I have totaltech membership. I had tried chat service and the representative said I had to go into the store. I was not able to make an appt so went to the store. The manager, Agent S Chidester, came to help me even without an appointment. He immediately asked me the problem and fixed it!! Then he went above and beyond and updated my computer. Professional, knowledgeable, friendly and made sure I understood how he fixed it. Answered all my questions in layman's terms. Thank you for the great service.

The most horrendous customer service experience I ever suffered through. I scheduled a site evaluation for home theater, audio and automation work on a new house. The "technician" showed up, and lacked the technical ability to perform a work evaluation. He indicated that he would have an expert reach out to me. Geek squad never followed up. I called in several time to check on status and ask for someone to come and perform their advertised site survey. Endless holds, transfers from department to department, passing the buck at every stop. I am angry at angieslist for even recommending them to me.

Well, I have a Best Buy card now. I've had to buy multiple things this year and they price match. Ultimately, I've gone with them; it's a yin-yang thing. I've gone with them because they're able to deliver the product sooner than local businesses who I would prefer to do business with. They have a credit program where there's no interest for 18 months which is also convenient. The flip side is you get the price match guarantee which is never really a guarantee. We had to fight tooth and nail to get the matching value from a local venue. It's just like an additional hassle that's not necessary. We bought four or five appliances recently. The projects themselves have been fine. The delivery people have been fine.

It turns out that because it is 7 years old there isn't much that can be done to repair it due to lack of parts still made for it. So, they advised me to get a new TV. They were very sweet and didn't even charge me for the visit.

Arrived promptly after calling an hour before to confirm. Had expected a call the day before to confirm the appt. but that never happened. quick, efficient and professional installation and review of the features etc. Answered even the "dumbest" of questions without comment or hesitation. Wished I had asked a few more questions when he was here, but they are available to comeback or by phone if I wish.
Description of Work: Delivered and set up my new TV, moved old one to another room and connected it as well, then removed the oldest TV and took it for recycling.

It went well. We had lots of questions and he answered all of them. He even made sure an older laptop in the house could use the printer, as well. He thought of things that we hadn't considered. He didn't leave until everything worked well even though it took him two hours.
Description of Work: The member of the Geek Squad added a router, which he had in his van (the one I bought at the store wasn't the one I needed), he hooked up all the systems...WIFI, printer, etc to the new laptop. He installed a new anti-virus program, too.

the young man from the geek squad called ahead of showing up saying who he was and if for some reason he got called away who is possible replacement was going to be by name. He showed up discussed the project and went to work. He was stumped a little in our home as we have plaster walls and there is metal mesh under the plaster which made finding the studs in the wall a little difficult. So he reached out to the team in the area and they came over and let him know about the characteristic's of working in a home with plaster. The job was performed to my expectations and thank you Geek Squad

The mounting was hard because the spot we chose was above a set of stairs. There were two guys and they worked hard and without complaint about the difficulty reaching the area. We have used the Geek Squad before and will continue to hire them.

Tyler and Luke installed my 48 inch flat screen on a wall mount that would swing out to be seen from the kitchen. Because it was all so heavy extra support was needed and my husband told them that it would be ok to put a 2x4 on the wall. They worked really hard to get it all centered. When I got home and saw how far it stuck out from the wall I just cried. It looked terrible. I called the manager listed on the paperwork they left and told him my problem. Steven Woodworth was the manager and he said he would be glad to send them back out with a tilt only mount that wouldn't stick out so far and wouldn't need the added 2x4! I offered to pay for this trip and he said that there would be no additional cost, he just wanted me to be happy! Tyler and Luke came back the very next day and did a fabulous job. They are great guys and a pleasure to have in our home. Definitely impressed with my experience with the Geek Squad.

Service by Luke Scott and Sam Shideler was exemplary. Punctual, professional and prepared are the adjectives that come to mind. They took a job I would have spent all day on and accomplished it in a few hours. The advice and candid appraisal they offered was worth more than the money we paid. We would and will definitely recommend the Geek Squad again based on this experience.

