Description of Work: Resized my gold engagement ring.

Description of Work: My ex had a custom ring made for me at Dacel's in 2003. The diamond was excellent quality, but the setting was a bit clunky and unrefined. I went to them to have a ring made for my ex, and they added an extra bar to one side of it without my request or permission, in order to make it weigh more and therefor be more expensive. The owner's son told me that it looked better that way, and I just didn't know how jewelry was supposed to be designed. I left unhappy but bought the ring anyway because I wanted the metal to match mine. In 2010, I went back to try to sell my ring, which they had previously appraised at over $12K. The owner gave me a long speech about the economy and how he had too much inventory, and couldn't possibly give me more than $1500, and even that was a favor because I was a previous customer. I said no. Then he offered me $4000 in store credit, which gave me an idea of the true value. I said no again and left. He called me back later that day to ask whether I'd reconsider his offer. I said I had an offer for $3800 and was planning to accept it. He then called back about an hour later and left a message saying that he was a contender for buying the ring. I ended up selling it to another jeweler for $4100. My ex also had purchased a pair of diamond earrings for me at Dacel's. The diamonds in the earrings are quite yellow, and the setting color makes it more obvious. Overall, quality of merchandise varies.
