Floor Mechanics LLC performed all the work above and the results were excellent. They definitely know their craft and work very well with customers especially when it comes to deciding on materials, stain colors and finishes. The quality of Josiah's work is also excellent - he took care in removing the old material and is very talented when installing the new material. We had several odd-shaped stairs that required some additional framing and those were well-constructed as well. Using both glue and nails, we are assured the steps won't be creaking any more! Josiah completed the job on schedule and per the original cost estimate. We have also used Floor Mechanics on two previous jobs: 1) Home kitchen floor: They removed the old linoleum and masonite plus all unusable wood flooring. Installed, sanded and finished new fir floor to match flooring through out the house. 2) Condo living/dining room floor: Removed carpeting, repaired sub-flooring, and installed pre-finished mahogany flooring. Both of these jobs were done with the same care and professionalism as the project described in this review. We would definitely use Josiah and Floor Mechanics LLC again.

I bought a 100 year old Victorian with both hardwood and softwood floors. The upstairs softwoods really needed to be refinished but I didn't think I could afford it. My real estate agent recommended Josiah at Floor Mechanics. I gave Josiah a call. He came right out and gave me a quote that was surprisingly affordable. In three days, I had brand new beautiful floors that are a joy to live on. Josiah is responsive, a wonderful communicator, does great work and has good prices. I would recommend him to anyone. He has also come out and repaired my old floors when boards have begun to squeak or come loose. His repairs are spot on, held and solved all issues. Like the refinishing, he gave me a great deal. I can honestly recommend him without any reservations.
