY HAVE BEEN UNWILLING TO DO ANY OTHER REPAIRS/ REPLACEMENTS SINCE.

Homeowner has two dogs living in home. Homeowner has extended warranty privileges assigned to her from carpet manufacturer. She signed off as to her satisfaction with us previously. Vinyl was never an issue until after her warranty expired. We regret that she is asking for us to breach the warranty contract that we formerly held with her. Jeff Miller, Warranty Director.