Technician called ahead with a estimated time of arrival so I was able to run a few errands instead of waiting for him to arrive toward the end of the appointment window. Then he called when he was on his way so I could return home and meet him. Very professional. put on shoe protectors so as not to track dirt, etc. into the apartment. He helped with the decision about TV placement which was great since he does this all the time. He cleaned up after himself and made everything (all the cords and equipment) very neat. While pricey compared to Craig List listing, I'd use them again.

They came and re-programmed the remote. It took about 10 minutes. We had the remote programmed a few years ago when we bought our new TV, DVD Player and remote from Best Buy in Lynnwood.. At that time the cost to program the remote was $60.00. They came and did the programming. It took about an hour to set it all up. ( TV, Cable box, Blue Ray DVD, and Surround sound ) I thought the cost was reasonable. When we got the new cable box from Comcast, we had no choice but to have Best Buy re program the remote, so it would work with the new cable box. Since it was just a simple task, because all the main work had already been done, I was very surprised to find out that the cost for this minor update would now cost $100.00. I mentioned it to the Geek Squad representative, and he said he would look into it for me. I never heard back. We have purchaswed a lot of equipment from Best Buy over the years, and were disappointed with this situation. I would appreciate it if any adjustment could be made on our behalf. We went into Best Buy to look at IPads but I wandered over to the appliances as I have been doing for a good 2 years. Susan came up and told us that she had some really good deals this week and began to review some of the models with us and steering us away from some of the higher priced models; providing sound reviews on these models as well. I was impressed with her knowledge and her ability to listen to what we needed and why we needed it to steer us to the product that would best suit our needs.
Description of Work: I purchased a new washer and dryer that I've been putting off for a while. Susan was very knowledgeable in all brands at the store and models and provided excellent tips and tricks to get the most our of our new appliance. The price was very competitive. I went in and did not know much about electronic equipment. They said that they could help me, and said that they would send a technician out. Two young men came out and told me what I needed, but when they brought it to me, the television did not fit. They said that they would come to get it, and it took them about a month to come pick it up. They said they would bring me another one and they eventually did. They charged me three times however--they charged me for the first one, did not refund that charge, and then charged me two more times. Every time I tried to call them, they told me that they would call me back but they never did. The remote they sold me did not work, and they also did not ever respond to my requests to come fix that. I paid $150 for the extra service, but they continued to pass me on to someone else and never call me back. They finally did refund the two extra television sets, but never called about it--the credit simply showed up one day. Whenever I called them, they would insist that the duplicate charges could not possibly have happened. When I brought the remote in, the technician told me that the warranty had expired because they did not bring it to me until months after I purchased it. I have since convinced many people not to purchase televisions through them, and would advise anyone to stay away. Their installation was unsatisfactory, as I had to wiggle the wires to even get it to work. My experience with them was terrible, and I would never consider using them in the future.

I would not recommend the extended warranty if you are expecting good service. I would absolutely not use them again.
Description of Work: I have an extended warranty on my TV. When I reported this issue it took them a week to get someone out to look at it. They had to order a part and the service department called and said they couldn't get to me until December 10th.

I took my HP tower to the Bellevue store because the hard drive failed. A tech performed a test and told me he could install a new hard drive and transfer the contents of the old drive onto the new one ("ghost it"). He said the computer would be ready for pick up in a minimum of 3 days, maximum of 7 days. I called after 7 days and the work had not been started. That was a Friday. They apologized and said that I could expect to pick it up the next Tuesday. I called Tuesday and they said it wasn't done but should be done by Thursday. I called Thursday and they said they needed to run more diagnostics. Called Saturday and it wasn't done. Called the following Monday and it wasn't done. I pressed for more details and someone finally told me that they couldn't ghost the old drive onto the new one but they could retrieve my data. I said that was fine. They said it would take a "few days." I called again, and again, and again. I showed up at the store and it wasn't done. They promised it for the next Friday, which was three weeks from the day I left it at the store. I went on Friday and picked it up. My data was in a tangled bunch in a folder on the desk top. I managed to get it mostly untangled myself and reinstalled most of my old programs. I've spent over 20 hours of my time trying to get it back to a reasonable semblance of what it once was. Now it runs at a snail's pace. I'll have to hire someone to find out why but not Best Buy's Geek Squad.
